[Machine] As for the two sheikhs, they did not mention anything beyond the virtues. We have started in the first mention of the companion by discussing his lineage and death, then we mentioned what is valid about their conditions from their virtues that they did not mention. So I did not forget to mention Muhammad ibn Umar al-Waqidi and his peers in knowledge.
Ali quoting his father said: Rukanah wrestled with the Prophet ﷺ and the Prophet ﷺ threw him on the ground. Rukanah said: I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: The difference between us and the polytheists is that we wear turbans over caps. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4078)

27.178 [Machine] The Mention of the Virtues of Amr ibn al-Aas
[Machine] Amr Ibn Al-Aas passed away in the year fifty-one, Allah knows best.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The two sons of Al-Aas are believers, Hisham and Amr." Adh-Dhahabi remained silent about them in his summary.
[Machine] "To my son Abdullah: If I die, wash me, shroud me, and tie my waistcloth or waistband tightly around me, for I am a debtor. When you wash me, hasten with my funeral procession. When you place me in the prayer area on the day of celebration, whether it is Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha, look at the paths. If there is no one left and the people have gathered, begin with the funeral prayer for me, then offer the Eid prayer. When you place me in my grave, bury me with soil, and know that my right side is not more deserving of soil than my left side. After you have leveled the soil on my grave, sit by it facing towards the direction of a slaughtered animal's throat and its dismemberment, for I will find solace in your company." This is what Adh-Dhahabi omitted in his summary.

[Machine] "Kilo Malii" They weighed it and found it to be 52 mudds. He said, "Who will take it for its value? Oh, how I wish it was a camel." He said, and the mudd was sixteen Uqiyas, each Uqiya of it is equivalent to the weight of two Askiya gold coins. The summary does not mention what the goldsmith said.

His brothers through his mother are Amr, son of Uthatha, son of Abbadd, son of Abdul-Muttalib, son of Abd Manaf, son of Qusay, and Unayf, son of Abi Al-Aas, son of Umayyah, son of Abd Shams. There are different opinions regarding the timing of his death."

[Machine] "He passed away in the year fifty-one, and the most accurate information I heard at the time of the death of Amr ibn Al-Aas."

[Machine] I heard Yahya bin Ma'in say, "Amr bin Al-Aas died in the year forty-three and was buried in Egypt."
[Machine] "Amr ibn al-Aas ibn Wa'il came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year eight. He was known as Abu Abdullah and he passed away in Egypt on the day of Eid in the year forty-two, and he was seventy years old."
[Machine] "I went intentionally to meet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to convert (to Islam). I encountered Khalid ibn Al-Walid before the conquest (of Mecca), while he was approaching from Mecca. I asked, 'Where are you heading, O Abu Sulayman?' He replied, 'By Allah, the landmark (Meesam) has been established, and indeed, the man is a Prophet. I will go and, by Allah, I will convert.' I asked him, 'Until when?' He said, 'And I, by Allah, have come only to convert.' So we proceeded to meet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Khalid ibn Al-Walid took the lead and accepted Islam and pledged his allegiance. Then I approached and pledged allegiance to him, and then I left."

«كَانَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ قَصِيرًا دَحْدَاحًا»
[Machine] "What is this, O Abu Abdullah?" So the Commander of the Believers said, "I would like you to see from me what remains." Umar did not forbid him from doing that and did not blame him for it. Umar ibn Al-Khattab died at the age of around one hundred years. Al-Dhahabi remained silent about summarizing it.
[Machine] His son Abdullah said to him: "Describe death to us, and may your mind be with you." He replied, "O my son, death is more inevitable than being described. However, I will describe to you a part of it. I feel as if mountains of radiance are on my neck, and I feel as if the thorns of weapons are in my chest, and I feel as if my soul is coming out of the eye of a needle." Al-Dhahabi remained silent about this in his summary.

[Machine] He said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Amr ibn Al-Aas to Bahrain. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on a military expedition and we went with him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a nap and then woke up and said, 'May Allah have mercy on 'Amr.' We mentioned every person named 'Amr' and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell asleep again. He woke up and said, 'May Allah have mercy on 'Amr.' Then he fell asleep for the third time and woke up saying, 'May Allah have mercy on 'Amr.' So we asked, 'Who is 'Amr, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'Amr ibn Al-Aas.' We asked, 'What is his state?' He said, 'I remember that whenever I would encourage the people to give charity, he would bring a lot of charity and I would ask him, 'From where did you get this?' and he would say, 'From Allah.' And 'Amr was indeed a pious person.' Zuhayr said, 'When the tribulation arose, I said, 'I will follow the one whom the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has spoken highly of and I will never abandon him.'"

