٢٧۔ كِتَابُ مَعْرِفَةِ الصَّحَابَةِ ؓ ص ٥٠

[Machine] As for the two sheikhs, they did not mention anything beyond the virtues. We have started in the first mention of the companion by discussing his lineage and death, then we mentioned what is valid about their conditions from their virtues that they did not mention. So I did not forget to mention Muhammad ibn Umar al-Waqidi and his peers in knowledge.

أَمَّا الشَّيْخَانِ فَإِنَّهُمَا لَمْ يَزِيدَا عَلَى الْمَنَاقِبِ، وَقَدْ بَدَأْنَا فِي أَوَّلِ ذِكْرِ الصَّحَابِيِّ بِمَعْرِفَةِ نَسَبِهِ وَوَفَاتِهِ، ثُمَّ بِمَا يَصِحُّ عَلَى شَرْطِهِمَا مِنْ مَنَاقِبِهِ مِمَّا لَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ فَلَمْ أَسْتَغْنِ عَنْ ذِكْرِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْوَاقِدِيِّ وَأَقْرَانِهِ فِي الْمَعْرِفَةِ

[Machine] I heard Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Sulaiman bin Jafar bin Sulaiman Al Hashimi saying, "Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , was born thirty-three years after the birth of the Prophet ﷺ ."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Take the letter with you." He said, "Shall I take one of them who can withstand his companion?" Then the Prophet ﷺ sent Asma bint Abi Bakr and said, "Bring me their news." So Asma went back to the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr was with him. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, bring a tied female camel." He loaded her onto it and took it towards the sea. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abu Bakr, "O Abu Bakr, they are the first ones to migrate after Lot and Abraham (peace be upon them). May peace and blessings be upon them." This portion has been omitted by Al-Dhahabi in the summary.

لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اخْرُجْ بِرُقَيَّةَ مَعَكَ» قَالَ أَخَالُ وَاحِدًا مِنْكُمَا يَصْبِرُ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ «ائْتِنِي بِخَبَرِهِمَا» فَرَجَعَتْ أَسْمَاءُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَعِنْدَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَخْرِجَ حِمَارًا مُوكَفًا فَحَمَلَهَا عَلَيْهِ وَأَخَذَ بِهَا نَحْوَ الْبَحْرِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا أَبَا بَكْرْ إِنَّهُمَا لَأَوَّلُ مَنْ هَاجَرَ بَعْدَ لُوطٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِمَا الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ» حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص

[Machine] Ruqayyah lived until Uthman married her and a boy named Abdullah was born to her. Abdullah died at a young age and Uthman was thereafter called Abu Abdullah. Ibn Ishaq said, "Some knowledgeable people informed me that some young Ethiopians saw Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, while she was there with Uthman. She was one of the most beautiful people, and they were amazed by her beauty until Allah killed them in battle when the Abyssinian ruler marched against them." Ibn Ishaq also said, "It is said that Abdullah ibn Uthman died in Jumada al-Ula in the year four, when he was only six years old." Al-Dhahabi omitted this information in his abridged version.

«عَاشَتْ رُقَيَّةُ حَتَّى تَزَوَّجَهَا عُثْمَانُ وَوُلِدَ مِنْ رُقَيَّةَ غُلَامٌ يُسَمَّى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ وَمَاتَ وَهُوَ صَغِيرٌ وَكَانَ عُثْمَانُ يُكَنَّى بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ» قَالَ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ «وَحَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ أَنَّ فِتْيَةً مِنَ الْحَبَشَةِ رَأَوْا رُقَيَّةَ بِنْتَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهِيَ هُنَاكَ مَعَ عُثْمَانَ وَكَانَتْ مِنْ أَحْسَنِ الْبَشَرِ وَكَانُوا يَخْتَلِفُونَ إِلَيْهَا فَيَتَحَيَّرُونَ عَجَبًا مِنْ حُسْنِهَا إِلَى أَنْ قَتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي الْمَعْرَكَةِ لَمَّا سَارَ النَّجَاشِيُّ إِلَى عَدُوِّهِ» قَالَ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ «وَيُقَالُ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُثْمَانَ مَاتَ فِي جُمَادَى الْأُولَى سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سِتِّ سِنِينَ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

[Machine] The Prophet (pbuh) left Uthman and Usama bin Zaid to take care of Ruqayyah during her illness. He then went to the Battle of Badr while she was still ill. Zaid bin Haritha came with the news of victory while carrying Ruqayyah's funeral. We heard the sound of joy and we didn't believe the news of victory until we saw the prisoners. The gold remained silent about it in the summary.

«خَلَفَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عُثْمَانَ وَأُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ عَلَى رُقَيَّةَ فِي مَرَضِهَا وَخَرَجَ إِلَى بَدْرٍ وَهِيَ وَجِعَةٌ فَجَاءَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ عَلَى الْعَضْبَاءِ بِالْبِشَارَةِ وَقَدْ مَاتَتْ رُقَيَّةُ فَسَمِعْنَا الْهَيْعَةَ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا صَدَّقْنَا بِالْبِشَارَةِ حَتَّى رَأَيْنَا الْأُسَارَى» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

[Machine] "When Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , passed away, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'A man who has caused harm to his family should not enter the gravesite tonight.' Therefore, Uthman did not enter the gravesite."

[Machine] I witnessed the burial of the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting by the grave, and I saw tears in his eyes. He said, "Is there anyone among you who has not been intimate with his wife tonight?" Abu Talha replied, "I have not, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Then go down into her grave."

