[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he went to relieve himself. Then he gestured to me, so I came to him with water, and he had a Syrian cloak on that had no sleeves. He put it on his shoulder and said, "Pour water on me." So I poured water on him, and he performed ablution and wiped over his socks. It was the sunnah for a traveler for three days and nights, and for a resident for a day and night.

Once Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to answer the call of nature and I followed him with a tumbler containing water, and when he finished, I poured water and he performed ablution and passed wet hands over his Khuffs (socks made from thick fabric or leather). (Using translation from Bukhārī 203)
