٢٧۔ كِتَابُ مَعْرِفَةِ الصَّحَابَةِ ؓ ص ١٢

[Machine] As for the two sheikhs, they did not mention anything beyond the virtues. We have started in the first mention of the companion by discussing his lineage and death, then we mentioned what is valid about their conditions from their virtues that they did not mention. So I did not forget to mention Muhammad ibn Umar al-Waqidi and his peers in knowledge.

أَمَّا الشَّيْخَانِ فَإِنَّهُمَا لَمْ يَزِيدَا عَلَى الْمَنَاقِبِ، وَقَدْ بَدَأْنَا فِي أَوَّلِ ذِكْرِ الصَّحَابِيِّ بِمَعْرِفَةِ نَسَبِهِ وَوَفَاتِهِ، ثُمَّ بِمَا يَصِحُّ عَلَى شَرْطِهِمَا مِنْ مَنَاقِبِهِ مِمَّا لَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ فَلَمْ أَسْتَغْنِ عَنْ ذِكْرِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْوَاقِدِيِّ وَأَقْرَانِهِ فِي الْمَعْرِفَةِ

٢٧۔٤٧ ذِكْرُ مَنَاقِبِ زَيْدٍ الْحَبِّ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ شَرَاحِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى

[Machine] The translation of the provided Arabic text into English is:

The love of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ captivated the Banu Qayn tribe. Khadijah bint Khuwaylid bought him with four hundred dirhams. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ married her, she gifted him to him.

حِبِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، أَسَرَهُ بَنُو الْقَيْنِ فَاشْتَرَتْهُ خَدِيجَةُ بِنْتُ خُوَيْلِدٍ بِأَرْبَعِ مِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ، فَلَمَّا تَزَوَّجَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهَبَتْهُ لَهُ

[Machine] Aisha used to say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never sent Zaid bin Harithah to an army without giving him command over it. Even if the Prophet ﷺ had stayed alive after him, he would have appointed him as his successor." Authentic Chain of Narration. They did not exclude him.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not blame us for our love for Zaid," meaning, ibn Harithah. This is what Al-Dhahabi refrained from summarizing.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "The best of the leaders of the armies is Zaid bin Harithah; he is fair and just with his subjects." This is in his narration from Al-Waqidi.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out while having a companion. They went to a certain idol from the idols, so they slaughtered a sheep for it and placed it in the oven until it was cooked. When it was cooked, they took it out and placed it in their bags. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then proceeded, while walking slowly, during the hot days of Mecca until they reached the highest part of the valley. There, they met Zaid bin Amr bin Nufayl, who greeted one of them with the pre-Islamic greeting. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "Why do I see your people abandoning you?" He replied, "By Allah, it is not that they have abandoned me, but rather, it is because I see them deviating from the right path." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I went out in search of this religion until I reached the tribes of Yathrib, and I found them worshipping Allah alone, but associating partners with Him. I said, 'What kind of religion is this that I am seeking?' Then, I traveled to the tribes of Ayla and found them worshipping Allah alone, but associating partners with Him. I said, 'What kind of religion is this that I am seeking?' A scholar from the scholars of Sham said to me, 'Indeed, you are asking about a religion that no one knows except a respected old man in the peninsula.' So, I traveled until I reached him and informed him of my purpose. He said to me, 'Indeed, all those who you have seen in misguidance, asking about a religion that is the religion of Allah and His angels. There has come out in your land a Prophet or a Prophet-like person calling to this religion. Return to him, believe in him, and follow him.' So, I returned, and I did not do anything good afterwards. I carried the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the camel he was riding, and we presented to him the cooked sheep that we had. He asked, 'What is this?' We replied, 'This is a sheep we slaughtered for the idol of such and such.' He said, 'Indeed, I do not eat anything that was slaughtered for other than Allah.' This idol was made of copper, called Asaf, and its handle was made of neem tree branches. The polytheists would anoint themselves with it when they circumambulated the Ka'bah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then circumambulated it, and I also did, touching it as I passed by. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do not touch it.' Zaid said, 'We completed the Tawaf, and I said to myself that I would touch it again to see what he says.' So, I touched it, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Did I not forbid you from doing so?' Zaid said, 'By the One who has honored him and revealed the Book to him, I have not touched an idol until Allah honored him with what He has honored him and revealed the Book to him.' Zaid bin Amr bin Nufayl died before the Prophet's message was revealed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A nation will come on the Day of Judgment, but he will be alone.' This Hadith is Sahih according to the conditions of Muslim, but they did not include it in his collection. Whoever ponders over this Hadith will understand the virtue of Zaid and his early acceptance of Islam before the invitation to it.

