[Machine] "Whoever Allah wants good for, He grants him understanding of the religion. Indeed, this money is green and sweet. So whoever takes it rightfully, it will be blessed for him. Then he says, 'I heard these words from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the pulpit, and indeed, the one who hears and obeys has no argument against him, and indeed, the one who hears and disobeys has no argument in his favor.'"  

«مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ وَإِنَّ هَذَا الْمَالَ خَضِرَةٌ حُلْوَةٌ فَمَنْ يَأْخُذُهُ بِحَقِّهِ يُبَارَكْ لَهُ فِيهِ» ثُمَّ يَقُولُ «سَمِعْتُ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَإِنَّ السَّامِعَ الْمُطِيعَ لَا حُجَّةَ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنَّ السَّامِعَ الْعَاصِيَ لَا حُجَّةَ لَهُ»  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Whoever Allah intends good for, He gives him understanding of the religion and guides him on the right path."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ وَيُلْهِمُهُ رُشْدَهُ»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "O Allah, there is no withholder for what You have given, nor giver for what You have withheld. Whoever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»  

[Machine] A group of people in the time of Muawiya used to witness the dawn prayer and sit near the corner of the congregation. When the prayer was finished, they would turn to the side of the mosque and remember Allah and recite the Book of Allah until the daylight. Muawiya was informed about them, so he came walking or running until he stood in front of them. He said, "I have come to give you glad tidings from Allah about what He has provided for you. Verily, there are some people in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ whom I think you are similar to in their actions." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ approached us as if he was narrating a story while walking, until he stood in front of us and said, "Rejoice, for by Him in Whose Hand is my soul, indeed Allah boasts to the angels about you."  

أَنَّ نَفَرًا كَانُوا فِي عَهْدِ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَشْهَدُونَ الْفَجْرَ وَيَجْلِسُونَ عِنْدَ قَاصِّ الْجَمَاعَةِ فَإِذَا سَلَّمَ تَحَوَّلُوا إِلَى نَاحِيَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَيَذْكُرُونَ اللهَ وَيَتْلُونَ كِتَابَ اللهِ حَتَّى يَتَعَالَى النَّهَارُ فَأُخْبِرَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بِهِمْ فَجَاءَ يُهَرْوِلُ أَوْ يَسْعَى فِي مِشْيَتِهِ حَتَّى وَقَفَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ جِئْتُ أُبَشِّرُكُمْ بِبُشْرَى اللهِ فِيمَا رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّ نَفَرًا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ كَانُوا يَصْنَعُونَ نَحْوًا مِمَّا تَصْنَعُونَ فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَأَنِّي أَحْكِيهِ فِي مِشْيَتِهِ حَتَّى وَقَفَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ «أَبْشِرُوا وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يُبَاهِي بِكُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever loves the Ansar, then by my love, I love them. And whoever hates the Ansar, then by my hatred, I hate them."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحَبَّ الْأَنْصَارَ فَبِحُبِّي أَحَبَّهُمْ وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَ الْأَنْصَارَ فَبِبُغْضِي أَبْغَضَهُمْ»  

[Machine] Muawiyah delivered a speech and spoke about something that people disputed. They responded to him, so he explained it and said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'There will be rulers who will say and their words will not be responded to. They will be rushed towards the Fire, and each one will be followed by another.'"  

خَطَبَ مُعَاوِيَةُ فَتَكَلَّمَ بِشَيْءٍ مِمَّا يُنْكِرُهُ النَّاسُ فَرَدُّوا عَلَيْهِ فَسَّرَهُ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ يَقُولُونَ وَلَا يُرَدُّ عَلَيْهِمْ يَتَهَافَتُونَ فِي النَّارِ يَتْبَعُ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out until he ascended the pulpit and mentioned the martyrs of Uhud and prayed for them and increased the prayer. Then he said, "Indeed, one of the slaves of Allah was given the choice between this world and what is with Allah, so he chose what is with Allah." No one responded except Abu Bakr, he said, "We would sacrifice our fathers and mothers for you." He said, "The best people to me in companionship and possession are the ones with the hands of Ibn Abi Quhafa."  

