The Prophet ﷺ said: '"Whoever narrates a Hadith from me thinking it to be false, then he is one of the two liars." (Either the one who invents a lie or the one who repeats it; both are liars). (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 38)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ حَدَّثَ عَنِّي بِحَدِيثٍ وَهُوَ يَرَى أَنَّهُ كَذِبٌ فَهُوَ أَحَدُ الْكَاذِبِينَ»  

[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ holding the garment of Sufyan ibn Sahl, the son of Abu Sahl, and he was saying, 'Do not drag your garment, as Allah does not love those who drag their garments.'"  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ آخِذٌ بِحُجْزَةِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «لَا تُسْبِلْ إِزَارَكَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْبِلِينَ»  

[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taking hold of Sufyan ibn Sahl's cloak and saying, 'O Sufyan, do not swear, for indeed Allah does not like those who swear.' This was narrated by Yazid ibn Harun from Shurayk from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr from Husayn ibn Uqbah. Sufyan ibn Sahl also said,"  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَخِذَاً بِرِدَاءِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «يَا سُفْيَانُ لَا تُسْبِلْ فَإِنَّ اللهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْبِلِينَ» هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The slogan of my nation on the straight path is 'peace, peace'."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ شِعَارُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ سَلِّمْ سَلِّمْ  

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "The slogan of my Ummah (followers) on the Day of Judgment will be 'O Lord, grant us peace and safety on the Straight Path'."  

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ شِعَارُ أُمَّتِي عَلَى الصِّرَاطِ رَبِّ سَلِّمْ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A group of people will come out of the Fire and enter Paradise and they will be called the Hell-dwellers in Paradise. They will then supplicate to Allah to remove that name from them, and Allah will erase it from them when they leave the Fire." The hadith was mentioned.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَخْرُجُ قَوْمٌ مِنَ النَّارِ فَيَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ فَيُسَمَّوْنَ الْجَهَنَّمِيُّونَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَيَدْعُونَ اللهَ أَنْ يُحَوِّلَ عَنْهُمْ ذَلِكَ الِاسْمَ فَيَمْحُو اللهُ عَنْهُمْ فَإِذَا خَرَجُوا مِنَ النَّارِ» فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ performed ablution and wiped over his socks.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ  

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ in his house, and I followed him. He asked, "Where did you leave the people?" I said, "I left them in such and such a place." Then, he mounted his ride and went off, disappearing from my sight. He stayed away for as long as it takes a person to fulfill his needs, then he came back and asked, "Do you have any water?" I said, "Yes," and I poured water onto his hands. He washed his face and hands, wiped his head, and there was a Shammiyah cloak on him that was tight on his hands. He then put his hand underneath the cloak and lifted it from his hands. After that, he washed his hands, face, wiped over his head and his feet. Then, he asked me, "Do you need something?" I said, "No." He said, "Then, let us ride until we catch up with the people."  

كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ فَقَالَ «أَيْنَ تَرَكْتَ النَّاسَ؟» فَقُلْتُ تَرَكْتُهُمْ بِمَكَانِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَأَنَاخَ رَاحِلَتَهُ فَنَزَلَ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ فَتَوَارَى عَنِّي فَاحْتَبَسَ بِقَدْرِ مَا يَقْضِي الرَّجُلُ حَاجَتَهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَقَالَ «أَمَعَكَ مَاءٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَصَبَبْتُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ قَدْ ضَاقَتْ يَدَاهَا فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَرَفَعَهَا عَنْ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ وَوَجْهَهُ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَخُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «أَلَكَ حَاجَةٌ؟» قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ فَرَكِبْنَا حَتَّى أَدْرَكْنَا النَّاسَ  

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiped his forehead and turban and wiped over his socks, and I witnessed that."  

«مَسَحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى نَاصِيَتِهِ وَعِمَامَتِهِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ» وَأَنَا شَاهِدٌ ذَلِكَ  

[Machine] There are two qualities that I do not ask anyone about after witnessing them with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : wiping over the footwear during ablution (masah al-khufayn) and the prayer of an imam behind some of his followers. We were traveling with the Messenger of Allah and stopped at a place. The Prophet ﷺ went aside to attend to his needs, and when he was done, I brought him some water. He performed ablution with a tight-sleeved caftan on, and he wiped over his forehead, turban, and footwear. Then, we joined the people who were praying. The people had already been led in prayer by Abdur-Rahman bin Auf, so we caught up with them and the Messenger of Allah completed the second rak'ah.  