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُرْدِفِي إِلَى نُصُبٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَابِ فَذَبَحْنَا لَهُ شَاةً وَوَضَعْنَاهَا فِي التَّنُّورِ حَتَّى إِذَا نَضِجَتِ اسْتَخْرَجْنَاهَا فَجَعَلْنَاهَا فِي سُفْرَتِنَا ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَسِيرُ وَهُوَ مُرْدِفِي فِي أَيَّامِ الْحَرِّ مِنْ أَيَّامِ مَكَّةَ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِأَعْلَى الْوَادِي لَقِيَ فِيهِ زَيْدَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ فَحَيَّا أَحَدُهُمَا الْآخَرَ بِتَحِيَّةِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا لِي أَرَى قَوْمَكَ قَدْ شَنَفُوكَ؟» قَالَ أَمَا وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لِتَغَيُّرِ ثَائِرَةٍ كَانَتْ مِنِّي إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَكِنِّي أَرَاهُمْ عَلَى ضَلَالَةٍ قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ أَبْتَغِي هَذَا الدِّينَ حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ عَلَى أَحْبَارِ يَثْرِبَ فَوَجَدْتُهُمْ يَعْبُدُونَ اللَّهَ وَيُشْرِكُونَ بِهِ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا بِالدِّينِ الَّذِي أَبْتَغِي فَخَرَجْتُ حَتَّى أَقْدَمَ عَلَى أَحْبَارِ أَيْلَةَ فَوَجَدْتُهُمْ يَعْبُدُونَ اللَّهَ وَيُشْرِكُونَ بِهِ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا بِالدِّينِ الَّذِي أَبْتَغِي فَقَالَ لِي حَبْرٌ مِنْ أَحْبَارِ الشَّامِ إِنَّكَ تَسْأَلُ عَنْ دِينٍ مَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا يَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ بِهِ إِلَّا شَيْخًا بِالْجَزِيرَةِ فَخَرَجْتُ حَتَّى قَدِمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ الَّذِي خَرَجْتُ لَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ كُلَّ مَنْ رَأَيْتَهُ فِي ضَلَالَةٍ إِنَّكَ تَسْأَلُ عَنْ دِينٍ هُوَ دِينُ اللَّهِ وَدِينُ مَلَائِكَتِهِ وَقَدْ خَرَجَ فِي أَرْضِكَ نَبِيٌّ أَوْ هُوَ خَارِجٌ يَدْعُو إِلَيْهِ ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِ وَصَدِّقْهُ وَاتَّبِعْهُ وَآمِنَ بِمَا جَاءَ بِهِ فَرَجَعْتُ فَلَمْ أُحْسِنْ شَيْئًا بَعْدُ فَأَنَاخَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَعِيرَ الَّذِي كَانَ تَحْتَهُ ثُمَّ قَدَّمْنَا إِلَيْهِ السُّفْرَةَ الَّتِي كَانَ فِيهَا الشِّوَاءُ فَقَالَ مَا هَذِهِ؟ فَقُلْنَا «هَذِهِ شَاةٌ ذَبَحْنَاهَا لِنُصُبِ كَذَا وَكَذَا» فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَا آكُلَ مَا ذُبِحَ لِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ وَكَانَ صَنَمًا مِنْ نُحَاسٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ إِسَافُ وَنَائِلَةُ يَتَمَسَّحُ بِهِ الْمُشْرِكُونَ إِذَا طَافُوا فَطَافَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَطُفْتُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا مَرَرْتُ مَسَحْتُ بِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تَمَسَّهُ» قَالَ زَيْدٌ فَطُفْنَا فَقُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي لَأَمَسَّنَّهُ حَتَّى أَنْظُرَ مَا يَقُولُ فَمَسَحْتُهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَلَمْ تُنْهَ؟» قَالَ زَيْدٌ فَوَالَّذِي أَكْرَمَهُ وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْكِتَابَ مَا اسْتَلَمْتُ صَنَمًا حَتَّى أَكْرَمَهُ اللَّهُ بِالَّذِي أَكْرَمَهُ وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْكِتَابَ وَمَاتَ زَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُبْعَثَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أُمَّةً وَحْدَهُ» صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَمَنْ تَأَمَّلَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَرَفَ فَضْلَ زَيْدِ وَتَقَدُّمَهُ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ قَبْلَ الدَّعْوَةِ على شرط مسلم

[Machine] Jafar said, "I love you all for the sake of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." Ali said, "I love you all for the sake of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." Zaid said, "I love you all for the sake of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." They said, "So come with us to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." I then went out and returned and said, "This is Jafar, Ali, and Zaid bin Harithah seeking permission." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Give them permission." So they entered and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have come to ask you, who do you love the most among people?" He said, "Fatimah." They asked, "We are asking you about men." He said, "As for you, O Jafar, you resemble my appearance and my manners. And as for you, O Ali, you are my brother and father to my children, and you are from me and I am from you. And as for you, O Zaid, you are my mawla (close friend or loyalist) and from me and I am from you, and you are the most beloved to me among people."  

