Muʿāwiyah asked a group of the Prophet's companions, 'Do you know that the Prophet ﷺ forbade drinking from vessels made of gold and silver?' They replied, 'By Allah, yes.'  

الطبراني:١٦٩٣٥cحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي شَيْخٍ الْهُنَائِيِّ

أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ لِنَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الشُّرْبِ فِي آنِيَةِ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ؟ قَالُوا اللهُمَّ نَعَمْ
