٢٧۔ كِتَابُ مَعْرِفَةِ الصَّحَابَةِ ؓ
[Machine] "And among those who migrated from the people of Mecca to the land of Abyssinia (Ethiopia) from the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is Khalid ibn Sa'id ibn al-'As ibn Umayyah ibn 'Abd Shams ibn Umayyah ibn 'Abd Manaf, and with him his wife, who gave birth to his son Sa'id ibn Khalid in the land of Abyssinia."
[Machine] "The mother of Khalid ibn Said ibn Al-Aas, Lubaynah, commonly known as the mother of Khalid bint Hubab ibn Abd Yalil ibn Nusheeb ibn Ghayrah ibn Saad ibn Laith ibn Bakr ibn Abd Manat ibn Ali ibn Kinanah ibn Khuzaymah."
[Machine] "Islam, the son of Khalid, was a long-time Muslim, and his first brother who accepted Islam was Aslam. The beginning of his Islam was that he saw in a dream that he was standing on the edge of the Fire, as if his father was pushing him away from it. He also saw that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was holding onto his waist, preventing him from falling. So he woke up in a panic and said, 'I swear by Allah, this is a true vision.' He then met Abu Bakr ibn Abi Quhafa and mentioned it to him. Abu Bakr said, 'I wish good for you. This is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Follow him, for you will surely follow him and enter Islam with him. Islam will protect you from entering it, and your father is already in it.' So Khalid met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in Ajyad, and he said to him, 'O Muhammad, why do you call people?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'I invite them to worship Allah alone, without associating partners with Him, and to testify that Muhammad is His slave and messenger. And I call them to abandon the worship of stones that neither harm nor benefit, and whose true nature is unknown to those who worship them.' Khalid said, 'Indeed, I testify that there is no god but Allah, and I testify that you are the Messenger of Allah.' He then sent his father to seek out his remaining children who had not yet embraced Islam, and he brought them to his father, Abu Uhayha. When Abu Uhayha saw them, he woke up and started crying, and he struck Khalid with a whip in his hand until he broke it on his head. Then he said, 'You have followed Muhammad while you see the opposition of his people and the disgrace of their previous gods.' Khalid said, 'By Allah, I have spoken the truth.' Abu Uhayha became angry and insulted him, and then he said, 'Go, Luka', wherever you like, and I swear by Allah, I will prevent you from your sustenance.' Khalid said, 'If you prevent me, then Allah will provide me with what I need to live.' So Abu Uhayha expelled him and said to his sons, 'Do not speak to him, and if any of you do, I will do to him what I did to him.' Khalid then went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who honored him and allowed him to stay with him."

[Machine] "The successor, who was in the thirteenth year, said, 'The messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away while he was dealing with Yemen.'"

[Machine] "When the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached them, Abu Bakr said, 'No one is more worthy of carrying out the work than the workers of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Go back to your work.' They replied, 'We will not carry out any work after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for anyone,' and they went out to the Levant and were killed, one after another."

[Machine] That Abu Bakr is the one who invited him to Islam until he embraced it.

[Machine] That Khaled Ibn Saeed, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him to Yemen, he arrived after the death of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and waited for two months to pledge allegiance to Khaled Ibn Saeed. He said, "The Prophet ﷺ commanded me, but did not dismiss me until Allah Almighty took him. I met Ali Ibn Abi Talib and Othman Ibn Abd Manaf and said, "O sons of Abd Manaf, you have left yourselves out of your affairs, leaving it to others." Omar conveyed this to Abu Bakr, but Abu Bakr did not take it upon himself. However, Omar did and he sent troops to Sham (Greater Syria). The first person to lead one fourth of the troops was Khaled Ibn Saeed. Omar said, "Should I give instructions to him when he has already done what he did and said what he said?" Abu Bakr remained in power until he dismissed him and ordered Yazid Ibn Abi Sufyan, "Authentic according to the stipulations of Muslim, and he did not exclude it." This is the end of the quote.

[Machine] I heard Ahmed ibn Sayyar saying, "Khalid ibn Sa'id ibn al-'As was born to his father Sa'id twenty sons and twenty daughters. As for Khalid ibn Sa'id, he was killed on the day of Marj al-Suffar in the month of Muharram in the year fourteen, during the Caliphate of Umar ibn al-Khattab."

[Machine] "He (someone) came to the Prophet ﷺ holding a ring in his hand. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, 'What is this ring?' He replied, 'It is a ring that I have obtained.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Throw it away.' So, I threw it towards him, and then it turned out to be an iron ring. The Prophet ﷺ asked, 'What did you engrave on it?' I replied, 'Muhammad, Rasul Allah (Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah).' The Prophet ﷺ took it and used it as his seal until he passed away. It was the ring that was in his hand. (Narrated by Yahya al-Hamani, considered weak)"

[Machine] "He came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he came from the land of Abyssinia, and with him was his daughter Umm Khalid. He brought her to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and she was wearing a yellow shirt that the girl liked because she understood some Abyssinian language. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled at her using Abyssinian words and then said, 'Speak and create, speak and create.' She spoke, by Allah, and then she created. She then went to the back of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and placed her hand on the place of the Prophet's ring. Her father took it and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Leave her.' The chain of this narration is authentic. The two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) agreed to exclude the hadiths of Ishaq bin Sa'id bin Amr bin Sa'id from his father and ancestors in general. This is Umm Khalid bint Khalid bin Sa'id bin Al-'As, whom her father carried when she was a child to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. She later became a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and she narrated hadiths from him, although her narrations are discontinuous."