شَهِدْتُ دَفْنَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ عَلَى الْقَبْرِ وَرَأَيْتُ عَيْنَيْهِ تَدْمَعَانِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ لَمْ يُقَارِفَ اللَّيْلَةَ أَهْلَهُ؟» فَقَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «فَانْزِلْ فِي قَبْرِهَا»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم

[Machine] I entered upon Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, the wife of Uthman, and in her hand was a comb. She said, "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, left from me earlier and I combed his hair." He said to me, "How do you find Abu Abdullah (referring to Uthman)?" I said, "Good." He said, "Honor him, for he is most similar to me in character among my companions."

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رُقَيَّةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ امْرَأَةِ عُثْمَانَ وَبِيَدِهَا مُشْطٌ فَقَالَتْ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ عِنْدِي آنِفًا رَجَّلْتُ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ لِي «كَيْفَ تَجِدِينَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ؟» قُلْتُ بِخَيْرٍ قَالَ «أَكْرِمِيهِ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَشْبَهِ أَصْحَابِي بِي خُلُقًا»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَاهِي الْمَتْنِ فَإِنَّ رُقَيَّةَ مَاتَتْ سَنَةَ ثَلَاثٍ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ عِنْدَ فَتْحِ بَدْرٍ وَأَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ إِنَّمَا أَسْلَمَ بَعْدَ فَتْحِ خَيْبَرَ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ وَقَدْ كَتَبْنَاهُ بِإِسْنَادٍ آخَرَ صحيح منكر المتن

[Machine] "I entered upon Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and she had a comb in her hand. She said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left from my presence a little while ago, and I combed his hair.' He said to me, 'How do you find Uthman?' I said, 'In a good state.' He said, 'Honor him, for he is one who resembles my companions the most in character.'"

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رُقَيَّةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَبِيَدِهَا مُشْطٌ فَقَالَتْ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ عِنْدِي آنِفًا فَرَجَّلْتُ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ لِي «كَيْفَ تَجِدِينَ عُثْمَانَ؟» قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ بِخَيْرٍ قَالَ «أَكْرِمِيهِ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَشْبَهِ أَصْحَابِي بِي خُلُقًا»  

قَالَ الْحَاكِمُ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى «وَلَا أَشُكُّ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ مُتَقَدِّمٍ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى رُقَيَّةَ لَكِنِّي قَدْ طَلَبْتُهُ جَهْدِي فَلَمْ أَجِدْهُ فِي الْوَقْتِ» حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص

[Machine] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ assigned a share of the spoils of war from the Battle of Badr to Uthman. At that time, Uthman had been delayed due to the sickness of his wife, Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She had contracted measles. Zaid ibn Harithah came with glad tidings of victory, along with a grave shroud, while Uthman was burying Ruqayyah." This part has been omitted by Al-Dhahabi in his summarization."  

الحاكم:٦٨٥٦أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي نَصْرٍ الْمُزَكِّي وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَلِيمٍ الْمَرْوَزِيَّانِ بِمَرْوَ قَالَا أنبأ أَبُو الْمُوَجِّهُ أنبأ عَبْدَانُ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ وَقَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَبَلَغَنَا وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَسَمَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ لِعُثْمَانَ سَهْمَهُ وَكَانَ قَدْ تَخَلَّفَ عَلَى امْرَأَتِهِ رُقَيَّةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَصَابَتْهَا حَصْبَةٌ فَجَاءَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ بَشِيرًا بِالْفَتْحِ وَمَعَهُ بَدَنَةٌ وَعُثْمَانُ عَلَى قَبْرِ رُقَيَّةَ يَدْفِنُهَا» حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص

[Machine] And the name of Umm Kulthum, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , is Ummayyah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married her to Uthman after the death of Ruqayyah in the month of Rabi'al-Awwal. She entered upon him in Jumada al-Akhirah in the eighth year, and she passed away while she was with Uthman in Sha'ban of the ninth year. She was Umm Atiyya al-Ansariyya, who was the one who washed her body with the women of the Ansar.

«وَاسْمُ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أُمَيَّةُ زَوَّجَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ عُثْمَانَ بَعْدَ رُقَيَّةَ فِي شَهْرِ رَبِيعٍ الْأَوَّلِ وَدَخَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ فِي جُمَادَى الْآخِرَةِ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ وَتُوُفِّيَتْ وَهِيَ عِنْدَ عُثْمَانَ فِي شَعْبَانَ سَنَةَ تِسْعٍ وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةُ الَّتِي هِيَ غَسَّلَتْهَا فِي نِسْوَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ»

[Machine] Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , passed away and Uthman married Umm Kulthum, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص

[Machine] When Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, died, Umar passed by Uthman and asked him, "Do you have any interest in marrying Hafsah, the daughter of Umar?" Uthman did not respond to him. Umar then went to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Perhaps Allah, the Exalted, will bring you a son-in-law who is better for you than Uthman." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married Umar's daughter and also married Uthman with Umm Kulthum. Abu Bakr had proposed to her before, and Umar also proposed to her, but she was not married. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best intermediary for Uthman is that I marry my daughters, but Allah, the Exalted, arranges their marriages." [This part has been abridged by Al-Dhahabi]

