12. Ḥajj and ʿUmrah (32/34)
[Machine] "He used to depart to Al-Bat'ha in Dhul-Hulayfah after completing the Hajj or Umrah. This was the place where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to untie his Ihram."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was seen in Mu'arrasah of Dhul-Hulayfah in the belly of the valley. It was said to him, "You are in a blessed spot." He said, "May Moses be safe, for Abdullah ibn Umar was frequently wishing to see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in this spot below the mosque, which is between it and the road." This is the wording of the hadith of Abu Abdullah.
[Machine] I heard Muhammad ibn Ishaq al-Madini saying, "The distance of the wedding is six miles from the city."
[Machine] He used to follow the footsteps of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and pray in them. When the Prophet ﷺ once stopped under a tree, Ibn Umar would pour water for him underneath it so that it would not dry up.
12.359 [Machine] Visit to the Prophet's ﷺ grave.
The Prophet ﷺ said: If any one of you greets me, Allah returns my soul to me and I respond to the greeting. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2041)
[Machine] Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you, O Abu Bakr. Peace be upon you, O my father.
[Machine] Abdullah bin Umar stands at the grave of the Prophet ﷺ, then he gives his greeting to the Prophet ﷺ and supplicates. Then he supplicates for Abu Bakr and Umar.
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever visits my grave or says, 'Whoever visits me, I will be an intercessor or witness for him,' and whoever dies in one of the two holy mosques, Allah will raise him on the Day of Resurrection among the safe ones." This is an unknown chain of narration.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever performs the Hajj and then visits my grave after my death, it is as if he visited me during my lifetime." 10275 And Abu Sa'ad al-Malini informed us. I am Abu Ahmad bin Adi al-Hafith. I am al-Hasan bin Sufyan. Ali bin Hujr narrated to us. Hafs bin Sulaiman narrated to us. And Abu Ahmad narrated to us. Abdallah bin Muhammad al-Baghawi narrated to us. Abu al-Rabi' al-Zahrani narrated to us. Hafs bin Abi Dawood mentioned it separately, and he is weak.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A prayer in my mosque is better than a thousand prayers in any other mosque, except for the Holy Mosque."
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A prayer in my mosque is better than a thousand prayers in any other mosque except for the Sacred Mosque."

“One prayer in my mosque is better than one thousand prayers elsewhere, except the Sacred Mosque, and one prayer in the Sacred Mosque is better than one hundred thousand prayers elsewhere.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1406)
[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , about the mosque that was established upon righteousness, and he said, "This is my mosque."
“One prayer in this mosque of mine is better than one thousand prayers in any other mosque except the Sacred Mosque.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1405)

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Between my grave and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.' And in the narration of Ibn Ubayd, he said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, between my pulpit and my house is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.' And they both narrated it in the authentic Hadith from the narration of Ubaydullah."

[Machine] I saw the Prophet ﷺ taking care to perform the prayer at that time.
[Machine] Ibn Umar used to say about the container that Abu Lubaba had tied to it, "The third from the grave and it is the third from the vast area."
12.363 [Machine] The Pulpit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ
[Machine] Abu Asim nobly narrated from Hisham ibn Saad, and Abu al-Hasan ibn Bishran al-Adl informed us that Abu Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Amr al-Razaz narrated from Yahya ibn Ja'far that Dihak ibn Makhlad narrated from Hisham ibn Saad, from Abi Hazim, from Sahl ibn Saad that the Prophet ﷺ said, "My minbar will be upon a hill from the hills of Jannah." In the narration of al-Saghanee, he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned it and Hisham narrated it, but Abdul Aziz ibn Abi Hazim did not narrate it from him in the most authentic narrations from him."
[Machine] He said, "We used to say that the pulpit is on a hill in paradise." Sahal asked, "Do you know what the hill is?" We replied, "Yes, it is the door." He said, "Yes, it is the door," and it is also narrated from him using different wording.
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Between my house and my pulpit lies a garden among the gardens of Paradise, and the pillars of my pulpit are the stations of the prophets in Paradise." There is a difference of opinion regarding its narration from Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman, as it is said that it is narrated from Abu Hurairah and it is also said that it is narrated from Umm Salamah. There is also a difference of opinion regarding its wording.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am standing on a hillock from the hillocks of paradise." Sa'id added in his narration, "It was asked, 'What is this hillock?' He said, 'The elevated position.' 'Ammar Ad-Duhni differed with Abu Salamah in his narration of both the chain of narrators and the text.
[Machine] "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ: The columns of my pulpit are the salaries in paradise." In another narration by Abdul Razzaq, it is reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "And likewise."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to go out to Al-Baqi' every night, from the end of the night, and say, "Peace be upon you, O dwelling place of believing people. You will receive what you have been promised tomorrow, postponed. And indeed, if Allah wills, we will be joining you. O Allah, forgive the people of Al-Baqi' Al-Gharqad." Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz informed us that Abu Al-Walid informed me, narrating from Hameed ibn Shuayb, from Yahya ibn Ayyub, from Ismail ibn Jafar, he said, Abu Al-Walid also informed me that I am Al-Hasan ibn Sufyan, narrating from Qutaybah ibn Saeed, narrating from Ismail, and he mentioned it.