الحاكم:٤٩٥٧حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نُصَيْرٍ إِمْلَاءً ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ الرَّازِيُّ بِمِصْرَ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قُسَيْطٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ اجْتَمَعَ جَعْفَرٌ وَعَلِيٌّ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ فَقَالَ

جَعْفَرٌ أَنَا أَحَبُّكُمْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ أَنَا أَحَبُّكُمْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ زَيْدٌ أَنَا أَحَبُّكُمْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَانْطَلِقُوا بِنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ فَقُلْتُ هَذَا جَعْفَرٌ وَعَلِيٌّ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ يَسْتَأْذِنُونَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «ائْذَنْ لَهُمْ» فَدَخَلُوا فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ جِئْنَاكَ نَسْأَلُكَ مَنْ أَحَبُّ النَّاسِ إِلَيْكَ؟ قَالَ «فَاطِمَةُ» قَالُوا نَسْأَلُكَ عَنِ الرِّجَالِ قَالَ «أَمَا أَنْتَ يَا جَعْفَرُ فَيُشْبِهُ خَلْقَكَ خَلْقِي وَيُشْبِهُ خُلُقَكَ خُلُقِي وَأَنْتَ إِلَيَّ وَمِنْ شَجَرَتِي وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا عَلِيُّ فَأَخِي وَأَبُو وَلَدَيَّ وَمِنِّي وَإِلَيَّ وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ يَا زَيْدُ فَمَوْلَايَ وَمِنِّي وَإِلَيَّ وَأَحَبُّ الْقَوْمِ إِلَيَّ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط مسلم

[Machine] From the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , it is narrated that, "In the early stages of revelation, he was taught the methods of ablution, prayer, and the principles of Islam." Al-Dhahabi excluded this from his summary due to its weakness.

عَنْ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ «أَتَاهُ فِي أَوَّلِ مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيْهِ فَأَرَاهُ الْوُضُوءَ وَالصَّلَاةَ وَعَلَّمَهُ الْإِسْلَامَ» حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص لضعفه

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished the Battle of Badr, he sent two announcers to the people of Madinah. He sent Zaid bin Harithah to the people of the lower part and he sent Abdullah bin Rawahah to the people of the upper part, informing them of the victory of Allah for His Prophet ﷺ . Zaid bin Harithah agreed with his son Usamah when they were burying Rukayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and it was said to him, "This is your father when he just arrived." Usamah replied, "I came while he was standing with the people, saying, 'Utbah bin Rabiah, Shaybah bin Rabiah, Abu Jahl bin Hisham, Nabih and Munabbih, and Umayyah bin Khalaf have been killed.' So I asked, 'O my father, is this more deserving?' He said, 'Yes, by Allah, O my son.'"

لَمَّا فَرَغَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ بَدْرٍ بَعَثَ بَشِيرَيْنِ إِلَى أَهْلِ مَدِينَةٍ بَعَثَ زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ إِلَى أَهْلِ السَّافِلَةِ وَبَعَثَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ رَوَاحَةَ إِلَى أَهْلِ الْعَالِيَةِ يُبَشِّرُونَهُمْ بِفَتْحِ اللَّهِ عَلَى نَبِيِّهِ ﷺ فَوَافَقَ زَيْدُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ ابْنَهُ أُسَامَةَ حِينَ سَوَّى التُّرَابَ عَلَى رُقْيَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقِيلَ لَهُ ذَاكَ أَبُوكَ حِينَ قَدِمَ قَالَ أُسَامَةُ فَجِئْتُ وَهُوَ وَاقِفٌ لِلنَّاسِ يَقُولُ قُتِلَ عُتْبَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ وَشَيْبَةُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ وَأَبُو جَهْلِ بْنُ هِشَامٍ وَنَبِيُّهُ وَمُنَبِّهٌ وَأُمَيَّةُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا أَبَتِ أَحَقٌّ هَذَا؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَاللَّهِ يَا بُنَيَّ  

«هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

[Machine] "I participated in seven battles with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I participated in nine battles with Zaid ibn Harithah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to assign him to lead us." This is an authentic hadith according to the conditions of the two Sheikhs, and they did not include it. It is mentioned in Bukhari's Thulathiyaat.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Who is your leader, O Bani Salamah?" They replied, "Al-Jadd ibn Qays, except that he is stingy." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What disease is worse than stinginess? Rather, your leader should be Bashir ibn Al-Bara' ibn Ma'rur." This hadith is authentic according to the conditions of Muslim, but he (Muslim) did not include it in his book.

[Machine] I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was suffering from the illness in which he later passed away. I said, "By my father, O Messenger of Allah, what do you accuse yourself of? For I do not accuse my son except for the food he ate with you in Khaybar." His son was Bishr bin Al-Bara' bin Ma'roor, and he died before the Prophet ﷺ . So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "And I do not accuse anyone besides her. This is the time of the cutting off of my jugular vein." This narration is authentic according to the criteria of the two Shaykhs (Al-Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not include it in their collections.

