27. Book of the Companions
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "An angel descended from the heavens and sought permission from Allah to greet me. No angel had ever descended before that. The angel gave me glad tidings that Fatimah is the leader of the women of the people of Paradise." This narration was transmitted by Abu Maryam al-Ansari from al-Minhaal, and it is authentic.
[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, he said, "An angel descended from heaven and sought permission from Allah to greet me. No angel had descended before him. He gave me the glad tidings that Fatimah is the leader of the women of Paradise."
[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ told me: "The first people to enter paradise are me, Fatimah, Hasan, and Husain." I asked, "O messenger of Allah, what about our lovers?" He replied, "They are behind you." This hadith has a authentic chain of narration and it has not been classified as rejected.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and placed his leg between me and Fatimah. He taught us what to say when we go to our bed. He said, "O Fatimah, when both of you are in your place, then say 'SubhanAllah' (Glory be to Allah) thirty-three times, 'Alhamdulillah' (Praise be to Allah) thirty-three times, and 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the Greatest) thirty-four times." Ali said, "By Allah, I have never left it since." Then, a man who had something on his mind or was doubtful said, "And not even on the night of Siffin?" Ali replied, "Not even on the night of Siffin." It is Sahih (authentic) according to the conditions of the two Sheikhs (Al-Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not include it in their collections.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon Fatimah and I was with him. She had taken a golden necklace from her neck, and she said, "Abu Hassan gave this as a gift to me." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Fatimah, would it please you if people said, 'Fatimah, daughter of Muhammad,' while you have a necklace of fire in your hand?" Then he left without sitting. Fatimah then hurried to the necklace, sold it, and bought a slave whom she freed. When the Prophet ﷺ was informed about this, he said, "All praise is due to Allah, who saved Fatimah from the Fire." This hadith is considered authentic according to the conditions of the two sheikhs (referring to Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim), but it is not mentioned in their collections.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Fatimah safeguarded her chastity, so Allah has made her descendants forbidden from the Hellfire."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prophets will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment riding on animals, in order to meet and gather the believers from their communities in the gathering place. Prophet Saleh will be resurrected on his camel, and I will be resurrected on Al-Buraq, the step of which reaches the farthest point, and Fatimah will be resurrected in front of me."
[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying: "On the Day of Resurrection, a caller will call from behind the veil, 'O people in the gathering, lower your gazes from Fatimah, the daughter of Muhammad ﷺ , until she passes by.'"
"Fatimah bint Hubairah came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] with a big ring on her hand." He (the narrator) said: "This is what I found in the book of my father, a huge ring."- "The Messenger of Allah [SAW] started hitting her hand, so she entered upon Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah [SAW], and complained to her about what the Messenger of Allah [SAW] had done. Fatimah took off a gold chain from her neck and said: 'This was given to me by Abu Hasan.' The Messenger of Allah [SAW] came in and ﷺ the chain in her hand. He said: 'O Fatimah, would you like the people to say that the daughter of the Messenger of Allah [SAW] has a chain of fire in her hand?' Then he went out, without sitting down. Fatimah sent the chain to the market and sold it, and she bought a slave with the money, and set him free. He was told of that and he said: 'Praise be to Allah, Who has saved Fatimah from the Fire.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5140)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Fatimah, "Indeed, Allah becomes angry when you become angry, and He becomes pleased when you are pleased."
[Machine] "I entered with my mother to Aisha, and I heard her from behind the veil asking her about Ali. She said, 'You ask me about a man, by Allah, I do not know a man who was more beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than Ali, nor a woman on earth who was more beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than his wife.'"
[Machine] She said, "I have never seen anyone speak and converse more closely to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than Fatimah. Whenever she entered upon him, he would receive her warmly, stand up to greet her, take her hand, and kiss her, then he would make her sit with him in his gathering."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Fatimah is the leader of the women of Paradise, except for Maryam bint Imran."
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "Indeed, Fatimah is a part of me. She gives me joy when she is happy, and she brings me sorrow when she is sad."
[Machine] "Fatimah was the beloved of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ among women, and Ali was among the men."
[Machine] He entered upon Fatima, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Fatima, by Allah, I have not seen anyone more beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than you. And by Allah, no one among the people after your father ﷺ is more beloved to me than you."
[Machine] I heard Abu Tha'labah Al-Khushani saying that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would enter the mosque after returning from a battle or a journey, and he would pray two units of prayer. Then he would bow in front of Fatimah and then visit his wives. When he returned home, Fatimah met him at the door of the house, and she covered her mouth with her cloak and her eyes were shedding tears. He said to her, "O my daughter, what makes you cry?" She said, "O Messenger of Allah, don't I see you tired and your clothes are dusty?" He said, "So don't cry, for Allah has sent your father for a matter that will not leave any house or hair on the face of the earth, except that Allah will bring honor or humiliation through it, until it reaches where the night reaches."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Jibril (Gabriel) came to me with a handful of Jannah (Paradise) and I ate it on the night of my Mi'raj (Ascension). Khadijah caught the scent of it on Fatimah and whenever I longed for the scent of Jannah, I would smell the neck of Fatimah."
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ used to be the last person to bid farewell to Fatimah when he traveled and the first person to greet her when he returned from a journey."
"Fatimah came to the Prophet (saas) to ask him for a servant, and he said: 'I do not have anything to give you.' So she went back, but after that he came to her and said: 'Is what you asked for dearer to you, or something better than that?' 'Ali said to her: 'Say: something better than that.' So she said it. He said: 'Say: Allahumma Rabbas-samawatis-Sab'i wa Rabbal-'Arshil-'Azim, Rabbana wa Rabba Kulli shay'in, munzil at-Tawrati wal-Injili wal-Qur'anil-'Azim. Antal-Awwalu fa laysa qablaka shay', wa Antal-Akiru fa laysa ba'daka shay', Antaz-Zahiru fa laysa fawqaka shay', wa Antal-Batinu fa laysa dunaka shay', Iqdi 'annad-daina wa aghnina minal-faqr (O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the Mighty Throne, Our Lord, and the Lord of Everything, Revealer of the Tawrah, the Injil and the Magnificent Qur'an. You are the First and there is nothing after You; You are the Last and there is nothing after You. You are the Most High, and there is nothing above You, and You are the Most Near and there is nothing nearer than You. Settle our debts and make us free of want).'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3831)
[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "O my daughter, go and live." Then he went out and entered the mosque, and they lifted their heads and then covered them. Then he took a handful of dust and threw it towards them, and then he said, "The faces have been changed. None of them was affected except that he was killed on the Day of Badr."
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) married his daughter Fatima to Ali ibn Abi Talib and ordered him not to enter upon Fatima until he permits him." This hadith was mentioned with a sound chain of narration and it was not mentioned by Imam Ibn Majah.
[Machine] I entered with my aunt to Aisha, and she was asked which person was the most beloved to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? She said, "Fatimah." It was then asked, "And among the men?" She said, "Her husband, if what I know of him is true, he was a strong and devoted worshipper."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Among the women of the world, four are sufficient for you: Mary, the daughter of Imran; Asiya, the wife of Pharaoh; Khadijah, the daughter of Khuwaylid; and Fatimah, the daughter of Muhammad." This hadith is found in the Musnad of Abu Abdullah Ahmad ibn Hanbal. The mention of it was omitted by Adh-Dhahabi from the summary due to its weakness.
that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Sufficient for you among the women of mankind are Mariam bint 'Imran, Khadijah bint Khuwailid, Fatimah bint Muhammad and Asiyah the wife of Fir'awn." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3878)
[Machine] "He said to him, 'Let him come to me in the darkness.' So, he went to him and praised Allah and spoke highly of him. Then he said, 'After that, by Allah, there is no lineage, nor reason, nor in-law that I love more than your lineage, your reason, and your in-law. However, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Fatimah is a part of me; whoever hurts her, hurts me, and whoever pleases her, pleases me. On the Day of Resurrection, lineages will be cut off except for my lineage, reason, and in-laws.' And you have his daughter, and if I were to marry you to her, that would be acceptable. So, go, you are excused.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pass by the door of Fatimah for six months when he went out for the Fajr prayer. He would say, "O people of the household, prayer! Indeed, Allah desires to remove impurity from you, O people of the household, and purify you with a thorough purification." [Al-Ahzab 33]
[Machine] Ali, the son of Abu Jahl, spoke to his uncle Al-Harith ibn Hisham, seeking advice from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . Ali asked, "Should I marry her, even though I know her social status?" The Prophet replied, "Fatimah (the daughter of the Prophet) is a piece of me. I cannot bear to see her sad or distressed." Ali then said, "I will not do anything that she dislikes."
[Machine] From Abu Hanthalah, a man from the people of Makkah, it is reported that Ali proposed to the daughter of Abu Jahl. Her family said to him, "We will not marry you to the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard about this, he said, "Indeed, Fatimah is a part of me. Whoever harms her has harmed me."
that 'Ali mentioned the daughter of Abu Jahl (for marriage), and that reached the Prophet ﷺ so he said: "Indeed Fatimah is but a part of me, I am harmed by what harms her and I am uncomfortable by what makes her uncomfortable." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3869)
[Machine] "I was at the wedding of Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . When we woke up in the morning, the Prophet ﷺ came to the door and said, 'O Umm Ayman, pray for my brother.' She replied, 'He is your brother and you are marrying him.' He said, 'Yes, O Umm Ayman.' Then Ali came and the Prophet ﷺ poured water on him and prayed for him. Then he said, 'Pray for Fatimah for me.' She hesitated due to shyness, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told her, 'Stay, for I have married you to the most beloved of my family to me.' She said, and the Prophet ﷺ poured water on her. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned and saw someone with a black color in front of him, so he asked, 'Who is this?' I said, 'I am Asma bint Umayz.' He asked, 'Did you come to the wedding of the daughter of the Messenger of Allah?' I answered, 'Yes.' Then he prayed for me." (The last sentence seems to be incorrectly translated)
[Machine] She said, "I have never seen anyone who spoke and conversed more closely to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than Fatimah. Whenever she entered upon him, he would stand up for her, kiss her, welcome her, take her hand, and seat her in his gathering. And when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon her, she would stand up to receive him and kiss his hand."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew four lines on the ground, and then he said, "Do you know what this is?" They replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best women of the people of Paradise are four: Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, Fatimah bint Muhammad, and two others."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah say, "I am the tree, and Fatimah is its branch, and Ali is its sap, and Al-Hasan and Al-Husayn are its fruits, and our Shi'a are its leaves, and the root of the tree is in the Garden of Eden, and the rest of it is in the rest of Paradise." This is an unusual text, and even if that is the case, Isaac Al-Dabari is reliable, and Abdul Razzaq and his father and grandfather are truthful, and the port of the servant of Abdul Rahman ibn Auf has met the Prophet and heard from him, and Allah knows best. This statement was made by a human being other than the ruler, and it is only the opinion of a misguided follower.
[Machine] "When Fatimah, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, was mentioned, she said, "I have not seen anyone who had a more truthful speech than her, except for the one who gave birth to her."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "On the Day of Judgment, it will be said, 'O people of the gathering, lower your gaze so that Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , will pass by.' So she will pass by wearing two green garments." Abu Muslim said, Abu Qilabah told me, and Abd al-Hamid was with us, that he said, 'Wearing red garments.'"