لَمَّا مَاتَتْ رُقَيَّةُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَرَّ عُمَرُ بِعُثْمَانَ وَقَالَ هَلْ لَكَ فِي حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ عُمَرَ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئًا فَأَتَى عُمَرُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَعَلَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يَا عُمَرُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَكَ بِصِهْرٍ هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنْ عُثْمَانَ» فَتَزَوَّجُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِابْنَةِ عُمَرَ وَزَوَّجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ مِنْ عُثْمَانَ وَقَدْ كَانَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ خَطَبَهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَخَطَبَهَا عُمَرُ فَلَمْ يُزَوِّجْهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «خَيْرُ الشَّفِيعِ لِعُثْمَانَ مَا أَنَا أُزَوِّجُ بَنَاتِي وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى يُزَوِّجُهُنَّ» حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ met Uthman bin Affan while he was sad, so he said, "What's wrong, Uthman?" Uthman said, "By my father, O Messenger of Allah, and by my mother, has anyone been visited by people as I have been visited? My wife, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , has passed away, may Allah have mercy upon her, and the relationship between us has been severed forever." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you say that, Uthman, while Jibril ﷺ is commanding me on behalf of Allah the Almighty to marry her sister, Umm Kulthum, to you for a bridal gift and with a marriage agreement like hers?" So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married her to him.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَقِيَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ وَهُوَ مَغْمُومٌ فَقَالَ «مَا شَأْنُكَ يَا عُثْمَانُ؟» قَالَ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَأُمِّي هَلْ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ مَا دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ تُوُفِّيَتْ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَحِمَهَا اللَّهُ وَانْقَطَعَ الصِّهْرُ فِيمَا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكَ إِلَى آخِرِ الْأَبَدِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَتَقُولُ ذَلِكَ يَا عُثْمَانُ وَهَذَا جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ يَأْمُرُنِي عَنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ ﷻ أَنْ أُزَوِّجَكَ أُخْتَهَا أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ عَلَى مِثْلِ صَدَاقِهَا وَعَلَى مِثْلِ عِدَّتِهَا» فَزَوَّجَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِيَّاهَاحذفه الذهبي من التلخيص

[Machine] Regarding silk, do women wear it or not? It was claimed that Anas ibn Malik narrated that he saw Umm Kulthum, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , wearing a silk dress.

[Machine] From Umm Kulthum bint Al-Nabi (the Prophet's daughter), she said: "O Messenger of Allah, is my husband better or the husband of Fatimah?" The Prophet ﷺ remained silent, then said, "Your husband is one who loves Allah and His Messenger, and whom Allah and His Messenger love." She turned to leave, and he said to her, "Come back, what did you say?" She said, "I said, 'My husband is one who loves Allah and His Messenger, and whom Allah and His Messenger love.'" He replied, "Yes, and I tell you more: I entered Paradise and saw his place, and I did not see anyone from my companions who is higher in status than him." This narration was omitted from Al-Dhahabi's summary.

عَنْ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَوْجِي خَيْرٌ أَو زَوْجُ فَاطِمَةَ؟ قَالَتْ فَسَكَتَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ «زَوْجُكِ مِمَنْ يُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيُحِبُّهُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ» فَوَلَّتْ فَقَالَ لَهَا «هَلُمِّي مَاذَا قُلْتُ؟» قَالَتْ قُلْتَ زَوْجِي مِمَنْ يُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيُحِبُّهُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَأَزِيدُكِ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَرَأَيْتُ مَنْزِلَهُ وَلَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِي يَعْلُوهُ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ» حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص  

27.366 [Machine] Mentioning the daughters of Abd al-Muttalib, the maternal aunts of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, along with his cousins. Among them is his aunt Safiyyah bint Abd al-Muttalib, the sister of Hamzah, and the mother of Zubayr ibn al-Awwam, may Allah be pleased with them all.

٢٧۔٣٦٦ ذِكْرُ بَنَاتِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ عَمَّاتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ «وَبَنَاتِ عَمِّهِ وَأَقَارِبِهِ فَمِنْهُنَّ عَمَّتُهُ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ أُخْتُ حَمْزَةَ، وَأُمُّ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ ؓ أَجْمَعِينَ»

[Machine] "None of the daughters of Abd al-Muttalib embraced Islam except for Safiyyah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, 'And she has two shares.' She was the sister of Hamza ibn Abd al-Muttalib from her father and mother."

[Machine] "Safiyyah bint Abd Al-Muttalib, the mother of Zubayr ibn al-Awam, died at the age of twenty. She passed away on the same day that her daughter, Thalathin, died. Umar ibn al-Khattab prayed the funeral prayer for her and she was buried in al-Baqi' cemetery."

«تُوُفِّيَتْ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ أُمُّ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ سَنَةَ عِشْرِينَ وَهِيَ يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَتْ بِنْتُ ثَلَاثٍ وَسَبْعِينَ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَدَفَنَهَا بِالْبَقِيعِ»

[Machine] Safiyyah, the daughter of Abdul-Muttalib bin Hashim and her mother Hala bint Wuhayb bin Abd Manaf bin Zuhrah bin Kilab, is the sister of Hamza bin Abdul-Muttalib. In the era of ignorance, her husband was Harith bin Harb bin Umayyah bin Abd Shams, and she gave birth to Safiyyan for him. Then, Awam bin Khulaid bin Usayd succeeded him, and she gave birth to Zubair and As-Sa'ib for him. She embraced Islam, pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , migrated to Medina, and lived until the caliphate of Umar bin Khattab. She narrated from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .

«وَصَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ وَأُمُّهَا هَالَةُ بِنْتُ وُهَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَافِ بْنِ زُهْرَةَ بْنِ كِلَابٍ وَهِيَ أُخْتُ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ لِأُمِّهِ كَانَ تَزَوَّجَهَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ حَرْبِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ شَمْسٍ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ صَفِيًّا ثُمَّ خَلَفَ عَلَيْهَا الْعَوَّامُ بْنُ خُوَيْلِدِ بْنِ أُسَيْدٍ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ الزُّبَيْرَ وَالسَّائِبَ وَعَبْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ وَأَسْلَمَتْ وَبَايَعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهَاجَرَتْ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَعَاشَتْ بَعْدَهُ إِلَى خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ وَرَوَتْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the trench, he put his wives in a place called "Fari"' and he placed Hassan ibn Thabit with them. The Jews came to the place seeking the attention of the Prophet's wives. A man from the place confronted us, so I said to Hassan, "O Hassan, stand up and deal with him." He replied, "By Allah, I would not do that even if it were done to me, and if it were done to me, I would have been with the Prophet ﷺ ." I said to him, "Tie this sword on my arm." He tied it for me, and I started approaching the man, hitting his head until I severed it. Then I said to Hassan, "Grab his ears and throw them at them." He replied, "By Allah, I would not do that even if it were done to me." So I took the man's head and threw it at them, causing them to retreat while saying, "We have known that Muhammad would never leave his family vulnerable with no one by their side." It was said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to send Hassan with him when the polytheists intensified their attacks, and he would stay with us in the fort. And when the Prophet returned, he would return behind him just as the Prophet would, and he would pass by us. Saad ibn Mu'adh also passed by us, having taken a banner, while he was at a wedding just a few days ago and he was adorning himself. He recited the verses from Surah Al-Rojz, "And when the wave covers them like shades, they say, 'Pray to your Lord.'" Aisha said, "I have never seen a man more beautiful than him on that day."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَمَّا خَرَجَ إِلَى الْخَنْدَقِ جَعَلَ نِسَاءَهُ فِي أُطُمٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ فَارِعٌ وَجَعَلَ مَعَهُنَّ حَسَّانَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ فَجَاءَ الْيَهُودُ إِلَى الْأُطُمِ يَلْتَمِسُونَ غِرَّةَ نِسَاءِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَتَرَقَّى إِنْسَانُ مِنَ الْأُطُمِ عَلَيْنَا فَقُلْتُ لَهُ يَا حَسَّانُ قُمْ إِلَيْهِ فَاقْتُلْهُ فَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ مَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِيَّ وَلَوْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِيَّ لَكُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ ارْبِطْ هَذَا السَّيْفِ عَلَى ذِرَاعِي فَرَبَطَهُ فَقُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَضَرَبْتُ رَأْسَهُ حَتَّى قَطَعْتُهُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ خُذْ بِأُذُنَيْهِ فَارْمِ بِهِ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ مَا ذَلِكَ فِيَّ فَأَخَذْتُ بِرَأْسِهِ فَرَمَيْتُ بِهِ عَلَيْهِمْ فَتَضَعْضَعُوا وَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ قَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا لَمْ يَكُنْ لِيَتْرُكَ أَهْلَهُ خُلُوفًا لَيْسَ مَعَهُنَّ أَحَدٌ قَالَتْ «وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا اشْتَدَّ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ شَدَّ حَسَّانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ مَعَنَا فِي الْحِصْنِ فَإِذَا رَجَعَ رَجَعَ وَرَاءَهُ كَمَا يَرْجِعُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ ثَمَّ فَمَرَّ بِنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ وَقَدْ أَخَذَ صُفْرَةً وَهُوَ بِعُرْسٍ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ بِأَيَّامٍ وَهُوَ يَرْتَجِزُ [البحر الرجز] مَهْلًا قَلِيلًا يَلْحَقِ الْهَيْجَا جَمَلْ لَا بَأْسَ بِالْمَوْتِ إِذَا حَلَّ الْأَجَلْ» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ «فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَجُلًا أَجْمَلَ مِنْهُ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ كَبِيرٌ غَرِيبٌ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ بِإِسْنَادٍ صَحِيحٍغريب وقد روي بإسناد صحيح

[Machine] "Urwah heard her say, 'I am the first woman who killed a man. I was at the fortress of Hassan ibn Thabit when Hassan was with us among the women and children during the Battle of the Trench, led by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.' Safiyyah said, 'Then a Jewish man passed by the fortress and started roaming around it. I said to Hassan, 'This Jew is in the fortress, as you can see, and I do not feel safe that he will expose our vulnerabilities, especially since the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and his companions are occupied elsewhere. So go and kill him.' Hassan said, 'May Allah forgive you, daughter of Abdul-Muttalib. By Allah, you know that I am not capable of doing that.' Safiyyah said, 'When he said that and I saw that he had nothing with him, I got angry and took a stick from the fortress. Then I went down from the fortress towards him and beat him with the stick until I killed him. Then I returned to the fortress and said to Hassan, 'Hassan, come down and take possession of him. It was only because he was a man that he prevented me from doing so.' He said, 'I have no need to possess him.'"

