[Machine] As for the two sheikhs, they did not mention anything beyond the virtues. We have started in the first mention of the companion by discussing his lineage and death, then we mentioned what is valid about their conditions from their virtues that they did not mention. So I did not forget to mention Muhammad ibn Umar al-Waqidi and his peers in knowledge.

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ sent a man who had embraced Islam on the day of Ashura, and he said, "Whoever has eaten or drank, let him complete his fast, and whoever has not eaten, let him fast for the rest of the day." It has been mentioned before that Asmaa' was the messenger in this narration, and it is also narrated that it was Hind.

[Machine] I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night to the mosque and he performed the last Isha prayer until there was no one left in the mosque except him. He then passed by me and asked, "Who is this?" I replied, "Abdullah." He said, "Welcome." I said, "My father has commanded me to stay with you tonight." He said, "Really?" When he entered, he said, "Make way for the slave of Allah." I brought a cushion made of palm fibers for him. Abbas approached me and said, "Do not sleep until you have memorized his prayer." The Prophet ﷺ approached and slept until I heard him snoring. Then he sat on his bed and raised his head towards the sky and said, "Glory be to the Holy King" three times. Then he recited the following verse from the last part of Surah Al-Imran until the end, "Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth" (Quran 2:164). Then he stood up and performed ablution with his siwak, then he entered his prayer area and performed two units of prayer that were neither too short nor too long. He said, "I prayed" and then performed the Witr prayer. After completing it, I heard him saying, "O Allah, make light in my sight, make light in my hearing, make light in my tongue, make light in my heart, make light on my right, make light on my left, make light in front of me, make light behind me, make light above me, make light below me, and make the day I meet You a light-filled day. Make the light greater for me."

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died, I said to a man from the Ansar, "Come, let us seek knowledge, for the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ are still alive." He said in astonishment, "O Ibn Abbas, don't you see that people are in need of you? And among the people, are there any companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" I left that and approached to seek knowledge. If a hadith reached me from a person who heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I would go to him and sit at his door, with the wind blowing on my face. He would come out and say, "O cousin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, what brings you here? What do you need?" I would say, "I have heard a hadith that was narrated to me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." He would say, "Why didn't you send for me?" And I would say, "I am more entitled to come to you." So that man remained until the people gathered around me, and he said, "This young man was more intelligent than me."

That 'Ali burnt some people who apostasized from Islam. This news reached Ibn 'Abbas, so he said: "If it were me I would have killed them according to the statement of Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever changes his religion then kill him.' And I would not have burned them because the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not punish with the punishment of Allah.' So this reached 'Ali, and he said: "Ibn 'Abbas has told the truth." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1458)

[Machine] Umar used to ask me with the companions of the Prophet ﷺ , so Abdur-Rahman ibn Awf said to him, "Do you ask him, while we have children like him?" So Umar said, "From what I know, he said," So he asked them about when the victory of Allah and the conquest will come. Some of them said, "Allah has commanded us to praise Him and seek His forgiveness." And some of them said, "We do not know." So Umar said to me, "O Ibn Abbas, what do you say?" So I said, "He is the most knowledgeable of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." And he recited the Surah until its end, "Indeed, He is the Accepting of repentance." [Al-Nasr: 3] So Umar said, "By Allah, I do not know except what you know."

Some of them said: 'The ninth night', some said 'The seventh night', and some said 'The fifth night' and 'The third night'. He said, "What is wrong with you, Ibn Abbas, that you do not speak?" I said, "If you wish, I will speak." He said, "I did not call you except for you to speak."
