12.194 [Machine] The Best Supplication: the Supplication of the Day of Arafah

bayhaqi:9473Abū Naṣr ʿUmar b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿUmar b. Qatādah > Abū ʿAmr b. Nujayd > Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm al-ʿAbdī > Ibn Bukayr > Mālik > Ziyād b. Abū Ziyād a freed slave of Ibn ʿAyyāsh > Ṭalḥah b. ʿUbaydullāh b. Karīz

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The best supplication is the supplication on the Day of Arafah, and the best thing that I and the prophets before me have said is: There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner."

bayhaqi:9474Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ > Abū ʿAbdullāh Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb > ʿAlī b. al-Ḥasan > ʿAbd al-Majīd b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz > Ibn Jurayj > Ḥusayn b. ʿAbdullāh al-Hāshimī > ʿIkrimah > Ibn ʿAbbās

[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ supplicating at Arafat, raising his hands towards his chest, seeking provision for the needy.

bayhaqi:9475Abū Bakr b. al-Ḥārith al-Faqīh > Abū Muḥammad b. Ḥayyān Abū al-Shaykh al-Aṣbahānī > Muḥammad b. ʿAbbās > Aḥmad b. Ibrāhīm al-Dawraqī > ʿUbaydullāh b. Mūsá > Mūsá b. ʿUbaydah > Akhīh ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUbaydah > ʿAlī b. Abū Ṭālib > Rasūl

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My most frequent supplication and the supplication of the prophets before me on the Day of Arafah is: 'There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty, and to Him belongs all praise. And He has power over all things. O Allah, place light in my heart, and in my hearing light, and in my sight light. O Allah, open my chest, and make my task easy for me, and protect me from the whispers of the chest, and the discord of the task, and the trials of the grave. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil that accompanies the night, and the evil that accompanies the day, and the evil that the winds blow, and the evil that is produced by the changes of time.' It was mentioned to me that Musa bin 'Ubaydah had devoted himself exclusively to supplicating with this prayer, and he is weak and he did not reach the level of his brother 'Ali." It was reported to us by Abu Shu'bah that he said: "I saw Ibn 'Umar gasping for breath on the Day of Arafah so that he could hear what he was saying." He said: "There was nothing more to what he said than that he said: 'There is no god but Allah, alone, without any partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty, and to Him belongs all praise. And He has power over all things.'