عُرْوَةُ وَسَمِعْتُهَا تَقُولُ «أَنَا أَوَّلُ امْرَأَةٍ قَتَلَتْ رَجُلًا كُنْتُ فِي فَارِعٍ حِصْنِ حَسَّانَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ وَكَانَ حَسَّانُ مَعَنَا فِي النِّسَاءِ وَالصِّبْيَانِ حِينَ خَنْدَقَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ» قَالَتْ صَفِيَّةُ فَمَرَّ بِنَا رَجُلٌ مَنْ يهُودَ فَجَعَلَ يُطِيفُ بِالْحِصْنِ فَقُلْتُ لِحَسَّانَ إِنَّ هَذَا الْيَهُودِيَّ بِالْحِصْنِ كَمَا تَرَى وَلَا آمَنُهُ أَنْ يَدُلَّ عَلَى عَوْرَاتِنَا وَقَدْ شُغِلَ عَنَّا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابُهُ فَقُمْ إِلَيْهِ فَاقْتُلْهُ فَقَالَ يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لَكِ يَا بِنْتَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَرَفْتِ مَا أَنَا بِصَاحِبِ هَذَا قَالَتْ صَفِيَّةُ فَلَمَّا قَالَ ذَلِكَ وَلَمْ أَرَ عِنْدَهُ شَيْئًا احْتَجَزْتُ وَأَخَذْتُ عَمُودًا مِنَ الْحِصْنِ ثُمَّ نَزَلْتُ مِنَ الْحِصْنِ إِلَيْهِ فَضَرَبْتُهُ بِالْعَمُودِ حَتَّى قَتَلْتُهُ ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ إِلَى الْحِصْنِ فَقُلْتُ يَا حَسَّانُ انْزِلْ فَاسْتَلِبْهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي أَنْ أَسْلُبَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ مَا لِي بِسَلَبِهِ مِنْ حَاجَةٍ

[Machine] The Quraysh did not deny the prayer of Duha, but they denied its timing. "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, would disperse to the valleys to pray in solitude or in pairs when the time of Asr prayer came." Tuleib bin Umair and Hataab bin Abd Shams went to pray in the Asjnad valley, some of them looking at others, when Ibn Al-Asaydee and Ibn Al-Qabtiyyah attacked them as they were committing immoral acts. They pelted them with stones for some time until they left. They then went to Abu Jahl, Abu Lahab, and Uqbah bin Abi Muayt and told them the news. They gathered and set out to attack them at dawn, while they were leaving in the darkness of the morning to perform ablution and pray. While they were in the valleys, Abu Jahl, Uqbah, Abu Lahab, and some of their foolish companions attacked and beat them. The companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, defended themselves, spoke about Islam, called out to them, and defended themselves. Tuleib bin Umair went to attack Abu Jahl, hitting him and injuring him. They took hold of him and bound him. Abu Lahab stood in front of him to protect him. He was his nephew. It was said to Arwa bint Abdul Muttalib, "Do you not see your son Tuleib following Muhammad, becoming a target for him?" Arwa had already converted to Islam. She said, "The best days for Tuleib are those when he is defending his cousin, who has brought the truth from Allah the Exalted." They said, "Have you followed Muhammad?" She said, "Yes." Some of them went to Abu Lahab and informed him. He approached her and said, "How amazing that you, along with your allegiance to Muhammad, have left the religion of Abdul Muttalib." She replied, "It was like that. So stand with your nephew and support him. Prevent him. If his situation becomes evident, then you will be in the best position, should you wish to join him or remain on your own religion. If you do not, then you would have excused your nephew." He said, "We have enough power among the Arabs altogether." Then they said, "He has come with a new religion." He said, "Then Abu Lahab left, saying, 'I have not found her Islam except in Al-Waqidi's account.'"

كَانَتْ قُرَيْشٌ لَا تُنْكِرُ صَلَاةَ الضُّحَى إِنَّمَا تُنْكِرُ الْوَقْتَ «وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا جَاءَ وَقْتُ الْعَصْرِ تَفَرَّقُوا إِلَى الشِّعَابِ فَصَلَّوْا فُرَادَى وَمَثْنَى» فَمَشَى طُلَيْبُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ وَحَاطِبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ شَمْسٍ يُصَلُّونَ بِشِعْبِ أَجْنَادٍ بَعْضُهُمْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْبَعْضِ إِذْ هَجَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ ابْنُ الْأُصَيْدِيِّ وَابْنُ الْقِبْطِيَّةِ وَكَانَا فَاحِشَيْنِ فَرَمَوْهُمْ بِالْحِجَارَةِ سَاعَةً حَتَّى خَرَجَا وَانْصَرَفَا وَهُمَا يَشْتَدَّانِ وَأَتَيَا أَبَا جَهْلٍ وَأَبَا لَهَبٍ وَعُقْبَةَ بْنَ أَبِي مُعَيْطٍ فَذَكَرُوا لَهُمُ الْخَبَرَ فَانْطَلَقُوا لَهُمْ فِي الصُّبْحِ وَكَانُوا يَخْرُجُونَ فِي غَلَسِ الصُّبْحِ فَيَتَوَضَّئُونَ وَيُصَلُّونَ فَبَيْنَمَا هُمْ فِي شِعْبٍ إِذْ هَجَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَبُو جَهْلٍ وَعُقْبَةُ وَأَبُو لَهَبٍ وَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ سُفَهَائِهِمْ فَبَطَشُوا بِهِمْ فَنَالُوا مِنْهُمْ وَأَظْهَرَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْإِسْلَامَ وَتَكَلَّمُوا بِهِ وَنَادَوْهُمْ وَذَبُّوا عَنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَتَعَمَّدَ طُلَيْبُ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ إِلَى أَبِي جَهْلٍ فَضَرَبَهُ فَشَجَّهُ فَأَخَذُوهُ وَأَوْثَقُوهُ فَقَامَ دُونَهُ أَبُو لَهَبٍ حَتَّى حَلَّهُ وَكَانَ ابْنَ أَخِيهِ فَقِيلَ لِأَرْوَى بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ أَلَا تَرَيْنَ إِلَى ابْنِكِ طُلَيْبٍ قَدِ اتَّبَعَ مُحَمَّدًا وَصَارَ عَرَضًا لَهُ وَكَانَتْ أَرْوَى قَدْ أَسْلَمَتْ فَقَالَتْ خَيْرُ أَيَّامِ طُلَيْبٍ يَوْمٌ يَذُبُّ عَنِ ابْنِ خَالِهِ وَقَدْ جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى فَقَالُوا وَقَدِ اتَّبَعْتِ مُحَمَّدًا؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَخَرَجَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى أَبِي لَهَبٍ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَأَقْبَلَ حَتَّى دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ عَجَبًا لَكِ وَلِاتِّبَاعِكِ مُحَمَّدًا وَتَرَكْتِ دِينَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ قَالَتْ قَدْ كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَقُمْ دُونَ ابْنِ أَخِيكَ فَاعْضُدْهُ وَامْنَعْهُ فَإِنْ ظَهَرَ أَمْرُهُ فَأَنْتَ بِالْخِيَارِ إِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تَدْخُلَ مَعَهُ أَوْ تَكُونَ عَلَى دِينِكَ وَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ كُنْتَ قَدْ أَعْذَرْتَ ابْنَ أَخِيكَ قَالَ وَلَنَا طَاقَةٌ بِالْعَرَبِ قَاطِبَةً ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُ جَاءَ بِدِيِنٍ مُحْدَثٍ قَالَ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ أَبُو لَهَبٍلم أجد إسلامها إلا عند الواقدي