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي وَجَعِهِ الَّذِي قُبِضَ فِيهِ فَقُلْتُ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا تَتَّهِمُ بِنَفْسِكَ؟ فَإِنِّي لَا أَتَّهِمُ بِابْنِي إِلَّا الطَّعَامَ الَّذِي أَكَلَهُ مَعَكَ بِخَيْبَرَ وَكَانَ ابْنُهَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ مَعْرُورٍ مَاتَ قَبْلَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «وَأَنَا لَا أَتَّهِمُ غَيْرَهَا هَذَا أَوَانُ انْقِطَاعِ أَبْهَرِي هَذَا» صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم

[Machine] A Jewish woman invited the Prophet ﷺ and his companions to a meal that included a poisonous sheep. When they sat down to eat, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a bite of the food and then said to them, "Stop, for this sheep is poisoned." The Jewish woman asked him, "What harmed you? I wanted to see if you were a true prophet. This poison would not harm you, but if you were not a prophet, I would save people from you." However, Shirah, the son of Al-Baraa, ate from it and died. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered for the Jewish woman to be killed. This incident is mentioned in Sahih Muslim and it has not been contradicted. Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in his summary.

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً يَهُودِيَّةً دَعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَأَصْحَابًا لَهُ عَلَى شَاةٍ مَصْلِيَّةٍ فَلَمَّا قَعَدُوا يَأْكُلُونَ أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لُقْمَةً فَوَضَعَهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُمْ «أَمْسِكُوا إِنَّ هَذِهِ الشَّاةَ مَسْمُومَةٌ» فَقَالَ لِلْيَهُودِيَّةِ وَيْلَكِ لِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ سَمَّمْتِنِي؟ قَالَتْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَعْلَمَ إِنْ كُنْتَ نَبِيًّا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَضُرُّكَ وَإِنْ كَانَ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ أَنْ أُرِيحَ النَّاسَ مِنْكَ وَأَكَلَ مِنْهَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْبَرَاءِ فَمَاتَ فَقَتَلَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص  

27.49 [Machine] Mentions of the Virtues of Abu Marthad Al-Ghanawi, Kananaz bin Al-Husayn Al-Adawi.

٢٧۔٤٩ ذِكْرُ مَنَاقِبِ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيِّ كَنَّازُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ الْعَدَوِيُّ

[Machine] It is said that Kanaz bin Hisn bin Yarbu' was a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He was very close to Ubada bin As-Samit. They both participated in the battles of Badr, Uhud, and the Trench. The Prophet ﷺ assigned Marthad bin Abi Marthad to lead a military expedition to Raji". Marthad bin Abi Marthad was killed in that expedition.

وَقِيلَ كَنَّازُ بْنُ حِصْنِ بْنِ يَرْبُوعٍ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ آخَى بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، شَهِدَا بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ، وَمَرْثَدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ أَمَّرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى السَّرِيَّةِ الَّتِي وَجَّهَهَا إِلَى الرَّجِيعِ فَقُتِلَ بِهَا

وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُ قُتِلَ بِأَجْنَادِينَ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Do not sit on graves nor pray towards them." This hadith was omitted by Al-Dhahabi due to its weakness.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا تَجْلِسُوا عَلَى الْقُبُورِ وَلَا تُصَلُّوا إِلَيْهَا» حذفه الذهبي لضعفه

«أَبُو مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيُّ اسْمُهُ كَنَّازُ بْنُ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ يَرْبُوعِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَرْبُوعِ بْنِ خَرَشَةَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ طَرِيفِ بْنِ جَلَّانَ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ أَعْصَرَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ قَيْسِ عَيْلَانَ»

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا تَجْلِسُوا عَلَى الْقُبُورِ وَلَا تُصَلُّوا إِلَيْهَا» صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَقَدْ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ بِذِكْرِ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ فِيهِ بَيْنَ بِشْرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ وَوَاثِلَةَ «فَقَدْ رَوَاهُ بِشْرُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ وَالْوَلِيدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ بِشْرٍ سَمِعْتُ وَاثِلَةَ بْنَ الْأَسْقَعِ» أَمَّا حَدِيثُ بِشْرٍ

