[Machine] I heard my grandfather Mazidat al-Abdiyya saying, "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ held the banners of the Ansar and put them in the front row."  

سَمِعْتُ جَدِّي مَزِيدَةَ الْعَبْدِيَّ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَقَدَ رَايَاتِ الْأَنْصَارِ فَجَعَلَهُنَّ صُفَرًا»  

[Machine] "He was with the Prophet ﷺ that year, and they forgot about it."  

أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ذَلِكَ الْعَامَ وَأَنَّهُمْ أُنْسُوهَا  

[Machine] I went as a pilgrim and passed by a group of people praying near a mosque. They said, "This is the tree of the pledge of allegiance of Ridwan, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took the oath of allegiance." So I came to Sa'id ibn Al-Musayyib and informed him, and he said, "My father told me that it was under the tree of the pledge of allegiance." He said, "When we left the following year, we forgot about it and could not find it." Sa'id said, "If the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not know about it but you know, then you are more knowledgeable."  

خَرَجْتُ حَاجًّا فَمَرَرْتُ بِقَوْمٍ يُصَلُّونَ عِنْدَ مَسْجِدٍ يَقُولُونَ هَذِهِ شَجَرَةُ بَيْعَةِ الرِّضْوَانِ حِينَ بَايَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَتَيْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَنَّهُ «كَانَ فِيمَنْ بَايَعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ» قَالَ فَلَمَّا خَرَجْنَا مِنَ الْعَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ نَسِينَاهَا فَلَمْ نَقْدِرْ عَلَيْهَا قَالَ سَعِيدٌ «فَإِنْ كَانَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَعْلَمُوهَا وَعَلِمْتُمُوهَا فَأَنْتُمْ أَعْلَمُ»  

I had seen the tree. When I came to the spot afterwards, I could not recognise it. (Using translation from Muslim 1859c)  

«رَأَيْتُ الشَّجَرَةَ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهَا بَعْدُ فَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهَا»  

[Machine] His father came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "What is your name?" I said, "Sadness." He said, "You are easy." He said, "I do not leave her name." Sa'id said, "That is the sadness in us until the hour."  

أَنَّ أَبَاهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا اسْمُكَ؟» قُلْتُ حَزْنٌ قَالَ «أَنْتَ سَهْلٌ» قَالَ لَا أَدَعُ اسْمَهَا قَالَ سَعِيدٌ «تِلْكَ الْحُزُونَةُ فِينَا إِلَى السَّاعَةِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked his grandfather, "What is your name?" His grandfather replied, "Huzn (Sadness)". The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No, you are Sahl (Easy)". He said, "I do not change a name that my father named me." So, that sadness remained within us afterward.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِجَدِّهِ «مَا اسْمُكَ؟» قَالَ حَزْنٌ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بَلْ أَنْتَ سَهْلٌ» قَالَ لَا أُغَيِّرُ اسْمًا سَمَّانِيهِ أَبِي «فَمَا زَالَتْ تِلْكَ الْحُزُونَةُ فِينَا بَعْدُ»