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ proposed to his uncle Abu Talib's daughter, Umm Hani, before receiving revelation. He proposed her with Hubayrah ibn Abi Wahb present, and Hubayrah married her. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "O Umar, you married Hubayrah and left me!" Umar replied, "O nephew, I arranged their marriage and the generous person accommodates the generous. Then Umm Hani embraced Islam, and Islam separated her from Hubayrah. The Prophet ﷺ proposed to her himself, and she said, "By Allah, I used to love you during the time of ignorance, so how can I not love you in Islam? However, I am a woman prone to headaches, and I do not want you to be bothered by my illness."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَطَبَ إِلَى عَمِّهِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُوحَى إِلَيْهِ وَخَطَبَهَا مَعَهُ هُبَيْرَةُ بْنُ أَبِي وَهْبٍ فَزَوَّجَهَا هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَا عُمَرُ زَوَّجْتَ هُبَيْرَةَ وَتَرَكْتَنِي» فَقَالَ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي أَنَا صَاهَرْتُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَالْكَرِيمُ يُكَافِئُ الْكَرِيمَ ثُمَّ أَسْلَمَتْ فَفَرَّقَ الْإِسْلَامُ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ هُبَيْرَةَ فَخَطَبَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى نَفْسِهَا فَقَالَتْ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ لَأُحِبُّكَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَكَيْفَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ لَكِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ مُصْبِيَةٌ فَأَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُؤْذُوكَ الْحَدِيثَحذفه الذهبي من التلخيص

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ proposed to me, but I declined and made an excuse. Then Allah, the Almighty, revealed, 'O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given their due compensation' (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:50) until the part that says, 'who emigrated with you' (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:50). I said, 'It was not permissible for him (the Prophet) to marry me because I did not emigrate with him, as I was among the divorced women.' Adh-Dhahabi remained silent about this in his summary."

Ibn Abbas came out saying, 'I have read what is between the two covers (of the Quran) and I did not come across the prayer of Ishraq except at a specific time.' (As Allah says in Surah An-Nahl, verse 18), 'They arise from [their] beds; they supplicate their Lord in fear and aspiration.' Then Ibn Abbas said, 'This is the prayer of Ishraq.' Abdullah ibn Abbas also narrated another hadith from Umm Hanee, which Adh-Dhahabi did not include in his summary."

أُمُّ هَانِئٍ «دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي بَيْتِي فَصَلَّى صَلَاةَ الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ» فَخَرَجَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «لَقَدْ قَرَأْتُ مَا بَيْنَ اللَّوْحَيْنِ فَمَا عَرَفْتُ صَلَاةَ الْإِشْرَاقِ إِلَّا السَّاعَةَ» {يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِشْرَاقِ} [ص 18] ثُمَّ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ «هَذِهِ صَلَاةُ الْإِشْرَاقِ» وَقَدْ رَوَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ حَدِيثًا آخَرَ سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

[Machine] I heard my mother, Umm Hani' bint Abi Talib, saying that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Indeed, Allah Almighty has favored the Quraysh with seven qualities that He did not grant to anyone before them or will grant to anyone after them. Among these qualities is that they were given prophethood and the honor of being custodians of the Kaaba, and they were also aided against the people of the elephant (in the Battle of the Elephant). They worship no one but Allah, and for ten years they worshipped Allah alone without associating partners with Him. And a Surah (chapter) was revealed concerning them in which no one else was mentioned, because of the alliance of Quraysh."

This has been narrated by Yahya ibn Ja'dah ibn Hubayrah, from his grandmother Umm Hani'.

I said, "The hadith is as mentioned, so we do not repeat it here, so ponder." Al-Hakim said.

[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah instructed her to move to the house of Ibn Umm Maktum when her husband divorced her. Marwan said, "Yes, that is what he commanded them." Urwah said, "By Allah, Aisha was greatly offended by that, and she said, 'Indeed, Fatimah used to live with her husband in a place that was wild and dangerous, and that is why the Messenger of Allah gave her permission to move.'"