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he once delayed the Isha prayer until a short while past midnight, and the people were waiting in the mosque. He asked, "What are you waiting for?" [Machine] We invaded Constantinople, and with us was Abu Ayub al-Ansari. We formed two rows, and I have never seen two rows longer than them. Abu Ayub al-Ansari died during this expedition and he left a will to be buried at the foot of the walls of Constantinople and for his debt to be paid, and that was carried out.

[Machine] "My brother, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , stood between Abu Ayyub and Mus'ab bin Umair. Abu Ayyub witnessed the battles of Badr, Uhud, Al-Khandaq, and all the other expeditions with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He passed away during the reign of his father Muawiyah, in the year 52 AH. His grave is located in the original fortress of Constantinople, in the land of Rome. It is mentioned that people take care of his grave, visit it, and seek rain from it when they suffer from drought."

[Machine] Abu Ayub witnessed the Battle of Badr with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he did not miss any of the Muslim military expeditions except for one year. He was appointed as a young man in the army that year, so he stayed back. After that, he became eager and would say, "I do not want to be left behind when I am called upon." Then he fell ill while Yazid ibn Muawiya was leading the army. He went to visit him and asked, "What do you need?" Abu Ayub replied, "If I die, put me on a mount and continue to advance into the enemy's land until you find a suitable place. If you do not find a suitable place, bury me and then return." Abu Ayub used to say that Allah Almighty stated in the Quran, "March forth, whether light or heavy." (Surah At-Tawbah, 9:41) Al-Dhahabi did not mention this narration in his summarized version.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, used to visit Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari in a room. His food was in a basket in the alcove. It used to come from the upper part of the house until it took the food from the basket. Abu Ayyub complained about this to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "That is a jinn. When it comes, tell it that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, has commanded you not to come back." So when it came, Abu Ayyub said to it, "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, has commanded you not to come back." It said, "O Abu Ayyub, let me go this time, and I swear by Allah, I will not return." Abu Ayyub left it. Then he came to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and informed him about it. The jinn said the same thing twice, and then it asked him, "Would you like me to teach you some words that if you say them, Satan will not come near your house tonight, tomorrow, and the next day?" He said, "Yes." She said, "Recite Ayat al-Kursi: Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence." [Quran 2:255]. He came to the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and informed him. The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "She has told the truth, even though she is a liar."

Whenever Abu Ayyub would eat food, he would send some of it to the Prophet ﷺ , who would eat from the place where his hand had touched. One day, Abu Ayyub made a dish that had garlic in it, and he sent it to the Prophet ﷺ . The Prophet ﷺ returned it and came to him, and Abu Ayyub said, "O Messenger of Allah, I did not see any traces of your fingers on it." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "There was garlic in it." Shu'bah asked in his narration, "Is it forbidden?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No." Hammaad mentioned in his narration, "O Messenger of Allah, you sent me something that you did not eat." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "You are not like me, as the angels come to me."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stayed with me for a month, and I observed his every action. I saw him, when the sun set or moved away, reject worldly possessions if they were in his hands, and if he was sleeping, he would be awakened and stand up to perform ablution and pray. Then he would perform four units of prayer, perfecting and beautifying them. When he intended to depart, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, you stayed with me for a month, and I wished that you stayed longer. So, I observed your every action, and I saw you, when the sun set or moved away, reject worldly possessions if they were in your hands and focus on prayer." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the gates of heaven are opened at that hour. So, do not miss the opportunity to have the gates of heaven and the gates of Paradise opened for you until you perform this prayer." He then said, "I loved to ascend to my Lord in those hours, as it is better and my actions would be raised at the beginning of the actions of the worshippers." [Machine] That Abu Ayyub Khalid bin Zaid, who was a messenger of Allah ﷺ , stayed in his house when he went to invade the land of the Romans. He passed by Muawiyah, and Muawiyah ignored him. Then he returned from his campaign, and Muawiyah ignored him again and did not offer his greetings. Abu Ayyub said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us that we would witness hardships after him." Muawiyah asked, "What did he command you to do?" Abu Ayyub said, "He commanded us to be patient." Muawiyah replied, "Then be patient." Abdullah bin Abbas came to Basrah, and Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) gave him orders to do so. Abbas said, "O Abu Ayyub, I want to let you leave my house just as you left the house of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." He ordered his family to leave, and they left, giving him everything they had in the house. When it was time for him to depart, Ali asked him, "What is your need?" Abu Ayyub replied, "My need is my provision and eight servants to work on my land." His provision was originally four thousand, and Ali doubled it five times for him and gave him twenty thousand and forty servants. "This hadith has been transmitted with a continuous and authentic chain, and I have prepared it for the additional narrations in it with this chain.