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى صَعِدَ الْمِنْبَرَ وَذَكَرَ قَتْلَى أُحُدٍ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَكْثَرَ الصَّلَاةَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنَّ عَبْدًا مِنْ عَبَّادِ اللهِ خَيَّرَهُ اللهُ بَيْنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا عِنْدَهُ فَاخْتَارَ مَا عِنْدَ اللهِ» فَلَمْ يَلْقَهَا إِلَّا أَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَ نَحْنُ نَفْدِيكَ بِآبَائِنَا وَأُمَّهَاتِنَا فَقَالَ «عَلَى رِسْلِكَ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ إِنَّ أَفْضَلَ النَّاسِ عِنْدِي فِي الصُّحْبَةِ وَذَاتِ يَدِهِ ابْنُ أَبِي قُحَافَةَ»  

I heard Muawiya bin Abi Sufyan delivering a sermon. He said, "I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "If Allah wants to do a favor to somebody, He bestows on him, the gift of understanding the Qur'an and Sunna. I am but a distributor, and Allah is the Giver. The state of this nation will remain good till the Hour is established, or till Allah's Order comes." (Using translation from Bukhārī 7312)

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»  

[Machine] "Come to prayer, Come to success." He said, "There is no power or strength except with Allah. That's how I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying."  

حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ قَالَ «لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "I am not a dadder, nor is anyone a dadder from me."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَسْتُ مِنْ دَدٍ وَلَا دَدٌ مِنِّي»  

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever adds something to his hair that is not from it, then he increases falsehood in it."  

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ زَادَ فِي شَعْرِهِ شَيْئًا لَيْسَ مِنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَزِيدُ فِيهِ زُورًا»  

[Machine] I heard Muawiyah bin Abu Sufyan in Al-Madinah holding a document in his hand containing stories of women. He said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade such actions and said, "The people of Bani Israel were destroyed when their women did this."  

سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ بِيَدِهِ قُصَّةٌ مِنْ قُصَصِ النِّسَاءِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ مِثْلِ هَذَا وَقَالَ «إِنَّمَا هَلَكَتْ بَنِو إِسْرَائِيلَ حِينَ اتَّخَذَ نِسَاؤُهُمْ هَذَا»  

[Machine] I heard Muawiyah giving a sermon from the pulpit saying, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever Allah intends to do good for, He grants him understanding of the religion.'"  

سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَهُوَ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»  

[Machine] What is wrong with your women that they put something like this on their heads? I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Any woman who puts on her head the hair of someone else besides her own, it is deceitful."  

مَا بَالُ نِسَائِكُمْ يَجْعَلُونَ فِي رُءُوسِهِمْ مِثْلَ هَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ تَجْعَلُ فِي رَأْسِهَا شَعْرًا مِنْ شَعْرِ غَيْرِهَا إِلَّا كَانَ زُورًا»  

[Machine] He heard Muawiyah on the pulpit, and he had a pile of women's hair with him. So he said, "What is wrong with Muslim women to do this? Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Any woman who adds hair to her head that is not her own, it is deceit.'"  

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ وَمَعَهُ كُبَّةٌ مِنْ كُبَبِ النِّسَاءِ فَقَالَ مَا بَالُ الْمُسْلِمَاتِ يَصْنَعْنَ هَذَا إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ زَادَتْ فِي رَأْسِهَا شَعْرًا لَيْسَ مِنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ زُورٌ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There will always be a group in this Ummah (Muslim nation) who will fight for the cause of Allah. Their enemies will not harm them, nor will those who desert them, until the command of Allah (is fulfilled) and they are victorious in that regard."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَزَالُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ قَوْمٌ يُقَاتِلُونَ عَلَى أَمْرِ اللهِ لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ عَدَاوَةُ مَنْ عَادَاهُمْ وَلَا خِذْلَانُ مَنْ خَذَلَهُمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُمْ أَمْرُ اللهِ تَعَالَى وَهُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ»  

[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever hears the caller to prayer and says what he says, will have the same reward as him."  