خَصْلَتَانِ لَا أَسْأَلُ عَنْهُمَا أَحَدًا بَعْدَ أَنْ شَهِدْتُهُمَا مَعَ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ الْمَسْحُ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَصَلَاةُ إِمَامٍ خَلْفَ بَعْضِ رَعِيَّتِهِ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ فِي سَفَرٍ فَنَزَلْنَا مَنْزِلًا فَتَبَرَّزَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِبَعْضِ حَاجَتِهِ فَلَمَّا قَضَى حَاجَتَهُ أَتَيْتُهُ بِمَاءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ ضَيِّقَةُ الْكُمَّيْنِ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى نَاصِيَتِهِ وَعَلَى عِمَامَتِهِ وَعَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ أَتَيْنَا الْقَوْمَ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ وَقَدْ قَدَّمَ الْقَوْمُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ فَأَدْرَكْنَا مَعَهُمْ رَكْعَةً فَقَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الرَّكْعَةَ الْأُخْرَى  

[Machine] I accompanied the Prophet ﷺ to Abdullah bin Auf and he arrived late, so the Prophet ﷺ gestured to him and we prayed what we could catch up with and made up for what we had missed.  

انْتَهَيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ فَتَأَخَّرَ فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَصَلَّيْنَا مَا أَدْرَكْنَا وَقَضَيْنَا مَا سُبِقْنَا  

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey. When it was time for Asr prayer, my transport broke down. So, I walked with him until he disappeared from my sight. Then, he came back and asked, "What do you need?" I said, "I don't have any need." He said, "Do you have water with you?" I said, "Yes." He performed ablution and wiped over his socks, then he set out until he caught up with the people who were already praying, with Abdur Rahman ibn Awf leading them. The Prophet ﷺ motioned me to stay and pointed with his hand to Abdur Rahman, indicating that I should follow him. So, we prayed what we were able to catch up with and made up what we had missed.  

كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَ السَّحَرُ ضَرَبْتُ رَاحِلَتِي فَأَقْبَلْتُ مَعَهُ فَانْطَلَقَ حَتَّى تَغَيَّبَ عَنِّي ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَقَالَ «حَاجَتَكَ؟» فَقُلْتُ مَا لِي مِنْ حَاجَةٍ قَالَ «مَعَكَ مَاءٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ حَتَّى أَدْرَكَ النَّاسَ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ يَؤُمُّهُمْ فَتَحَرَّكَ لِجِيئَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنِ اثْبُتْ فَصَلَّيْنَا مَا أَدْرَكْنَا وَقَضَيْنَا مَا فَاتَنَا  

[Machine] And (that) I should send blessings upon a man from my subjects, and I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiping over his socks and praying behind Abdur Rahman ibn Awf.  

وَأَنْ أُصَلِّيَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ رَعِيَّتِي وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَصَلَّى خَلْفَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ  

[Machine] "I poured water onto the hands of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so he washed his hands, rinsed his mouth, sniffed water, washed his face, arms, wiped the top of his head, and over the turban and the socks."  

«صَبَبْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ وَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَذِرَاعَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ وَعَلَى الْعِمَامَةِ وَالْخُفَّيْنِ»  

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wiped over his forehead, his turban, and his socks.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «مَسَحَ عَلَى نَاصِيَتِهِ وَعَلَى عِمَامَتِهِ وَعَلَى خُفَّيْهِ»  

[Machine] He poured water on the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from a container. Then he performed ablution, washed his face, and there was a Shamity cloak on it with tight sleeves. He then took out his hands, washed them, wiped over his turban, his socks, and we joined Abdul Rahman bin Awf while he was praying, and he had already prayed one unit. So we prayed one unit with him, and we completed the unit that we had missed.  