[Machine] I heard Wasilah ibn Al-Asqa', the companion of the Prophet ﷺ , saying, "Do not sit on graves or pray to them." Sadaqah ibn Khalid then added, "Upon him be peace."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ sent him as a guard until the break of dawn. Then, the Prophet ﷺ said, "This is your companion, who has been keeping watch over you." The Prophet ﷺ then came to him and asked, "Have you prayed the night prayer?" He replied, "No, by Allah, O Prophet of Allah, except for fulfilling a need." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not worry, you will not have to work after this." Yahya ibn Hamzah mentioned this narration to Abu Amr Al-Awza'i, who then narrated it to me. Al-Awza'i informed me that Hassan ibn Atiyyah would relate this narration as a special virtue for Abu Marthad Al-Ghanawi, which was transmitted solely by the children of Yahya ibn Hamzah Al-Dimashqi from their fathers, who all were reliable narrators.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعَثَهُ حَارِسًا حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ وَجْهُ الصُّبْحِ أَقْبَلَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَذَا صَاحِبُكُمْ قَدْ أَقْبَلَ يَقْطَعُ عَلَيْكُمْ» ثُمَّ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَهُ «أَنَزَلْتَ اللَّيْلَةَ عَنْ فَرَسِكَ؟» قَالَ لَا وَاللَّهِ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ إِلَّا قَاضِيَ حَاجَةٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَا تُبَالِ أَنْ لَا تَعْمَلَ بَعْدَ هَذَا» قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ فَذَكَرْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ لِأَبِي عَمْرٍو الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ فَحَدَّثَنِي الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ أَنَّ حَسَّانَ بْنَ عَطِيَّةَ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ بِذَلِكَ هَذِهِ فَضِيلَةُ سَنِيَّةٌ لِأَبِي مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيِّ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ أَوْلَادُ يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ عَنْ آبَائِهِمْ عَنِ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ وَكُلُّهُمْ ثِقَاتٌ رواته ثقات

[Machine] He was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the Day of Badr, and one of the horsemen belonged to Marthad ibn Abi Marthad, and the other belonged to Zubair. Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in the summary.

[Machine] Some people from the tribe of Adal and Qara'a, who were considered the emissaries of Jadila, came to the Prophet ﷺ after the Battle of Uhud and said, "We have accepted Islam in our land, so please send some of your companions to teach us the Quran and educate us about Islam." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent six people with them, including Marthad ibn Abi Marthad, the ally of Hamza ibn Abdul-Muttalib, who was their leader, Khalid ibn Al-Bukayr Al-Laithi, the ally of Bani Adi, Abdullah ibn Tarik Al-Zafri , Zaid ibn Dathina, Hubayb ibn Adi, and Asim ibn Thabit ibn Abi Al-Aflah. They left with their leader, Marthad ibn Abi Marthad, and when they were returning, they were attacked by a group led by Hudhail. The people had swords in their hands, so Hudhail tried to deceive them, but the people took out their swords and prepared to fight. They said, "O Allah, we don't want to kill you, but we want to take some of the people of Makkah as captives." They reminded them of the covenant and agreement they had made with Allah. So Asim, Marthad, and Khalid fought until they were killed, and they said, "By Allah, we will never accept a treaty or contract with a polytheist."

أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنْ عَضَلٍ وَالْقَارَةِ وَهُمَا حَيَّانِ مِنْ جَدِيلَةَ أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ بَعْدَ أُحُدٍ فَقَالُوا إِنَّ بِأَرْضِنَا إِسْلَامًا فَابْعَثْ مَعَنَا نَفَرًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِكَ يُقْرِئُونَنَا الْقُرْآنَ وَيُفَقِّهُونَنَا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ فَبَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَعَهُمْ سِتَّةَ نَفَرٍ مِنْهُمْ مَرْثَدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ حَلِيفُ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَهُوَ أَمِيرُهُمْ وَخَالِدُ بْنُ الْبُكَيْرِ اللَّيْثِيُّ حَلِيفُ بَنِي عَدِيٍّ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَارِقٍ الظَّفَرِيُّ وَزَيْدُ بْنُ الدَّثِنَةِ وَخُبَيْبُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ وَعَاصِمُ بْنُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَفْلَحِ فَخَرَجُوا وَأَمِيرُهُمْ مَرْثَدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِالرَّجِيعِ أَتَتْهُمُ هُذَيْلُ فَلَمْ يَرَعِ الْقَوْمُ فِي رِحَالِهِمْ إِلَّا الرِّجَالَ فِي أَيْدِيهِمُ السُّيُوفُ قَدْ غَشُوهُمْ بِهَا فَأَخَذَ الْقَوْمُ أَسْيَافَهُمْ لِيُقَاتِلُوا فَقَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ مَا نُرِيدُ قَتْلَكُمْ وَلَكِنَّا نُرِيدُ أَنْ نُصِيبَ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ فَلَكُمْ عَهْدُ اللَّهِ وَمِيثَاقُهُ فَأَمَّا عَاصِمٌ وَمَرْثَدٌ وَخَالِدٌ فَقَاتَلُوا حَتَّى قُتِلُوا وَقَالُوا وَاللَّهِ مَا نَقْبَلُ مِنْ مُشْرِكٍ عَهْدًا وَلَا عَقْدًا أَبَدًاحذفه الذهبي من التلخيص لضعفه

