[Machine] The Messenger of Allah used to concentrate in his prayers.  

مَا قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ صَلَوَاتِهِ كَذَا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to supplicate against the tribes of 'Ussayyah and Thaqwan. But when it became apparent that they had repented, he stopped making the supplication against them. Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to us, Yoḥanān ibn Manusūr al-Qādi narrated to us, 'Ali ibn 'Abdul 'Azīz narrated to us, Abu Ghassān narrated to us, Shārike narrated to us, from Abū Ḥamzah, who mentioned it and we have also heard it from 'Abd ar-Rahman ibn Mahdī may Allah have mercy on him, that he said, "Verily, the cursing was abandoned."  

قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ شَهْرًا يَدْعُو عَلَى عُصَيَّةَ وَذَكْوَانَ فَلَمَّا ظَهَرَ عَلَيْهِمْ تَرَكَ الْقُنُوتَ أَخْبَرَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ ثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ فَذَكَرَهُ وَقَدْ رُوِّينَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّمَا تَرَكَ اللَّعْنَ  

[Machine] I said to my father, "Oh father, haven't you prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and behind Abu Bakr, and behind Umar?" He replied, "Indeed, yes." I said, "So, were they not punctual in performing the Fajr prayer?" He said, "O my son, Tariq ibn Ashyam al-Ashja'i innovated something that no one who prayed behind him has preserved. He saw him innovating something while others have memorized it. So, the ruling is in favor of the one who has memorized it rather than him."  

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي يَا أَبَتِ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَخَلَفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَخَلَفَ عُمَرَ؟ قَالَ بَلَى قُلْتُ فَكَانُوا يَقْنُتُونَ فِي الْفَجْرِ؟ قَالَ يَا بُنِيَّ مُحْدَثَةٌ طَارِقُ بْنُ أَشْيَمَ الْأَشْجَعِيُّ لَمْ يَحْفَظْهُ عَمَّنْ صَلَّى خَلْفَهُ فَرَآهُ مُحْدَثًا وَقَدْ حَفِظَهُ غَيْرُهُ فَالْحُكْمُ لَهُ دُونَهُ  

[Machine] About some of the agreed-upon practices, it is not criticized to narrate from someone who has memorized and solidified it.  

عَنْ بَعْضِ السُّنَنِ لَا يَقْدَحُ فِي رِوَايَةِ مَنْ حَفِظَهُ وَأَثْبَتَهُ  

[Machine] I heard Ibn Umar saying, "Have you seen their standing (in prayer) after the completion of the recitation of this qunut? It is an innovation that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , did not do except for a month, then Burair bin Harb al-Nadbi, who is weak, abandoned it. And if his narration from Ibn Umar is authentic, then it indicates that he only disapproved of performing qunut before the bowing, consistently. As for the one-  

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ أَرَأَيْتَ قِيَامَهُمْ عِنْدَ فَرَاغِ الْقَارِئِ مِنَ السُّورَةِ هَذَا الْقُنُوتَ؟ إِنَّهَا لَبِدْعَةٌ مَا فَعَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَّا شَهْرًا ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ بِشْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ النَّدَبِيُّ ضَعِيفٌ وَإِنْ صَحَّتْ رِوَايَتُهُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَفِيهَا دَلَالَةٌ عَلَى أَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا أَنْكَرَ الْقُنُوتَ قَبْلَ الرُّكُوعِ دَوَامًا وَأَمَّا الَّذِي  

[Machine] "That the Qunoot in the Fajr prayer is an innovation, for it is not valid, and Abu Layla Al-Kufi is abandoned. We have narrated from Ibn Abbas that he made Qunoot in the Fajr prayer."  

أَنَّ الْقُنُوتَ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ بِدْعَةٌ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَصِحُّ وَأَبُو لَيْلَى الْكُوفِيُّ مَتْرُوكٌ وَقَدْ رُوِّينَا عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَنَتَ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ forbade making supplications (qunut) during the Fajr prayer. Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith al-Faqih informed us that Abu al-Hasan ad-Daraqutni, Muhammad ibn Ya'la and Anbasah and Abdullah ibn Nafi' narrated weak hadiths. It is not reliable to hear from Nafi' anything from Umm Salamah. Hayyaj narrates from Anbasah who narrates from Ibn Nafi' who narrates from his father who narrates from Safiyyah bint Abi Ubayd who narrates from the Prophet ﷺ. Safiyyah bint Abi Ubayd did not meet the Prophet ﷺ.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْقُنُوتِ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثُ الْفَقِيهُ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْلَى وَعَنْبَسَةُ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ضُعَفَاءُ وَلَا يَصِحُّ لِنَافِعٍ سَمَاعٌ مِنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ وَقَالَ هَيَّاجٌ عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ نَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَصَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ لَمْ تُدْرِكِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ
