The love of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ captivated the Banu Qayn tribe. Khadijah bint Khuwaylid bought him with four hundred dirhams. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married her, she gifted him to him.

حِبِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، أَسَرَهُ بَنُو الْقَيْنِ فَاشْتَرَتْهُ خَدِيجَةُ بِنْتُ خُوَيْلِدٍ بِأَرْبَعِ مِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ، فَلَمَّا تَزَوَّجَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهَبَتْهُ لَهُ

[Machine] What we have is better for them, so they agreed until they carried Jabalah and Asma and left Zaid. Then a group of horses from Tihamah, from the Banu Fazara, attacked Tayyi and captured Zaid, and they took him to the market of Ukaz. The Prophet ﷺ saw him before he was sent and said to Khadijah, "O Khadijah, I saw a boy in the market with qualities like Kit and Kait; he has intelligence, good manners, and beauty. If I had wealth, I would buy him." So Khadijah commanded Waraqah bin Nawfal to buy him from her wealth. She said, "O Muhammad, give me this boy as a gift from yourself." The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Khadijah, I only want to adopt him." She agreed, and she raised and adopted him. He was called Zaid bin Muhammad. Then a man from the tribe of Hayy saw Zaid and recognized him, and he said, "Are you Zaid bin Harithah?" Zaid said, "No, I am Zaid bin Muhammad." The man said, "No, you are Zaid bin Harithah, from the lineage of your father and your uncles, Kit and Kait. They have exhausted themselves and spent their wealth for your sake." Then Zaid recited a poem expressing his love for his people. Harithah wept and did not know what to do, whether Zaid was still alive or not. Oh, by Allah, I do not know, but I ask, O Sahl, is the plain easier for you or the mountain? Oh, I wish I knew if you would return to me one day. My sorrow for you is so long, and I wonder, will you ever come back to me? I will strive and never tire of walking the mountains, and I will not tire of making tawaf or the camels. Perhaps death will visit me before you do. Every soul will taste death, so may Allah bless me with a good family and a prosperous offspring. Harithah came to him when he was with his brothers and family in Makkah. He went to the Prophet ﷺ and found him sitting in the courtyard of the Kaaba with a group of his companions, including Zaid bin Harithah. When they saw Zaid, they recognized him, and he recognized them. However, they did not rise in reverence for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They said, "O Zaid!" But he did not respond. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Who are these, O Zaid?" He replied, "O Messenger of Allah, this is my father, my uncle, my brother, and these are my relatives." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Go and greet them, O Zaid." So Zaid stood and greeted them, and they greeted him. Then they said to him, "Come with us, O Zaid." He replied, "I only desire the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; I do not desire anyone else in return." They said, "O Muhammad, we will give you this boy as compensation, so name your price." The Prophet ﷺ said, "I ask you to bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that I am the final Prophet and Messenger, and that you accept Islam. They agreed and accepted Islam. Then they said, "What

مَا عِنْدَنَا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ فَتَرَاضَوْا إِلَى أَنْ حَمَلَ جَبَلَةَ وَأَسْمَاءَ وَخَلَّفِ زَيْدًا وَجَاءَتْ خَيْلٌ مِنْ تِهَامَةَ مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ فَأَغَارَتْ عَلَى طَيِّئٍ فَسَبَتْ زَيْدًا فَصَيَّرُوهُ إِلَى سُوقِ عُكَاظٍ فَرَآهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنِ يُبْعَثَ فَقَالَ لِخَدِيجَةَ «يَا خَدِيجَةُ رَأَيْتُ فِي السُّوقِ غُلَامًا مِنْ صِفَتِهِ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ» يَصِفُ عَقْلًا وَأَدَبًا وَجَمَالًا لَوْ أَنَّ لِي مَالًا لَاشْتَرَيْتُهُ فَأَمَرَتْ وَرَقَةَ بْنَ نَوْفَلٍ فَاشْتَرَاهُ مِنْ مَالِهَا فَقَالَ «يَا خَدِيجَةُ هَبِي لِي هَذَا الْغُلَامَ بِطِيبٍ مِنْ نَفْسِكِ» فَقَالَتْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَرَى غُلَامًا وَضِيئًا وَأَخَافُ أَنْ تَبِيعَهُ أَوْ تَهِبَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَا مُوَفَّقَةُ مَا أَرَدْتُ إِلَّا لَأَتَبَنَّاهُ» فَقَالَتْ نَعَمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَرَبَّاهُ وَتَبَنَّاهُ فَكَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ زَيْدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْحَيِّ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى زَيْدٍ فَعَرَفَهُ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ قَالَ لَا أَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ لَا بَلْ أَنْتَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ مِنْ صِفَةِ أَبِيكَ وَعُمُوَمَتِكَ وَأَخْوَالِكَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ قَدْ أَتْعَبُوا الْأَبْدَانَ وَأَنْفِقُوا الْأَمْوَالَ فِي سَبِيلِكَ فَقَالَ زَيْدٌ [البحر الطويل] أَحِنُّ إِلَى قَوْمِي وَإِنْ كُنْتُ نَائِيًا فَإِنِّي قَطِينُ الْبَيْتِ عِنْدَ الْمَشَاعِرِ وَكُفُّوا مِنَ الْوَجْهِ الَّذِي قَدْ شَجَاكُمْ وَلَا تَعْمَلُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فِعْلَ الْأَبَاعِرِ فَإِنِّي بِحَمْدِ اللَّهَ فِي خَيْرَ أُسْرَةٍ خِيَارَ مَعْدٍ كَابِرًا بَعْدَ كَابِرِ فَقَالَ حَارِثَةُ لَمَّا وَصَلَ إِلَيْهِ [البحر الطويل] بَكَيْتُ عَلَى زَيْدٍ وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا فَعَلْ أَحَيٌّ فَيُرْجَى أَمْ أَتَى دُونَهُ الْأَجَلْ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا أَدْرِي وَإِنِّي لَسَائِلٌ أَغَالَكَ سَهْلُ الْأَرْضِ أَمْ غَالَكَ الْجَبَلْ فَيَا لَيْتَ شِعْرِي هَلْ لَكَ الدَّهْرَ رَجْعَةٌ فَحَسْبِي مِنَ الدُّنْيَا رُجُوعُكَ لِي بَجَلْ تُذَكِّرُنِيهِ الشَّمْسُ عِنْدَ طُلُوعِهَا وَيَعْرِضُ لِي ذِكْرَاهُ إِذْ عَسْعَسَ الطَّفَلْ وَإِذْ هَبَّتِ الْأَرْوَاحُ هَيَّجْنَ ذِكْرَهُ فَيَا طُولَ أَحْزَانِي عَلَيْهِ وَيَا وَجَلْ سَأُعْمِلُ نَصَّ الْعِيسِ فِي الْأَرْضِ جَاهِدًا وَلَا أَسْأَمُ التَّطْوَافَ أَوْ تَسْأَمُ الْإِبِلْ فَيَأْتِيَ أَوْ تَأْتِي عَلَيَّ مَنِيَّتِي وَكُلُّ امْرِئٍ فَانٍ وَإِنْ غَرَّهُ الْأَمَلْ فَقَدِمَ حَارِثَةُ بْنُ شَرَاحِيلَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ فِي إِخْوَتِهِ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي فَنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فِيهِمْ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ فَلَمَّا نَظَرُوا إِلَى زَيْدٍ عَرَفُوهُ وَعَرَفَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَقُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ إِجْلَالًا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا لَهُ يَا زَيْدُ فَلَمْ يُجِبْهُمْ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ يَا زَيْدُ؟» قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا أَبِي وَهَذَا عَمِّي وَهَذَا أَخِي وَهَؤُلَاءِ عَشِيرَتِي فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «قُمْ فَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْهِمْ يَا زَيْدُ» فَقَامَ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَسَلَّمُوا عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالُوا لَهُ امْضِ مَعَنَا يَا زَيْدُ فَقَالَ مَا أُرِيدُ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَدَلًا وَلَا غَيْرِهِ أَحَدًا فَقَالُوا يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّا مُعْطُوكَ بِهَذَا الْغُلَامِ دِيَاتٍ فَسَمِّ مَا شِئْتَ فَإِنَّا حَامِلُوهُ إِلَيْكَ فَقَالَ «أَسْأَلُكُمْ أَنْ تَشْهَدُوا أَنَّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي خَاتَمُ أَنْبِيَائِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَأُرْسِلُهُ مَعَكُمْ» فَتَابُوا وَتَلَكَّئُوا وَتَلَجْلَجُوا فَقَالُوا تَقْبَلُ مِنَّا مَا عَرَضْنَا عَلَيْكَ مِنَ الدَّنَانِيرِ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ «هَا هُنَا خَصْلَةٌ غَيْرُ هَذِهِ قَدْ جَعَلْتُ الْأَمْرَ إِلَيْهِ فَإِنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَقُمْ وَإِنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَدْخُلْ» قَالُوا مَا بَقِيَ شَيْءٌ؟ قَالُوا يَا زَيْدُ قَدْ أَذِنَ لَكَ الْآنَ مُحَمَّدٌ فَانْطَلِقْ مَعَنَا قَالَ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ مَا أُرِيدُ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَدَلًا وَلَا أُؤْثِرُ عَلَيْهِ وَالِدًا وَلَا وَلَدًا فَأَدَارُوهُ وَأَلَاصُوهُ وَاسْتَعْطَفُوهُ وَأَخْبَرُوهُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ مِنْ وُجْدِهِمْ فَأَبَى وَحَلَفَ أَنْ لَا يَلْحَقَهُمْ قَالَ حَارِثَةُ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُوَاسِيكَ بِنَفْسِي أَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَأَبَى الْبَاقُونَ

[Machine] Harithah ibn Sharahil was crying over the loss of his son Zaid, and he said, "I cried over Zaid, but I do not know what happened to him." Then he recited the long poem, which was omitted by Al-Dhahabi in his summary due to its weakness.

[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, send my brother Zaid with me." He said, "He is here. If he wishes, I will not prevent him." Zaid then said, "No, by Allah, I will not choose anyone over you." Jabalah said, "I said, 'Indeed, my brother's opinion is better than mine,' (this hadith is authentic with an unbroken chain of narrators and it is a witness to the previous narration)."

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ابْعَثْ مَعِي أَخِي زَيْدًا فَقَالَ «هُوَ ذَا هُوَ إِنْ أَرَادَ لَمْ أَمْنَعْهُ» فَقَالَ زَيْدٌ لَا وَاللَّهِ لَا أَخْتَارُ عَلَيْكَ أَحَدًا قَالَ جَبَلَةُ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ رَأْيَ أَخِي أَفْضَلُ مِنْ رَأْيِيِ «صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَهُوَ شَاهِدٌ لِلْحَدِيثِ الْمَاضِي» صحيح

سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ «لَمَّا قُتِلَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ وَجَعْفَرُ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ جَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَبِكِيهِمْ وَيُعْرَفُ فِيهِ الْحُزْنُ»

[Machine] Aisha used to say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never sent Zaid bin Harithah to an army without giving him command over it. Even if the Prophet ﷺ had stayed alive after him, he would have appointed him as his successor." Authentic Chain of Narration. They did not exclude him.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "The best of the leaders of the armies is Zaid bin Harithah; he is fair and just with his subjects." This is in his narration from Al-Waqidi.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out while having a companion. They went to a certain idol from the idols, so they slaughtered a sheep for it and placed it in the oven until it was cooked. When it was cooked, they took it out and placed it in their bags. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then proceeded, while walking slowly, during the hot days of Mecca until they reached the highest part of the valley. There, they met Zaid bin Amr bin Nufayl, who greeted one of them with the pre-Islamic greeting. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "Why do I see your people abandoning you?" He replied, "By Allah, it is not that they have abandoned me, but rather, it is because I see them deviating from the right path." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I went out in search of this religion until I reached the tribes of Yathrib, and I found them worshipping Allah alone, but associating partners with Him. I said, 'What kind of religion is this that I am seeking?' Then, I traveled to the tribes of Ayla and found them worshipping Allah alone, but associating partners with Him. I said, 'What kind of religion is this that I am seeking?' A scholar from the scholars of Sham said to me, 'Indeed, you are asking about a religion that no one knows except a respected old man in the peninsula.' So, I traveled until I reached him and informed him of my purpose. He said to me, 'Indeed, all those who you have seen in misguidance, asking about a religion that is the religion of Allah and His angels. There has come out in your land a Prophet or a Prophet-like person calling to this religion. Return to him, believe in him, and follow him.' So, I returned, and I did not do anything good afterwards. I carried the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the camel he was riding, and we presented to him the cooked sheep that we had. He asked, 'What is this?' We replied, 'This is a sheep we slaughtered for the idol of such and such.' He said, 'Indeed, I do not eat anything that was slaughtered for other than Allah.' This idol was made of copper, called Asaf, and its handle was made of neem tree branches. The polytheists would anoint themselves with it when they circumambulated the Ka'bah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then circumambulated it, and I also did, touching it as I passed by. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do not touch it.' Zaid said, 'We completed the Tawaf, and I said to myself that I would touch it again to see what he says.' So, I touched it, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Did I not forbid you from doing so?' Zaid said, 'By the One who has honored him and revealed the Book to him, I have not touched an idol until Allah honored him with what He has honored him and revealed the Book to him.' Zaid bin Amr bin Nufayl died before the Prophet's message was revealed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A nation will come on the Day of Judgment, but he will be alone.' This Hadith is Sahih according to the conditions of Muslim, but they did not include it in his collection. Whoever ponders over this Hadith will understand the virtue of Zaid and his early acceptance of Islam before the invitation to it.