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَنْتَقِلَ حِينَ طَلَّقَهَا زَوْجُهَا إِلَى ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ» فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ أَجَلْ هِيَ أَمَرَتْهُنَّ بِذَلِكَ قَالَ عُرْوَةُ فَقُلْتُ أَمَا وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَابَتْ ذَلِكَ عَائِشَةُ أَشَدَّ الْعَيْبِ وَقَالَتْ «إِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ كَانَتْ مَعَ زَوْجِهَا فِي مَكَانٍ وَحْشٍ فَخِيفَ عَلَى نَاحِيَتِهَا وَلِذَلِكَ أَرْخَصَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ بِهَذِهِ السِّيَاقَةِ صحيح

So the Prophet ﷺ consulted her and said, 'As for Muawiyah, he has good manners but no wealth, and as for Abu Jahl, I fear his harsh behavior towards you.' So he ordered me to marry Usama ibn Zaid, and I married Usama ibn Zaid. Jabir ibn Abdullah narrated this from Fatimah bint Qays."

وَقَالَ فِي آخِرِهِ فَلَمَّا انْقَضَتْ عِدَّتُهَا خَطَبَهَا أَبُو جَهْمٍ وَمُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ فَاسْتَأْمَرَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَمَّا مُعَاوِيَةُ فَصُعْلُوكٌ لَا مَالَ لَهُ وَأَمَّا أَبُو جَهْمٍ فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكِ شَقَاشِقَهُ» فَأَمَرَنِي بِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَتَزَوَّجْتُ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ وَقَدْ رَوَى جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍسكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

[Machine] Fatimah bint Qais came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "I am experiencing istihadah (non-menstrual bleeding)." He said, "That is not menstruation, rather it is a vein. So when the days of your regular menstruation come, then refrain from prayers. Afterward, bathe yourself and seek purification with a cloth and then perform prayers."

جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ قَيْسٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ قَالَ «لَيْسَ ذَاكَ بِالْحَيْضِ إِنَّمَا هُوَ عِرْقٌ لِتَقْعُدْ أَيَّامَ أَقْرَائِهَا ثُمَّ تَغْتَسِلْ ثُمَّ تَسْتَثْفِرْ بِثَوْبٍ وَتُصَلِّي»

[Machine] Fatimah bint Qais consulted the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I have menstruation, so I am not pure. Should I leave prayer?" He responded, "That is just a vein, not menstruation. Performing a complete ablution is sufficient."

أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ قَيْسٍ اسْتَفْتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ «إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ لَيْسَ بِالْحَيْضِ وَغُسْلٌ وَاحِدٌ أَتَمُّ مِنَ الْوضُوءِ»

[Machine] A man from the Ansar was affected by an ant, leading him to think that healing comes from Bint Abdullah, so he went to her and asked her to heal him. She replied that she has not performed any healings since she embraced Islam. The Ansari man then went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and informed him about what Bint Abdullah had said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for Bint Abdullah and said, "Present yourself to me." She presented herself to him, and he said, "Perform the healing and teach it to Hafsah as you have taught her the Quran."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ خَرَجَتْ بِهِ نَمْلَةٌ فَدُلَّ أَنَّ الشِّفَاءَ بِنْتَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ تَرْقِي مِنَ النَّمْلَةِ فَجَاءَهَا فَسَأَلَهَا أَنْ تَرْقِيَهُ فَقَالَتْ وَاللَّهِ مَا رَقِيتُ مُنْذُ أَسْلَمْتُ فَذَهَبَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِالَّذِي قَالَتْ الشِّفَاءُ فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الشِّفَاءَ فَقَالَ «اعْرِضِي عَلَيَّ» فَأَعْرَضَتْهَا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «أَرْقِيهِ وَعَلَّمِيهَا حَفْصَةَ كَمَا عَلَّمْتِيهَا الْكِتَابَ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَقَدْ سَمِعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ مِنْ جَدَّتِهِ على شرط البخاري ومسلم

[Machine] She used to seek protection through charms in the pre-Islamic era. But when Islam came, she said, "I will not seek protection until I seek the permission of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." The Prophet ﷺ then told her, "Seek protection with what does not involve associating partners with Allah, the Almighty."

أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَرْقِي بِرُقَيَةٍ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَلَمَّا أَنْ جَاءَ الْإِسْلَامُ قَالَتْ لَا أَرْقِي حَتَّى أَسْتَأْمِرَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «ارْقِي مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ شِرْكٌ بِاللَّهِ ﷻ»

[Machine] "And when she migrated to the Prophet ﷺ, she came to him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I used to perform magical spells during the pre-Islamic period, and I thought of presenting it to you.' He said, 'Present it.' So she presented it to him, and among it was the spell of the ant. He said, 'Perform it and teach it to Hafsah. In the name of Allah, the crosses and knots break when one recites it, and it does not harm anyone. O Allah, remove the affliction, O Lord of the people.' He said, 'Recite it seven times on a qarn karm (type of tree branch) and place it in a clean spot. Then, rub it on a stone and anoint it on the locus.' Ibn Ma'een was asked about Uthman, but he did not recognize him."

