bayhaqi:3070Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ > Abū Bakr b. Isḥāq al-Faqīh > Abū Muslim > Ḥajjāj b. Minhāl > Hushaym > Abū Bishr > Saʿīd b. Jubayr > Ibn ʿAbbās

[Machine] This verse was revealed while the Prophet ﷺ was in Mecca, hiding. When he would pray, he would raise his voice, and the polytheists would insult the Quran and those who revealed it. Allah ﷻ then said to his Prophet ﷺ, "And do not speak aloud in your prayer or become silent therein." [Surah Al-Isra' 110] Make your companions listen and seek a way between that. [Surah Al-Isra' 110] Make them listen to the Quran until they leave you alone.

[Machine] "From your companions, hear them recite the Quran and do not raise your voice in recitation. Seek a way between that. He said: He said, regarding the difference between reciting aloud and reciting quietly, it was informed to us by Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz, and it was informed to me by Ahmad ibn Sahl Al-Bukhari, who was informed by Salih ibn Muhammad Al-Hafiz, who was informed by Muhammad ibn Al-Sabbaah, who was informed by Hushaym, and he mentioned it."

[Machine] "Abu Abdullah is Al-Bushanji, may Allah have mercy on him. Balat is a place in Al-Madinah, near the market. The sheikh, may Allah have mercy on him, said that at the time Omar made his public declaration, there was not the same level of fear from the disbelievers as there was at the time the verse was revealed."