He said, 'Talhah bin 'Abdullah informed me that we went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and when we approached Hawazin, we passed by a grave in Mahniyyah. So we said, 'O Messenger of Allah, these are the graves of our brothers.' He said, 'These are the graves of our companions.' Then we went out and when we reached the graves of the martyrs, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, 'These are the graves of our brothers, 10,300.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to teach us the supplication for isthikharah (seeking what us beneficial from Allah) as he would teach us a surah (chapter) from the Qur'an. He would tell us: When one of you intends to do a work, he should offer two supererogatory rak'ahs of prayer, and then say (at the end of the prayer):
"O Allah, I seek Your choice on the better (of the two matters) based upon Your knowledge, and I seek Your decree based upon Your power, and I ask You for Your great bounties. For Indeed, You are the One Who Decrees, and I do not decree, and You know, and I do not know, and You are the Knower of the Unseen. O Allah, if you know this, and You are the Knower of the Unseen. O Allah, if you know this - here he should name exactly what he wishes - is better for me with regard to my religion, and my life, and my afterlife, and the end result of my affairs, then decree it to me, and make it easy for me, and bless me on it. O Allah, and if You know this to be evil for me - and he says just as he said the first time - then avert it for me, and avert me from it. And decree for me good wherever it might be, the make me content with it." A version goes: "If the work is good immediately or subsequently." (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1538)

12.369 [Machine] The supplication when traveling.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say when traveling: "O Allah, You are our companion in the journey, and the successor in our family. O Allah, accompany us on our journey and be our successor in our family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of travel, the melancholy of returning home, the torment of misfortune after prosperity, the supplication of the oppressed, and the evil of seeing in regards to family and wealth."
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to embark on a journey, he would not say, "Add provisions for the journey." He would say, "O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Successor in the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of the journey and the distress of returning. O Allah, make our destination nearby and ease the journey for us." And when he intended to return, he would say, "Returning, repenting, and praising our Lord. When he entered his house, he would say, 'Repentance, repentance, and return to our Lord. May He not leave us with sins.' And Ali informed us - I, Ahmad, narrated to him - Isma'il ibn Ishaq narrated to us - Musaddad narrated to us - Abu Al-Ahwas narrated from Simak, who mentioned it through his chain of narration similar to the hadith of Uthman ibn 'Umar.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never embarked on a journey without saying, when he got up from his sitting position: "O Allah, it is by Your name that I set out, and in You I place my trust. O Allah, suffice me from my worries and what I do not worry about, and what You know best about me. O Allah, grant me righteousness and forgive my sins, and direct me to the best wherever I turn." Then he would say this: "This is what the common people say: 'O Allah, it is by Your name that I set out.' And Abu Sulaiman al-Khattaabi, may Allah have mercy on him, used to say: 'The correct wording is: I began my journey with a smile.'"

[Machine] He used to say that rarely did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ go on a journey for jihad or other reasons except on a Thursday. They have mentioned it in the authentic narration in the hadith of Tawbah of Ka'b ibn Malik.

12.371 [Machine] What does he say when he leaves his house?
“Allahumma inni a’udhu bika an adilla aw azilla, aw azlima aw uzlama, aw ajhala aw yujhala ‘alayya (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from going astray or stumbling, from wronging others or being wronged, and from behaving or being treated in an ignorant manner).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3884)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever says 'In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah. There is no power or strength except with Allah,' it is said to him: 'You have been protected and sufficed.' Hujaj bin Muhammad narrated this from Ibn Jurayj and added: 'When he leaves his house.'"

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, a man came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was intending to travel, so he greeted him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "I advise you to have taqwa (fear and obedience of Allah) and to recite takbir (saying Allahu akbar - Allah is the Greatest) on every elevated place. So when the man turned away, he said, "O Allah, make the earth spacious for him and make his journey easy."
that he sought permission from the Prophet ﷺ concerning ʿUmrah, so he said: “O my little brother, include us in your supplication and do not forget us.” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3562)
[Machine] He sought permission from the Prophet ﷺ for Umrah, so the Prophet granted him permission and said, "Do not forget us in your prayers, my brother." He (the narrator) said, "So he said a word to me that would make me pleased if I had it for the entire world." Shu'bah said, "So I met 'Asim after in Madinah and informed him. He said, 'Include us, my brother, in your prayers.'" In the narration of Ibn Yusuf, he said in its chain of narration, "I heard Salim ibn Abdullah narrating from his father from 'Umar who said in his statement, 'He said a word to me that I would not like to have the whole world in return for confirming my brother in its beginning and its end from his standpoint.'"

Hallowed is He Who subdued for us this (ride) and we were not ourselves powerful enough to use It as a ride, and we are going to return to our Lord. O Allah, we seek virtue and piety from Thee in this journey of ours and the act which pleaseth Thee. O Allah, lighten this journey of ours, and make its distance easy for us. O Allah, Thou art (our) companion during the journey, and guardian of (our) family. O Allah, I seek refuge with Thee from hardships of the journey, gloominess of the sights, and finding of evil changes in property and family on return. And he (the Holy Prophet) uttered (these words), and made this addition to them: We are returning, repentant, worshipping our Lord. and praising Him. (Using translation from Muslim 1342)

ʿAbdur-Razzaq said. Someone who saw ʿAli when he rode told me: When he put his foot in the stirrup, he said: Bismillah (in the Name of Allah). When he got on it, he said: Al-Hamdu Lillah (praise be to Allah). Then he said: ʿGlory be to the One Who has placed this (transport) at our service and we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our Lord is our final destiny [az-Zukhruf 43:13-14]ʿ. Then he said Al-hamdu Lillah three times and Allahu Akbar three times, then he said: O Allah, there is no god but You. I have wronged myself, so forgive me; no one forgives sins but You. Then he smiled, and it was said: What made you smile, O Ameer al-Muʿmineen? He said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do what I have done and say what I have said, then he smiled and we said: What made you smile, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: ʿI was amazed at the slave when he said there is no god but You. I have wronged myself, so forgive me; no one forgives sins but You,” and he knows that no one forgives sins but He.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 930)