Indeed, my grandfather Marthad died on his bed in Medina during the caliphate of Abu Bakr in the year twelve. I made an effort to seek a hadith narrated by Marthad from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , but I only found the hadith

أَنَّ مَرْثَدَ اسْتُشْهِدَ قَبْلَ أَبِيهِ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ بِثَمَانِ سِنِينَ فَإِنَّ أَبَا مَرْثَدٍ مَاتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فِي خِلَافَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ سَنَةَ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ جَهِدْتُ فِي طَلَبِ حَدِيثٍ يُسْنِدُهُ مَرْثَدٌ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ أَجِدْ إِلَّا الْحَدِيثَ الَّذِي

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you want your prayers to be accepted, then your best individuals should lead the prayer, for they are your representatives between you and your Lord Almighty."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ سَرَّكُمْ أَنْ تُقْبَلَ صَلَاتُكُمْ فَلْيَؤُمَّكُمْ خِيَارُكُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ وَفْدُكُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ رَبِّكُمْ ﷻ»

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّا نُهِينَا أَنْ نَرَى عَوْرَاتِنَا» سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص  

27.52 [Machine] The mention of the virtues of Abu Hudhayfah "He is Hushaym ibn Uthbah ibn Rabee'ah ibn 'Abd Shams ibn 'Abd Manaf, the beloved of Allah and the enemy of Allah and the enemy of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . He was killed on the Day of Yamamah in the year twelve of the Hijrah, and he was either fifty-three or fifty-four years old.

٢٧۔٥٢ ذِكْرُ مَنَاقِبِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ «هُوَ هُشَيْمُ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ شَمْسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ حَبِيبُ اللَّهِ وَابْنُ عَدُوِّ اللَّهِ وَعَدُوُّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قُتِلَ يَوْمَ الْيَمَامَةِ سَنَةَ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ مِنَ الْهِجْرَةِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ أَوْ أَرْبَعٍ وَخَمْسِينَ سَنَةً»

[Machine] The Islam of Abu Hudhayfah existed before the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) entered the home of Arqam. He was one of those who migrated twice. This narration was deleted by Al-Dhahabi due to its weakness.

«وَكَانَ أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ رَجُلًا طُوَالًا حَسَنَ الْوَجْهِ وَأُمُّهُ أُمُّ صَفْوَانَ»

[Machine] "Abu Hudhayfah bin Utbah bin Rabiah was killed as a martyr on the day of the Battle of Yamama."

«قُتِلَ أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ يَوْمَ الْيَمَامَةِ شَهِيدًا»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Badr: "Whoever encounters Abbas among you, let him refrain from attacking him, for he has been forced to come." Abu Hudhaifah ibn Utbah said: "Shall we kill our fathers, brothers, and clans while leaving Abbas? By Allah, I will strike him with a sword." When the Prophet ﷺ heard about this, he said to Umar ibn Al-Khattab: "O Abu Hafs! Umar said: "Indeed, it is the first day when Umar is causing me distress. I will strike the face of the uncle of the Messenger of Allah with a sword." Umar said: "Leave it to me, I will strike his neck, for he has become a hypocrite." Abu Hudhaifah used to say: "I will never feel safe from the consequences of that statement I made, and I will remain fearful until Allah clears me of it through martyrdom." He was indeed martyred on the day of Yamamah. This Hadith is authentic according to the conditions of Imam Muslim and it has not been abrogated."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ «مَنْ لَقِيَ مِنْكُمُ الْعَبَّاسَ فَلْيَكْفُفْ عَنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ خَرَجَ مُسْتَكْرَهًا» فَقَالَ أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ بْنُ عُتْبَةَ أَنَقْتُلُ آبَاءَنَا وَإِخْوَانَنَا وَعَشَائِرَنَا وَنَدَعُ الْعَبَّاسَ وَاللَّهِ لَأَضْرِبَّنَهُ بِالسَّيْفِ فَبَلَغَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ يَا أَبَا حَفْصٍ قَالَ عُمَرُ إِنَّهُ لَأَوَّلُ يَوْمٍ كَنَّانِي فِيهِ بِأَبِي حَفْصٍ يُضْرَبُ وَجْهُ عَمِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ بِالسَّيْفِ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ دَعْنِي فَلْأَضْرِبْ عُنُقَهُ فَإِنَّهُ قَدْ نَافَقَ وَكَانَ أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ يَقُولُ مَا أَنَا بِآمِنُ مِنْ تِلْكَ الْكَلِمَةِ الَّتِي قُلْتُ وَلَا أَزَالُ خَائِفًا حَتَّى يُكَفِّرَهَا اللَّهُ عَنِّي بِالشَّهَادَةِ قَالَ فَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ الْيَمَامَةِ شَهِيدًا «صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ»

[Machine] "What makes you cry? Is it pain or attachment to the worldly life?" He replied, "No, I heard the Messenger of Allah - peace be upon him - entrust me with a trust. I asked, 'What is it?' He said, 'The Messenger of Allah - peace be upon him - said, 'Perhaps you will live to see a time when people will gather together and you will be among them.'" And indeed, I have witnessed that, just as the Prophet - peace be upon him - said, 'In the narration, they are wicked, and it is that Abu Hudhaifa Utba ibn Rabia was martyred before Muawiyah embraced Islam. And indeed, Muawiyah said this statement to his uncle Abu Hashim ibn Utba ibn Rabia on the day of Siffin.''