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ سَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ فَقَالَ مِثْلَ مَا يَقُولُ فَلَهُ مِثْلُ أَجْرِهِ»  

Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited Shighar. (Using translation from Muslim 1415c)  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ» نَهَى عَنِ الشِّغَارِ  

[Machine] "That Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, Muawiyah said, 'I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.' Then Muawiyah said, 'This is how I heard the Prophet say ﷺ .'"  

أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ «أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ «هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ»  

[Machine] I heard Muawiyah when he was on the pulpit in Al-Madinah saying, "O people of Al-Madinah, where are your scholars? I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibiting (denouncing) such a narration. And he placed his hand on his head, and I have not seen anything more beautiful than it on a bride or anyone other than Muawiyah."  

سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ يَقُولُ «يَا أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَيْنَ فُقَهَاؤُكُمْ؟ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ» يَنْهَى عَنْ مِثْلِ هَذِهِ الْقُصَّةِ « وَوَضَعَهَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ فَلَمْ أَرَهَا عَلَى عَرُوسٍ وَلَا عَلَى غَيْرِهَا أَجْمَلَ مِنْهَا عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, we used to observe fasting on the day of Ashura during the time of ignorance. Then Allah obligated upon us the fasting of Ramadan and He abandoned for us the fasting of Ashura. So whoever wants can fast it, and whoever wants can break their fast."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ كُنَّا نَصُومُهُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَفَرَضَ اللهُ عَلَيْنَا صِيَامَ رَمَضَانَ فَوَضَعَ عَنَّا صِيَامَ عَاشُورَاءَ فَمَنْ شَاءَ صَامَهُ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَفْطَرَهُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not rush towards something thinking that if you rush to it, you will achieve it, and even if Allah has not decreed it for you, you will not attain it. And do not delay something thinking that if you delay it, you have been saved from it, even if Allah has destined it for you."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَعْجَلْ إِلَى شَيْءٍ تَظُنُّ أَنَّكَ إِنِ اسْتَعْجَلْتَ إِلَيْهِ أَنْتَ مُدْرِكُهُ وَإِنْ كَانَ اللهُ لَمْ يُقَدِّرْهُ لَكَ وَلَا تَسْتَأْخِرَنَّ عَنْ شَيْءٍ تَظُنُّ أَنَّكَ إِنِ اسْتَأْخَرْتَ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ فَرَغَ عَنْكَ وَإِنْ كَانَ اللهُ قَدْ قَدَّرَهُ عَلَيْكَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not persist in asking, for by Allah, no one among you asks me for something which I can give him that I will give him, and I have no liking for him. So, blessed is he in what I have given him."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تُلْحِفُوا فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ فَوَاللهِ لَا يَسْأَلُنِي أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ شَيْئًا فَيُخْرِجُهُ لَهُ مِنِّي الْمَسْأَلَةُ فَأُعْطِيهِ إِيَّاهُ وَأَنَا لَهُ كَارِهٌ فَيُبَارَكُ لَهُ فِي الَّذِي أَعْطَيْتُهُ»  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, a person asks me for something and I give it to him so that you may intercede and be rewarded."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ «الرَّجُلَ لَيَسْأَلُنِي الشَّيْءَ فَأَمْنَعُهُ كَيْ تَشْفَعُوا فَتُؤْجَرُوا»  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If Allah wants to do good for somebody, he makes him comprehend the Religion (i.e. Islam), and Allah is the Giver and I am Al-Qasim (i.e. the distributor), and this (Muslim) nation will remain victorious over their opponents, till Allah's Order comes and they will still be victorious." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3116)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If Allah wants to do good for somebody, he makes him comprehend the Religion (i.e. Islam), and Allah is the Giver and I am Al-Qasim (i.e. the distributor), and this (Muslim) nation will remain victorious over their opponents, till Allah's Order comes and they will still be victorious." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3116)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»  

[Machine] "About Muawiyah."  

عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered me not to visit my family when the new moon appears, not to perform ablution with copper utensils, and to rinse my mouth every time I wake up from sleep."  

«أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ لَا آتِيَ أَهْلِي فِي غُرَّةِ الْهِلَالِ وَأَنْ لَا أَتَوَضَّأَ فِي طُهْرَةِ النَّحَّاسِ وَأَنْ أَسْتَنَّ كُلَّمَا قُمْتُ مِنْ سُنَّتِي»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said about the Night of Qadr, "It is on the twenty-seventh."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ «سَبْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ»  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Seek out the Night of Decree on the twenty-seventh night."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْتَمِسُوا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ لَيْلَةَ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ»  

[Machine] "From the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , he mentioned these words frequently in gatherings: 'Whoever Allah wishes good for, He grants understanding of the religion. Indeed, this wealth is green and sweet. So whoever takes it rightly, it will be blessed for him and for both of you. As for praising oneself, it is like slaughtering a sacrifice.'"  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَيَذْكُرُ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ يُكْثِرُ أَنْ يُحَدِّثَ بِهِنَّ فِي الْجُمَعِ «مَنْ يُرِدِ اللهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ وَإِنَّ هَذَا الْمَالَ خَضِرٌ حُلْوٌ فَمَنْ أَخَذَهُ بِحَقِّهِ بُورِكَ لَهُ فِيهِ وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالتَّمَادُحَ فَإِنَّهُ الذَّبْحُ»  

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The world is sweet and green, and whoever takes it rightfully, it will be blessed for him in it."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الدُّنْيَا حُلْوَةٌ خَضِرَةٌ فَمَنْ أَخَذَهَا بِحَقِّهَا بُورِكَ لَهُ فِيهَا»  

[Machine] Narrated from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his sermon, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Beware of excessive praise, for it is a slaughtering."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اتَّقُوا التَّمَادُحَ فَإِنَّهُ الذَّبْحُ»  

[Machine] "You used to perform this prayer, indeed we accompanied the Messenger of Allah and we saw him praying this prayer after Asr prayer."  

«إِنَّكُمْ لَتُصَلُّونَ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ لَقَدْ صَحِبْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَرَأَيْنَاهُ فَمَا رَأَيْنَاهُ يُصَلِّي هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةَ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ» يَعْنِي الْعَصْرَ  

[Machine] Muawiyah entered a house where Abdullah ibn 'Amir and Ibn Zubayr were present. Ibn Zubayr sat down while Abdullah ibn 'Amir stood up. Muawiyah said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever is pleased to have men stand up for him, let him take his seat in the Fire.'"  

أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ دَخَلَ بَيْتًا فِيهِ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ وَابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ فَقَعَدَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ وَقَامَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَامِرٍ وَكَانَ أَرْزَنَ الرَّجُلَيْنِ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَتَمَثَّلَ لَهُ الرِّجَالُ قِيَامًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»  

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Whoever is pleased to have men stand up for him, let him take his seat in the fire."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَتَمَثَّلَ لَهُ الرِّجَالُ قِيَامًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever wishes to be revered by people while standing, then let him take his seat in the Hellfire."  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَتَمَثَّلَ لَهُ النَّاسُ قِيَامًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»  

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Whoever is pleased for men to resemble him while standing, let him take his place in the fire."  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَتَمَثَّلَ لَهُ الرِّجَالُ قِيَامًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ»  

[Machine] "The leveling of graves is from the Sunnah, and the Jews and Christians have raised them, so do not resemble them."  

«إِنَّ تَسْوِيَةَ الْقُبُورِ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ وَقَدْ رَفَعَتِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى فَلَا تَشَّبَّهُوا بِهِمَا»  

[Machine] "Do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited drinking from golden and silver vessels?" They replied, "O Allah, yes."  

لِنَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ  

[Machine] "Do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade drinking from vessels made of gold and silver?" They said, "O Allah, yes."  

لِنَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ  

Muʿāwiyah asked a group of the Prophet's companions, 'Do you know that the Prophet ﷺ forbade drinking from vessels made of gold and silver?' They replied, 'By Allah, yes.'  

أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ لِنَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ  

[Machine] I was in a gathering with the companions of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , with Muawiyah. Muawiyah said, "I adjure you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prohibited wearing silk?" They responded, "O Allah, yes." He said, "And I bear witness." He then said, "I adjure you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , forbade drinking from vessels made of gold and silver?" They responded, "O Allah, yes." He said, "And I bear witness."  

كُنْتُ فِي مَلَأٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عِنْدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ نَشَدْتُكُمْ بِاللهِ هَلْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لِبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ قَالَ نَشَدْتُكُمْ بِاللهِ هَلْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشَّرَابِ فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ  

[Machine] I heard Muawiyah, who had a group of the Prophet's companions with him, say, "I swear by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing silk?" They said, "O Allah, yes."  

سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَعِنْدَهُ رَهْطٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ أَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللهِ هَلْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لِبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ  

[Machine] One day, the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , said: "Do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing gold except in small amounts?" They said, "O Allah, yes." He said: "Do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade riding on the skins of tigers?" They said, "O Allah, yes." He said: "Do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade combining Hajj and Umrah?" They said, "O Allah, no."  

يَوْمًا وَعِنْدَهُ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ لِبْسِ الذَّهَبِ إِلَّا مُقَطَّعًا؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الرُّكُوبِ عَلَى جُلُودِ النِّمَارِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ جَمْعٍ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ لَا  

[Machine] I was with Mu'awiyah, and there were people with him from the Muhajireen and the Ansar. Mu'awiyah said, "I swear by Allah, do you not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited wearing gold except in a cut form?" They said, "O Allah, yes." He said, "Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited drinking from silver utensils?" They said, "O Allah, yes." He said, "Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited combining Hajj and Umrah?" They said, "O Allah, yes."  

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَعِنْدَهُ نَاسٌ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ» نَهَى عَنْ لِبْسِ الذَّهَبِ إِلَّا مُقَطَّعًا؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي آنِيَةِ الْفِضَّةِ؟» قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «أَلَسْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ يُجْمَعَ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ» قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ  

[Machine] Muawiyah performed Hajj and called a group of Ansar and said, "I ask you by Allah, did you not learn that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited gold?" They said, "Yes, O Allah, he did." He said, "And I also bear witness." He then said, "I ask you by Allah, did you not hear that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited silk carpets?" They said, "Yes, O Allah, we did." He said, "And I also bear witness." He then said, "I ask you by Allah, did you not hear that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited tiger-striped garments?" They said, "Yes, O Allah, we did." He said, "And I also bear witness."  

حَجَّ مُعَاوِيَةُ فَدَعَا نَفَرًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَلَمْ تَعَلَّمُوا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ» نَهَى عَنِ الذَّهَبِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ» قَالَ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ صُفَفِ الْحَرِيرِ؟» قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنْ صُفَفِ النُّمُورِ؟» قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ»  

[Machine] He witnessed Muawiyah and with him were some of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . He said, "I swear to you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wearing gold except in a cut form?" They said, "O Allah, yes." He said, "And I bear witness." He said, "I swear to you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade riding on the fur of a tiger?" They said, "O Allah, yes." He said, "And I bear witness."  

أَنَّهُ شَهِدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ وَعِنْدَهُ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ» نَهَى عَنْ لِبْسِ الذَّهَبِ إِلَّا مُقَطَّعًا؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ» قَالَ «أَنْشُدُكُمُ اللهَ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ رُكُوبِ جُلُودِ النِّمَارِ؟» قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَأَنَا أَشْهَدُ»