وَأَنَّهَا لَمَّا هَاجَرَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَدِمَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَرْقِي بِرُقًى فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَنْ أَعْرِضَهَا عَلَيْكَ فَقَالَ «اعْرِضِيهَا» فَعَرَضَتْهَا عَلَيْهِ وَكَانَتْ مِنْهَا رُقْيَةُ النَّمْلَةِ فَقَالَ ارْقِي بِهَا وَعَلِّمِيهَا حَفْصَةَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ صَلُوبٌ حِينَ يَعُودُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهَا وَلَا تَضُرُّ أَحَدًا اللَّهُمَّ اكْشِفِ الْبَأْسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ قَالَ «تَرْقِي بِهَا عَلَى عُودِ كَرْمٍ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَتَضَعُهُ مَكَانًا نَظِيفًا ثُمَّ تُدَلِّكُهُ عَلَى حَجَرٍ وَتَطْلِيهِ عَلَى النَّوْرَةِ» سئل ابن معين عن عثمان فلم يعرفه

[Machine] "I came one day and entered upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , so I asked him and complained to him. He began to apologize to me, and I started blaming him. Then the first prayer time came, so I entered my daughter's house, and she was with Shurahbil ibn Hasana. I found her husband in the house, so I blamed him and said, 'The prayer time has come and you are here.' He said, 'O aunt, do not blame me. I had two garments, and one of them was borrowed by the Prophet ﷺ .' I said, 'I blame him, and this is his affair.' Shurahbil said, 'One of them was actually a shield, so we tore it apart.'"

«جِئْتُ يَوْمًا حَتَّى دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَأَلْتُهُ وَشَكَوْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَجَعَلَ يَعْتَذِرُ إِلَيَّ وَجَعَلْتُ أَلُومُهُ» قَالَتْ ثُمَّ حَانَتِ الصَّلَاةُ الْأُولَى فَدَخَلْتُ بَيْتَ ابْنَتِي وَهِيَ عِنْدَ شُرَحْبِيلَ ابْنِ حَسَنَةَ فَوَجَدْتُ زَوْجَهَا فِي الْبَيْتِ فَجَعَلْتُ أَلُومُهُ وَقُلْتُ حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَأَنْتَ هَاهُنَا فَقَالَ يَا عَمَّةُ لَا تَلُومِينِي كَانَ لِي ثَوْبَانِ اسْتَعَارَ أَحَدُهُمَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي أَنَا أَلُومُهُ وَهَذَا شَأْنُهُ فَقَالَ شُرَحْبِيلُ إِنَّمَا كَانَ أَحَدُهُمَا دِرْعًا فَرَقَّعْنَاهُ حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص

[Machine] "From his mother, Umm Abdullah, bint Abi Hathmah, she said, 'By Allah, we used to travel to the land of Habasha (Ethiopia) when Amr was present to fulfill some of our needs. Then Umar ibn Al-Khattab came forward and stood in front of me while he was still a polytheist. We used to face hardship and difficulty because of him, so he asked, "Is it true that you will be leaving, O Umm Abdullah?" I said, "Yes, by Allah, we will leave because you have hurt us and oppressed us until Allah provides us with a way out." He said, "May Allah be your companion," and I saw gentleness in him that I had never seen before. Then he left, and he was saddened by our departure. Then Amr ibn Rabee'ah came for his need, so I said, "O Abu Abdullah, if only you had seen Umar's concern and sadness for us." He said, "Do you hope for his Islam?" I said, "Yes." He said, "The one you saw will not embrace Islam until the camel of Al-Khattab embraces Islam." Then he said it with despair because of what he saw from Umar's harshness and severity towards Islam."

عَنْ أُمِّهِ أُمِّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِنْتِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ قَالَتْ وَاللَّهِ إِنَّا لَنَرْحَلُ إِلَى أَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ فَقَدْ ذَهَبَ عَامِرٌ فِي بَعْضِ حَاجَتِنَا إِذْ أَقْبَلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ حَتَّى وَقَفَ عَلَيَّ وَهُوَ عَلَى شِرْكِهِ وَكُنَّا نَلْقَى مِنْهُ الْبَلَاءَ وَالشِّدَّةَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ الِانْطِلَاقُ يَا أُمَّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ؟ فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ وَاللَّهِ لَنَخْرُجَنَّ فِي أَرْضِ اللَّهِ آذَيْتُمُونَا وَقَهَرْتُمُونَا حَتَّى يَجْعَلَ اللَّهُ لَنَا مَخْرَجًا فَقَالَ صَحِبَكُمُ اللَّهُ وَرَأَيْتُ لَهُ رِقَّةً لَمْ أَكُنْ أُرَاهَا ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ وَقَدْ أَحْزَنَهُ فِيمَا أَرَى خُرُوجُنَا قَالَ فَجَاءَ عَامِرُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ مِنْ حَاجَتِهِ تِلْكَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ لَوْ رَأَيْتَ عُمَرَ آنِفًا وَرِقَّتَهُ وَحُزْنَهُ عَلَيْنَا قَالَ فَتَطْمَعِي فِي إِسْلَامِهِ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ لَا يُسْلِمُ الَّذِي رَأَيْتِ حَتَّى يُسْلِمَ جَمَلُ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ يَائِسًا مِنْهُ مِمَّا كَانَ يَرَى مِنْ غِلْظَتِهِ وَقَسْوَتِهِ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

الحاكم:٦٨٩٦حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَرْبِيُّ ثَنَا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ

«وَمِنْهُنَّ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ الْخَطَّابِ بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ امْرَأَةُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ وَكَانَتْ قَدْ أَسْلَمَتْ قَبْلَ عُمَرَ وَكَانَتْ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الْمُبَايِعَاتِ بِمَكَّةَ»
