[Machine] "Sulaiman bin Surad bin al-Jawn bin Abi al-Jawn, also known as Abu Mutarif, embraced Islam and was a companion of the Prophet ﷺ. His original name was Yasar, but when he embraced Islam, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ renamed him Sulaiman. He held a high position and honor among his people. He lived in Kufa when the Muslims settled there, and he fought alongside Amir al-Mu'minin Ali in the Battle of Siffin. After that, he left to seek the blood of Imam Hussein bin Ali and under his banner, he led four thousand men. Sulaiman bin Surad was killed in that incident, and his head was carried to Marwan bin al-Hakam. Sulaiman was ninety-three years old at the time of his death."