مَا يُبْكِيكَ؟ أَوَجَعٌ أَوْ حِرْصٌ عَلَى الدُّنْيَا؟ فَقَالَ كَلَّا إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ عَهْدًا فَقُلْتُ مَا هُوَ؟ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَعَلَّكَ يُدْرَكَكُ زَمَانٌ وَيَجْمَعُونَ جَمْعًا وَأَنْتَ فِيهِ» وَإِنِّي قَدْ جَمَعْتُ كَمَا قَالَهُ ﷺ «فِي الْحَدِيثِ وَهُمْ فَاحِشٌ وَهُوَ أَنَّ أَبَا حُذَيْفَةَ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ اسْتُشْهِدَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ مُعَاوِيَةُ وَإِنَّمَا قَالَ ذَلِكَ مُعَاوِيَةُ هَذَا الْقَوْلَ لِعَمِّهِ أَبِي هَاشِمِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ يَوْمَ صِفِّينَ»

وَيُقَالُ مِقْسَمٌ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered for the prisoners to be thrown into Al-Qalib. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then stood over them and said, "O people of Al-Qalib, have you found what your Lord promised you to be true? For indeed, I have found what my Lord promised me to be true." His companions said, "O Messenger of Allah, are you speaking to dead people?" He replied, "Indeed, they know that what their Lord promised them is true." When the prisoners were ordered, they were dragged while there was a mark on the face of Abu Hudhaifah ibn Utbah Al-Karakiyah and his father was being dragged towards Al-Qalib. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "O Abu Hudhaifah, by Allah, it seems as though what was in your father has befallen you." He replied, "By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, I never doubted Allah and His Messenger. However, if he was calm and sincere, and had insight, I hoped that he would not die until Allah guided him to Islam. But when I saw that it had passed and ended up where it did, it made me sad." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then supplicated for him with good, "May he be correct upon the condition of a Muslim, and not be excluded."  

الحاكم:٤٩٩٥حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ رُومَانَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ بِالْقَلِيبِ فَطُرِحُوا فِيهِ فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «يَا أَهْلَ الْقَلِيبِ هَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا؟ فَإِنِّي وَجَدْتُ مَا وَعَدَنِي رَبِّي حَقًّا» فَقَالَ أَصْحَابُهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ تُكَلِّمُ أَقْوَامًا مَوْتَى؟ فَقَالَ «لَقَدْ عَلِمُوا أَنَّ مَا وَعَدَكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ حَقٌّ» فَلَمَّا أَمَرَ بِهِمْ فَسُحِبُوا عُرِفَ فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ الْكَرَاهِيَةُ وَأَبُوهُ يُسْحَبُ إِلَى الْقَلِيبِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا أَبَا حُذَيْفَةَ وَاللَّهِ لَكَأَنَّهُ سَاءَكَ مَا كَانَ فِي أَبِيكَ» فَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا شَكَكْتُ فِي اللَّهِ وَفِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنْ إِنْ كَانَ حَلِيمًا سَدِيدًا ذَا رَأْيٍ فَكُنْتُ أَرْجُو أَنْ لَا يَمُوتَ حَتَّى يَهْدِيَهُ اللَّهُ ﷻ إِلَى الْإِسْلَامِ فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُ أَنْ قَدْ فَاتَ ذَلِكَ وَوَقَعَ حَيْثُ وَقَعَ أَحْزَنَنِي ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَدَعَا لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِخَيْرٍ «صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» على شرط مسلم

[Machine] And Qutbah ibn 'Amir ibn Hadiidah witnessed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the Battle of Badr, and it was the battle in which the verse {It is not righteousness that you enter houses from the back} [Al-Baqarah 189] was revealed. And his brother is Yazid ibn 'Amir ibn Hadiidah, and Yazid is also known as Abu al-Mundhir.  

الحاكم:٤٩٩٦أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثنا أَبُو عُلَاثَةَ ثنا أَبِي ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ثنا أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ

وَقُطْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ حَدِيدَةَ شَهِدَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَدْرًا وَهُوَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ فِيهِ {لَيْسَ الْبِرُّ بِأَنْ تَأْتُوا الْبُيُوتَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهَا} [البقرة 189] وَأَخُوهُ يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ حَدِيدَةَ وَيَزِيدُ يُكَنَّى أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ

[Machine] "Some of his people's companions said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out during the season in which he met a group of the Ansar, and he presented himself to the Arab tribes. Then they turned away from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and returned to their lands, having believed and confirmed the faith of Qutbah ibn Amir ibn Hadeedah among them.'"

