12. Ḥajj and ʿUmrah
[Machine] A man who was standing with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in Arafat fell off his mount and was injured or killed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wash him with water and sidr, shroud him in two garments, and do not perfume him or cover his head, for indeed Allah will resurrect him on the Day of Resurrection wearing a garment." Hammad said, "I heard Amr ibn Dinar narrating this from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, and I did not find anything objectionable in the narration of Ayyub."
[Machine] A man was standing with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Arafat when he fell off his mount. Ayyub said his neck was broken, while 'Amr said his spine was broken. He died, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wash him with water and lotus leaves, shroud him in two garments, and do not apply perfume or cover his head, for Allah will resurrect him in a state of ihram." 'Amr said, "He will be resurrected as a muhallaq." Isma'il said the same, as did Musaddad, but 'Arim disagreed. Sulayman ibn Harb also agreed that 'Amr said he will be resurrected in a state of ihram, while Ayyub said he will be resurrected as a muhallaq. Muslim narrated it from Abu al-Rabi'. [Sources: Ibn Jurayj and Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah, from 'Amr, as narrated by Muslim from Abu al-Rabi', from Hammad, from both of them, as 'Arim said. Ibn Jurayj also narrated it, as did Sufyan, from 'Amr, as narrated by Ibn Jurayj from Hammad from both of them.]
[Machine] "Wash him with water and lotus leaves, and shroud him in his two garments, do not cover his face or head; for he will be raised on the Day of Resurrection wearing them."
[Machine] That a man's camel died, and we were with the Prophet ﷺ in a state of ihram. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wash it with water and sidr and shroud it in its own garments, and do not touch it with perfume, nor cover its head; for indeed, Allah will resurrect it on the Day of Resurrection, saddled."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Cover your face but do not cover your head." Abu Bakr ibn al-Hasan al-Qadi narrated to us that Abu al-Abbas al-Asamm informed us that al-Rabi' narrated to us that al-Shafi'i reported from Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah who said, "And Ibrahim ibn Abi Hurrah added it (the statement of the Prophet)."
[Machine] He said: I saw Uthman ibn Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, on the Day of Arafah while he was in ihram (state of consecration), and his face was covered with a purple cloth.
[Machine] He saw Uthman bin Affan covering his face while in a state of ihram.
[Machine] That Uthman ibn Affan, Zaid ibn Thabit, and Marwan ibn al-Hakam used to wrap their faces even though they were free.
[Machine] The pilgrim washes himself and washes his clothes and covers his nose from the dust and covers his face while he is asleep, and Ibn Umar disagreed with them.
[Machine] "That Abdullah bin Umar used to say that whatever is above the chin from the head should not be covered by the pilgrim."
