bayhaqi:3867Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ > Abū ʿAbdullāh Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb > al-Sarī b. Khuzaymah > ʿAbdullāh / Ibn Maslamah > Mālik > Abū Ḥāzim

[Machine] On the departure of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to the Banu Amr ibn Awf and the prayer of Abu Bakr and the arrival of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the clapping of the people, Sahl bin Sa'd said: Abu Bakr did not turn around during prayer. So when people clapped a lot, he turned around and mentioned the hadith. In the end, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Why do I see you clapping more? Whoever has something bothering him in his prayer, let him say tasbih (glorification of Allah), for when he says tasbih, he will be attended to. Clapping is only for women." We have also narrated from Jabir in the past that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ complained, so we prayed behind him while he was sitting. He turned towards us and saw us standing.