عَنْ أَشْيَاخٍ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ قَالُوا «خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الْمَوْسِمِ الَّذِي لَقِيَهُ فِيهِ النَّفَرَ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَعَرَضَ نَفْسَهُ عَلَى قَبَائِلِ الْعَرَبِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُوا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَاجِعِينَ إِلَى بِلَادِهِمْ قَدْ آمَنُوا وَصَدَّقُوا مِنْهُمْ قُطْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرِ بْنِ حَدِيدَةَ»

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Qutbah bin 'Amir bin Hadeedah with twenty men to a neighborhood from Khath'am during the month of Safar in the year seven.  

الحاكم:٤٩٩٨حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنِي بْنُ أَبِي سَبْرَةَ حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعَثَ قُطْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرِ بْنِ حَدِيدَةَ فِي عِشْرِينَ رَجُلًا إِلَى حَيٍّ مِنْ خَثْعَمَ فِي صَفَرٍ سَنَةَ سَبْعٍ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Take the Qur'an from four individuals: Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, Mu'adh, Ubayy, and Salim, the mawla of Abu Hudhayfah. It has a sound chain of narration, although they did not compile it into a book." It is considered weak.  

الحاكم:٤٩٩٩حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذَ الْعَدْلُ ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ثنا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خُذُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَمَنْ مُعَاذٍ وَمَنْ أُبَيٍّ وَمَنْ سَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ «صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» ضعيف

[Machine] And Moses ibn Utbah said, "He is Salim ibn Maqil from the people of Isṭakhara." Al-Dhahabi deleted him from the summary due to his weakness.  

الحاكم:٥٠٠٠حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَطَّةَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُسْتَةَ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ شُيُوخِهِ قَالَ سَالِمٌ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ كَانَ مَوْلَى لِثُبَيْتَةَ بِنْتِ يَعَارٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّةِ وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ فَتَبَّنَاهُ وَكَانَ يُقَالُ سَالِمُ بْنُ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ {ادْعُوهُمْ لِآبَائِهِمْ} [الأحزاب 5] قِيلَ لِسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ قُتِلَ يَوْمَ الْيَمَامَةِ شَهِيدًا سَنَةَ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ وَوُجِدَ رَأْسُهُ عِنْدَ رِجْلِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ أَوْ رِجْلُ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ

وَقَالَ مُوسَى بْنُ عُتْبَةَ «هُوَ سَالِمُ بْنُ مَعْقِلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ إِصْطَخْرَ» حذفه الذهبي من التلخيص لضعفه

[Machine] "From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , after the night prayer, then I came to him and he said to me, 'Where were you?' I said, 'We were listening to the recitation of a man from your companions in the mosque. I have never heard a voice or recitation like his from any of your companions.' He stood up and I stood with him until he listened to him. Then he turned to me and said, 'This is Sālim, the freed slave of Abu Hudhayfah. All praise is due to Allah who has placed such [recitation] in my Ummah.' This is an authentic hadith according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs [referring to Al-Bukhari and Muslim], and they did not include it in their collections exactly in this content."  

الحاكم:٥٠٠١أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُكْرَمٍ أَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَاكِرٍ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ الْبُرْدِيُّ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ سَابِطٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ أَبْطَأْتُ لَيْلَةً

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَقَالَ لِي «أَيْنَ كُنْتَ؟» قُلْتُ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَةَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِكَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِثْلَ صَوْتِهِ وَلَا قِرَاءَةً مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِكَ فَقَامَ وَقُمْتُ مَعَهُ حَتَّى اسْتَمَعَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيَّ فَقَالَ «هَذَا سَالِمٌ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي أُمَّتِي مِثْلَ هَذَا» صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ هَكَذَا على شرط البخاري ومسلم

[Machine] Once, the wife of Abu Hudhaifa mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the inclusion of Salim, the slave of Abu Hudhaifa, in her home. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told her, "Breastfeed him." So she breastfed him after he had witnessed the Battle of Badr. Since then, Salim used to enter her home based on the condition set by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they did not separate him from her.  

الحاكم:٥٠٠٢أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْمَحْبُوبِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ تُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ امْرَأَةَ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ ذَكَرَتْ وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ تُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ امْرَأَةَ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ ذَكَرَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ دُخُولَ سَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَرْضِعِيهِ» فَأَرْضَعَتْهُ بَعْدَ أَنْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا فَكَانَ يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْهَا «صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ» على شرط مسلم
