25.254 [Machine] Translation: "Abdullah bin Umar bin Khattab, from Muadh

[Machine] I heard a saying from the companion of this grave, meaning the Prophet ﷺ, "Indeed, the slightest form of showing off is shirk (associating partners with Allah), and the most beloved of servants to Allah are the most pious ones who hide their piety. They are the ones who, when they are absent, are not missed, and when they are present, they are not known. They are the leaders of guidance and the illuminating lamps of knowledge."

[Machine] Abdullah said, "What's the matter with you, Abu Abdur-Rahman? You seem to be talking to yourself." He replied, "What's wrong with me? The enemy of Allah wants to distract me from what I heard from Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." He said to me, "Engage in worship now, for the rest of your life, in your house. Do not go out to the gathering. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever strives in the cause of Allah, Allah will guarantee his safety. And whoever visits a sick person or travels, Allah will guarantee his safety. And whoever sits in his house and does not backbite anyone, Allah will guarantee his safety.'" So, the enemy of Allah wants to make me leave my house and go to the gathering.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There are five actions, whoever does one of them will be guaranteed by Allah: Visiting the sick, attending a funeral procession, participating in jihad, seeking the approval and respect of his leader, and staying at home to keep the people safe, while the people are safe from him."

tabarani:17254[Chain 1] al-Ḥasan b. al-ʿAbbās al-Rāzī > Sulaym b. Manṣūr b. ʿAmmār from my father [Chain 2] Aḥmad b. Yaḥyá b. Khālid b. Ḥabbān al-Raqqī > ʿAmr b. Bukayr b. Bakkār al-Qaʿnabī > Mujāshiʿ b. ʿAmr > Ibn Lahīʿah > Abū Qabīl > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAmr b. al-ʿĀṣ > Muʿādh b. Jabal

[Machine] Amr ibn Bukayr ibn Bakkar al-Qa'nabi narrated that Mujashi' ibn Amr narrated to us, who said that Ibn Lahiah narrated on the authority of Abu Qabail, who said that Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As informed him that Muadh ibn Jabal informed him, saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us with a changed complexion, and he said, 'I am Muhammad, granted the keys of speech and its endings. So obey me as long as I am among you. And when I depart from you, then upon you is the Book of Allah. Make the lawful of it lawful and the unlawful of it unlawful. Death has come to you with the truth. So do not let the shaytan take possession of you. Indeed the meeting place and the resting place of the souls is a book from Allah. There will come to you tribulations, like patches of morning darkness. Whenever one patch goes away, another patch comes. Prophethood will last among you for as long as Allah wills. Then Allah will remove it when He desires. Then there will come the Khilafah upon the Prophetic method.' Allah will have mercy on the one who takes it by its right and leaves it by virtue of His obedience. And he who turns away from it, then Allah will cast him aside just as he turned away. Then he said, 'O Muadh, count!' So I counted until I reached five. He said, 'Yazid, may Allah not bless Yazid.' Then his tears flowed and he said, 'A calamity will befall my grandson Husayn, and his family will be killed in front of him. By the One in whose hand is my soul, he will not be killed except by a people who oppose the command of Allah. They will differ and disagree among themselves.' Then he interlocked his fingers and said, 'Woe unto the offspring of Muhammad from a tyrant ruler, an oppressor, who will destroy the laws of Islam. A man from his family will call upon Allah and his supplication will not be answered. The people will differ among themselves, and it will be as such.' Then he said, 'After one hundred and twenty years, there will be swift death and sudden killing. In it will be their destruction, and a man from the offspring of Abbas will come after them.' And their words are the same."

[Machine] I was with the Prophet ﷺ and they mentioned a man in his presence. They said, "What an incapable man he is!" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Have you backbitten your brother?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, we only mentioned what is in him." He said, "If you have mentioned something about him that is not in him, then you have slandered him."
