[Machine] In His saying, "Do not raise your voice in prayer nor be silent in it," [Surah Al-Isra 110], it means supplication.  

ؓ فِي قَوْلِهِ {لَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا} [الإسراء 110] قَالَتْ هُوَ الدُّعَاءُ  

[Machine] This verse (and do not make your prayer loud nor completely silent) [Surah Al-Isra 110] was revealed regarding supplication.  

نَزَلَتْ يَعْنِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا} [الإسراء 110] فِي الدُّعَاءِ  

[Machine] In His saying, "And do not make your prayer too loud or too low." [Surah Al-Isra 110], it is mentioned that a man used to raise his voice during prayer, as mentioned in this narration, and it is not a strong narration.  

فِي قَوْلِهِ {وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا} [الإسراء 110] قَالَ كَانَ الرَّجُلُ إِذَا دَعَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ كَذَا فِي هَذِهِ الرِّوَايَةِ وَلَيْسَتْ بِقَوِيَّةٍ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to secretly recite the Quran in Mecca. Whenever he raised his voice, the pagans would curse the Quran and those who revealed it and brought it. Allah, the Almighty, said, "And do not raise your voice in prayer." [Surah Al-Isra, 17:110] until the pagans hear it. "Nor be silent in it." [Surah Al-Isra, 17:110] from fear of your companions, so as not to let them hear it. "And seek a way between them." [Surah Al-Isra, 17:110] Hear them without raising your voice until they turn away from you and the Quran.  

نَزَلَتْ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مُتَوَارٍ بِمَكَّةَ وَكَانَ إِذَا رَفَعَ صَوْتَهُ سَمِعَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ ذَلِكَ فَيَسُبُّوا الْقُرْآنَ وَمَنْ أَنْزَلَهُ وَمَنْ جَاءَ بِهِ قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالَى {وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ} [الإسراء 110] حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ {وَلَا تُخَافِتْ بِهَا} [الإسراء 110] عَنْ أَصْحَابِكَ فَلَا تُسْمِعُهُمْ {وَابْتَغِ بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ سَبِيلًا} [الإسراء 110] أَسْمِعْهُمْ وَلَا تَجْهَرْ حَتَّى يَأْخُذُوا عَنْكَ الْقُرْآنَ  

When Messenger of Allah ﷺ fought the battle of Khaibar, or when Messenger of Allah ﷺ went towards it, (whenever) the people, (passed over a high place overlooking a valley, they raised their voices saying, "Allahu-Akbar! Allahu-Akbar! None has the right to be worshipped except Allah." On that Allah's Apostle said (to them), "Lower your voices, for you are not calling a deaf or an absent one, but you are calling a Hearer Who is near and is with you." I was behind the riding animal of Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he heard me saying. "There Is neither might, nor power but with Allah," On that he said to me, "O ʿAbdullah bin Qais!" I said, "Labbaik. O Messenger of Allah ﷺ!" He said, "Shall I tell you a sentence which is one of the treasures of Paradise" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Let my father and mother be sacrificed for your sake." He said, "It is: There is neither might nor power but with Allah." (Using translation from Bukhārī 4205)   

لَمَّا غَزَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حُنَيْنًا أَوْ قَالَ لَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى حُنَيْنٍ أَشْرَفَ النَّاسُ عَلَى وَادٍ فَرَفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَهُمْ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْبَعُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ لَا تَدْعُونَ أَصَمًّا وَلَا غَائِبًا إِنَّمَا تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا قَرِيبًا وَهُوَ مَعَكُمْ قَالَ وَأَنَا خَلْفُ رَايَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَمِعَنِي وَأَنَا أَقُولُ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ فَقَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ فَقُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى كَلِمَةٍ مِنْ كَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ قُلْتُ بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ