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُرْدِفِي إِلَى نُصُبٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَابِ فَذَبَحْنَا لَهُ شَاةً وَوَضَعْنَاهَا فِي التَّنُّورِ حَتَّى إِذَا نَضِجَتِ اسْتَخْرَجْنَاهَا فَجَعَلْنَاهَا فِي سُفْرَتِنَا ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَسِيرُ وَهُوَ مُرْدِفِي فِي أَيَّامِ الْحَرِّ مِنْ أَيَّامِ مَكَّةَ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِأَعْلَى الْوَادِي لَقِيَ فِيهِ زَيْدَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ فَحَيَّا أَحَدُهُمَا الْآخَرَ بِتَحِيَّةِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا لِي أَرَى قَوْمَكَ قَدْ شَنَفُوكَ؟» قَالَ أَمَا وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لِتَغَيُّرِ ثَائِرَةٍ كَانَتْ مِنِّي إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَكِنِّي أَرَاهُمْ عَلَى ضَلَالَةٍ قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ أَبْتَغِي هَذَا الدِّينَ حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ عَلَى أَحْبَارِ يَثْرِبَ فَوَجَدْتُهُمْ يَعْبُدُونَ اللَّهَ وَيُشْرِكُونَ بِهِ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا بِالدِّينِ الَّذِي أَبْتَغِي فَخَرَجْتُ حَتَّى أَقْدَمَ عَلَى أَحْبَارِ أَيْلَةَ فَوَجَدْتُهُمْ يَعْبُدُونَ اللَّهَ وَيُشْرِكُونَ بِهِ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا بِالدِّينِ الَّذِي أَبْتَغِي فَقَالَ لِي حَبْرٌ مِنْ أَحْبَارِ الشَّامِ إِنَّكَ تَسْأَلُ عَنْ دِينٍ مَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ بِهِ إِلَّا شَيْخًا بِالْجَزِيرَةِ فَخَرَجْتُ حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ الَّذِي خَرَجْتُ لَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ كُلَّ مَنْ رَأَيْتَهُ فِي ضَلَالَةٍ إِنَّكَ تَسْأَلُ عَنْ دِينٍ هُوَ دِينُ اللَّهِ وَدِينُ مَلَائِكَتِهِ وَقَدْ خَرَجَ فِي أَرْضِكَ نَبِيٌّ أَوْ هُوَ خَارِجٌ يَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِ وَصَدِّقْهُ وَاتَّبِعْهُ وَآمِنَ بِمَا جَاءَ بِهِ فَرَجَعْتُ فَلَمْ أُحْسِنْ شَيْئًا بَعْدُ فَأَنَاخَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَعِيرَ الَّذِي كَانَ تَحْتَهُ ثُمَّ قَدَّمْنَا إِلَيْهِ السُّفْرَةَ الَّتِي كَانَ فِيهَا الشِّوَاءُ فَقَالَ مَا هَذِهِ؟ فَقُلْنَا «هَذِهِ شَاةٌ ذَبَحْنَاهَا لِنُصُبِ كَذَا وَكَذَا» فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَا آكُلَ مَا ذُبِحَ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ وَكَانَ صَنَمًا مِنْ نُحَاسٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ إِسَافُ وَنَائِلَةُ يَتَمَسَّحُ بِهِ الْمُشْرِكُونَ إِذَا طَافُوا فَطَافَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَطُفْتُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا مَرَرْتُ مَسَحْتُ بِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَمَسَّهُ» قَالَ زَيْدٌ فَطُفْنَا فَقُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي لَأَمَسَّنَّهُ حَتَّى أَنْظُرَ مَا يَقُولُ فَمَسَحْتُهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَلَمْ تُنْهَ؟» قَالَ زَيْدٌ فَوَالَّذِي أَكْرَمَهُ وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْكِتَابَ مَا اسْتَلَمْتُ صَنَمًا حَتَّى أَكْرَمَهُ اللَّهُ بِالَّذِي أَكْرَمَهُ وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْكِتَابَ وَمَاتَ زَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُبْعَثَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أُمَّةً وَحْدَهُ» صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَمَنْ تَأَمَّلَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَرَفَ فَضْلَ زَيْدِ وَتَقَدُّمَهُ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ قَبْلَ الدَّعْوَةِ على شرط مسلم

[Machine] Jafar said, "I love you all for the sake of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." Ali said, "I love you all for the sake of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." Zaid said, "I love you all for the sake of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." They said, "So come with us to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." I then went out and returned and said, "This is Jafar, Ali, and Zaid bin Harithah seeking permission." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give them permission." So they entered and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have come to ask you, who do you love the most among people?" He said, "Fatimah." They asked, "We are asking you about men." He said, "As for you, O Jafar, you resemble my appearance and my manners. And as for you, O Ali, you are my brother and father to my children, and you are from me and I am from you. And as for you, O Zaid, you are my mawla (close friend or loyalist) and from me and I am from you, and you are the most beloved to me among people."

جَعْفَرٌ أَنَا أَحَبُّكُمْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ أَنَا أَحَبُّكُمْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ زَيْدٌ أَنَا أَحَبُّكُمْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَانْطَلِقُوا بِنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا جَعْفَرٌ وَعَلِيٌّ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ يَسْتَأْذِنُونَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «ائْذَنْ لَهُمْ» فَدَخَلُوا فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ جِئْنَاكَ نَسْأَلُكَ مَنْ أَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «فَاطِمَةُ» قَالُوا نَسْأَلُكَ عَنِ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ «أَمَا أَنْتَ يَا جَعْفَرُ فَيُشْبِهُ خَلْقَكَ خَلْقِي وَيُشْبِهُ خُلُقَكَ خُلُقِي وَأَنْتَ إِلَيَّ وَمِنْ شَجَرَتِي وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا عَلِيُّ فَأَخِي وَأَبُو وَلَدَيَّ وَمِنِّي وَإِلَيَّ وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا زَيْدُ فَمَوْلَايَ وَمِنِّي وَإِلَيَّ وَأَحَبُّ الْقَوْمِ إِلَيَّ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط مسلم

[Machine] From the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , it is narrated that, "In the early stages of revelation, he was taught the methods of ablution, prayer, and the principles of Islam." Al-Dhahabi excluded this from his summary due to its weakness.

