[Machine] As for Abu Quhafa Al-Taymi, he is Uthman ibn Amr ibn Amr ibn Kaab ibn Saad ibn Taym ibn Murrah. He embraced Islam on the day of the conquest of Mecca and passed away in Mecca in the month of Muharram, in the fourteenth year of the Hijra. He was ninety-seven years old.
[Machine] Abu Bakr came on the day of the conquest of Mecca with his father Abu Quhafa to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you have settled the sheikh in his house, we would have come to visit him." This is authentic according to the conditions of the two sheikhs (referring to the scholars Al-Bukhari and Muslim) and they did not mention it according to the condition of Al-Bukhari.
[Machine] "I brought my father Quhafah to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he said, 'Why didn't you leave the old man until I come to him?' I said, 'He is more deserving that you should visit him.' He (the Prophet) said, 'We will keep him safe in our hands for his son's service.' This hadith has a strong chain of narration, and Abdullah ibn Abdullah ibn Abdul-Malik al-Fahri did not declare it as fabricated."
[Machine] The name of my father is Quhafa, Othman son of Amer son of Amr son of Kaab son of Saad son of Taym son of Murrah son of Kaab son of Luay son of Ghalib son of Fehr. He embraced Islam on the day of the conquest (of Mecca) and passed away in the month of Muharram in the fourteenth year (of the Islamic calendar) at the age of ninety-seven years.
[Machine] Abu Quhafa, the father of Abu Bakr, passed away in the year seventeen and he was one hundred and four years old.
[Machine] Omar ibn al-Khattab took the hand of Abu Quhafa and brought him to the Prophet ﷺ. When he stood in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Change him and do not bring him close in (his current attire) of black." On the condition of being a Muslim.
[Machine] On the day of the conquest, the Prophet ﷺ brought Abu Quhafa, and his head and beard were gray. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Dye his beard." Adh-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summary.
[Machine] As if I am looking at the beard of my father Abu Quhafa, as if it is a bunch of thorny plants due to its intense redness. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abu Bakr, "If you establish a sheikh in his house, we will visit him as an honor for Abu Bakr." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summary.
[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ passed away, the news reached the people of Makkah. Abu Quhafa al-Ha'iata heard the news and asked, "What is this?" They said, "The Prophet ﷺ has passed away." He said, "Who will take charge after him?" They said, "Your son." He said, "May the sons of Makhzum and the sons of Muqira suffice." They said, "Yes." He said, "O Allah, there is no replacement for what You have taken away, and no substitute for what You have given. When Abu Bakr passed away at the beginning of the year, the news reached the people of Makkah. Abu Quhafa al-Ha'iata heard the news and asked, "What is this?" They said, "Your son has passed away." He said, "A great matter, and the one who came before him had a shorter life than him." He said, "Who will take charge after him?" They said, "Umar ibn al-Khattab." He said, "He is his companion. This is correct according to the condition of the two Shaykhs [Abu Bakr and Umar], and they did not expel him." They did not expel anything for 'Amr ibn Abdullah ibn Sayad.
