[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to place his knees before his hands when he prostrated, and he used to raise his hands before his knees when he stood up.  

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا سَجَدَ تَقَعُ رُكْبَتَاهُ قَبْلَ يَدَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ قَبْلَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ  

[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , when he entered prayer, he would raise his hands and say the takbeer, then he would wrap himself in his garment. He would place his right hand over his left hand. When he intended to bow, he would say: "Like this with his garment" and he would bring out his hands, then he would raise them and say the takbeer. When he intended to prostrate, his knees would touch the ground before his hands, and when he prostrated, he would place his forehead between his hands and his arms would be away from his sides. Hammam reported it from Shu'ayb, from 'Asim, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ who said: "Similar to this (was narrated by) Hammam". And in the narration of one of them, Hammam said: "And the most knowledgeable person regarding this hadith is that it is from the hadith of Muhammad ibn Juhadah. So when he stood up, he would stand on his knees and lean on his thighs, and likewise...  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَكَبَّرَ ثُمَّ الْتَحَفَ بِثَوْبِهِ وَوَضَعَ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى الْيُسْرَى فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ قَالَ هَكَذَا بِثَوْبِهِ وَأَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَهُمَا وَكَبَّرَ فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ وَقَعَتْ رُكْبَتَاهُ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقَعَا كَفَّاهُ فَلَمَّا سَجَدَ وَضَعَ جَبْهَتَهُ بَيْنَ كَفَّيْهِ وَجَافَى عَنْ إِبِطَيْهِ وَقَالَ هَمَّامٌ وَثنا شَقِيقٌ ثنا عَاصِمٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مِثْلَ هَذَا قَالَ وَفِي حَدِيثِ أَحَدِهِمَا قَالَ هَمَّامٌ وَأَكْبَرُ عِلْمِي أَنَّهُ فِي حَدِيثِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُحَادَةَ فَإِذَا نَهَضَ نَهَضَ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَاعْتَمَدَ عَلَى فَخِذَيْهِ وَكَذَلِكَ  

[Machine] It is narrated that when the Prophet ﷺ prostrated, his knees would touch the ground before his hands. A’fafan said: “This hadith is strange, and it was narrated by Yazid ibn Harun from Shurayk.” The scholar said: “This is a hadith that is attributed solely to Shurayk al-Qadi, and it was only transmitted through Hamam in this manner. This is how it was mentioned by Imam al-Bukhari and others from the early scholars, may Allah have mercy on them.”  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا سَجَدَ وَقَعَتْ رُكْبَتَاهُ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقَعَ كَفَّاهُ قَالَ عَفَّانُ وَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ غَرِيبٌ وَرَوَاهُ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ قَالَ الشَّيْخُ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ يُعَدُّ فِي أَفْرَادِ شَرِيكٍ الْقَاضِي وَإِنَّمَا تَابَعَهُ هَمَّامٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مُرْسَلًا هَكَذَا ذَكَرَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ وَغَيْرُهُ مِنَ الْحُفَّاظِ الْمُتَقَدِّمِينَ رَحِمَهُمُ اللهُ تَعَالَى  

[Machine] I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then I prostrated, and the first thing that touched the ground were his knees.  

صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ وَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَا وَصَلَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ رُكْبَتَاهُ  

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform the takbir by lifting his thumbs closely to his ears, then he bowed until every joint settled in its place. He raised his head until every joint settled in its place, then he went down in the takbir until his hands were level with his knees. This was narrated to us by Umar ibn Al-Khattab and Abdullah ibn Mas'ud regarding the placement of the knees before the hands. And Allah knows best.  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَبَّرَ فَحَاذَى بِإِبْهَامَيْهِ أُذُنَيْهِ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ حَتَّى اسْتَقَرَّ كُلُّ مَفْصِلٍ مِنْهُ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ وَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ حَتَّى اسْتَقَرَّ كُلُّ مَفْصِلٍ مِنْهُ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ ثُمَّ انْحَطَّ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ حَتَّى سَبَقَتْ رُكْبَتَاهُ يَدَيْهِ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَاللهُ تَعَالَى أَعْلَمُ وَرُوِّينَا عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ وَعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فِي وَضْعِ الرُّكْبَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْيَدَيْنِ مِنْ فِعْلِهِمَا