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the Battle of Badr, he sent two announcers to the people of Madinah. He sent Zaid bin Harithah to the people of the lower part and he sent Abdullah bin Rawahah to the people of the upper part, informing them of the victory of Allah for His Prophet ﷺ . Zaid bin Harithah agreed with his son Usamah when they were burying Rukayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and it was said to him, "This is your father when he just arrived." Usamah replied, "I came while he was standing with the people, saying, 'Utbah bin Rabiah, Shaybah bin Rabiah, Abu Jahl bin Hisham, Nabih and Munabbih, and Umayyah bin Khalaf have been killed.' So I asked, 'O my father, is this more deserving?' He said, 'Yes, by Allah, O my son.'"

لَمَّا فَرَغَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ بَدْرٍ بَعَثَ بَشِيرَيْنِ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَدِينَةٍ بَعَثَ زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ إِلَى أَهْلِ السَّافِلَةِ وَبَعَثَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ رَوَاحَةَ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْعَالِيَةِ يُبَشِّرُونَهُمْ بِفَتْحِ اللَّهِ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ ﷺ فَوَافَقَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ ابْنَهُ أُسَامَةَ حِينَ سَوَّى التُّرَابَ عَلَى رُقْيَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقِيلَ لَهُ ذَاكَ أَبُوكَ حِينَ قَدِمَ قَالَ أُسَامَةُ فَجِئْتُ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ لِلنَّاسِ يَقُولُ قُتِلَ عُتْبَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ وَشَيْبَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ وَأَبُو جَهْلِ بْنُ هِشَامٍ وَنَبِيُّهُ وَمُنَبِّهٌ وَأُمَيَّةُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَتِ أَحَقٌّ هَذَا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَاللَّهِ يَا بُنَيَّ

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الْبُخَارِيِّ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري

[Machine] "I participated in seven battles with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I participated in nine battles with Zaid ibn Harithah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to assign him to lead us." This is an authentic hadith according to the conditions of the two Sheikhs, and they did not include it. It is mentioned in Bukhari's Thulathiyaat.  

الحاكم:٤٩٦١أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْقَنْطَرِيُّ بِبَرَدَانَ ثنا أَبُو قِلَابَةَ ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ قَالَ

«غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَبْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ وَمَعَ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ تِسْعَ غَزَوَاتٍ كَانَ يُؤَمَّرُهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَيْنَا» صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ هو في البخاري في الثلاثيات

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ did not appoint Zaid as a commander of any expedition except after ordering him to do so." This is authentic based on the condition of the two sheikhs, and they did not reject it.  

الحاكم:٤٩٦٢حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ بِبُخَارَى ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ ثنا حَامِدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْبَلْخِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

«مَا بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ زَيْدًا فِي سَرِيَّةٍ إِلَّا أَمَّرَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ» صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ

[Machine] "Two garments were presented to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , so he took one of them and gave the other one to Zaid. This narration is considered authentic according to the conditions set by the two Sheikhs (referring to Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim), but it was not included in their collections."  

الحاكم:٤٩٦٣أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي دَارِمٍ الْحَافِظُ بِالْكُوفَةِ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ التَّمِيمِيُّ بِالْكُوفَةِ ثنا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْحَنَفِيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ السَّبِيعِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ أَخِي زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ قَالَ

«أُهْدِيَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ حُلَّتَانِ فَأَخَذَ إِحْدَاهُمَا وَأَعْطَى زَيْدًا الْأُخْرَى» صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم
