27.13 [Machine] Regarding the mention of the withdrawal of Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari and Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari

[Machine] "So, indeed, the commander of the faithful, Ali, directed himself to Kufa to seek allegiance for himself, from Muhammad his son and Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr. Abu Musa al-Ash'ari and Abu Mas'ud were present in Kufa. Abu Musa refused to give allegiance, so they both returned to the commander of the faithful. Then, he sent his son Hasan and Malik al-Ashtar."

[Machine] "When Uthman was killed and Ali was elected, Abu Musa delivered a sermon while he was in Kufa, advising people against fighting and getting involved in strife. Ali then removed him from Kufa and sent Ammar ibn Yasir and Hasan ibn Ali to him. They also removed him and appointed Qarzah ibn Kaab as the governor. He continued to serve as the governor until Ali arrived from Basra several months later. Ali then removed him from his position upon his arrival. When Ali marched towards Siffin, he appointed Uqbah ibn Amr Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari as his deputy, upon his arrival from Siffin."

Note: The sentence at the end seems to be a separate line unrelated to the rest of the text and is attributed to Hitham ibn Adi, and it is not clear for this sentence to be included in the translation.

[Machine] "Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari and Abu Masood Al-Badri entered upon Ammar while he was agitating the people. They said to him, 'We have not seen anything from you since you embraced Islam that we disliked more than your hastiness in this matter.' Ammar replied, 'I have not witnessed anything from the two of you since you embraced Islam that I disliked more than your delay in this matter.' Ammar then covered them with clothes and went out to perform the Friday prayer."