أَنَّهُ أَفْرَغَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ سَطِيحَةٍ قَالَ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ ضَيِّقَةُ الْكُمِّ أَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا وَمَسَحَ عَلَى عِمَامَتِهِ وَخُفَّيْهِ وَأَتَيْنَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَقَدْ صَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً فَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ الرَّكْعَةَ الَّتِي أَدْرَكْنَا وَقَضَيْنَا الرَّكْعَةَ الَّتِي سُبِقْنَا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution and wiped over the socks and turban.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ وَالْعِمَامَةِ  

[Machine] I asked Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ adopt anyone other than Abu Bakr as a son?" He said, "Yes, I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and when it was time for magic, he tied my camel and tied himself with me. He fulfilled his needs and then said, 'O Mughirah, do you have any need?' I said, 'I have no need.' He said, 'Do you have water?' So, he called for a container or a shallow vessel and washed his hands and face. Then, he began to untie the cuffs of his sleeves, but the sleeve of a Syrian garment that he was wearing became tight. So, he took his hands out from under the garment, washed them, wiped his forehead, and wiped on his socks. Then, we joined the people, and the prayer had already been established, led by Abdur-Rahman bin Awf. He had already prayed with them one Rak'ah, so I made the call to prayer and he stopped me. We prayed what we caught up with and then completed what we had missed."  

سَأَلْتُ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ هَلْ أَمَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَحَدٌ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ سِوَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَلَمَّا كَانَ مِنَ السَّحَرِ ضَرَبَ عُنُقَ رَاحِلَتِي فَمَالَ وَمِلْتُ مَعَهُ فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ «يَا مُغِيرَةُ حَاجَتَكَ» قُلْتُ لَيْسَ لِي حَاجَةٌ قَالَ «هَلْ مِنْ مَاءٍ؟» فَدَعَا بِإِدَاوَةٍ أَوْ سَطِيحَةٍ فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ يَحْسِرُ عَنْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فَضَاقَتْ كُمُّ جُبَّةٍ شَامِيَّةٍ كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ قَالَ ثُمَّ انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى النَّاسِ وَقَدْ أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَقَدْ أَمَّهُمْ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ وَقَدْ صَلَّى بِهِمُ رََكْعَةً فَذَهَبْتُ أُوذِنُهُ فَنَهَانِي فَصَلَّيْنَا الَّذِي أَدْرَكْنَا وَقَضَيْنَا الَّذِي سُبِقْنَا  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ poured water and washed his hands. Then he washed his face. When he wanted to wash his arms, he had a tight-sleeved garment on him. So he pulled his hands out from under the garment and washed his arms. Then he wiped his forehead and wiped his head and over his turban and his feet.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَفْرَغَ مَاءً فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَغْسِلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ ضَيِّقَةُ الْكُمَّيْنِ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ وَعَلَى عِمَامَتِهِ وَخُفَّيْهِ  

(I think that the people of Ziyad informed me that he reported on the authority of the Prophet ﷺ: A rider should go behind the bier, and those on foot should walk behind it, in front of it, on its right and on its left keeping near it. Prayer should be offered over an abortion and forgiveness and mercy supplicated for its parents. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3180)  

أَنَّهُ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الرَّاكِبُ يَمْشِي خَلْفَ الْجَنَازَةِ وَالْمَاشِي يَمْشِي خَلْفَهَا وَعَن يَمِينِهَا وَعَن يَسَارِهَا وَالسِّقْطُ يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَيُدْعَى لِوَالِدَيْهِ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Prayers should be offered for the miscarriage and its parents should be sought with well-being and mercy." Sufyan did not narrate this.  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «السِّقْطُ يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَيُدْعَى لِأَبَوَيْهِ بِالْعَافِيَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ» لَمْ يَرْفَعْهُ سُفْيَانُ  

"The Messenger of Allah said: The riders should move behind the Janazah and the pedestrian may walk wherever he wishes, and the (funeral) prayer should be offered for a child."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1942)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الرَّاكِبُ خَلْفَ الْجَنَازَةِ وَالْمَاشِي حَيْثُ شَاءَ مِنْهَا وَالطِّفْلُ يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ»  

The Prophet said: "The rider is to be behind the funeral (procession), and the walker where he wishes, and the child should be prayed over." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1031)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الرَّاكِبُ خَلْفَ الْجَنَازَةِ وَالْمَاشِي حَيْثُ شَاءَ وَالطِّفْلُ يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ»  

The Prophet said: "The rider is to be behind the funeral (procession), and the walker where he wishes, and the child should be prayed over." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1031)  

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الرَّاكِبُ خَلْفَ الْجَنَازَةِ وَالْمَاشِي حَيْثُ شَاءَ وَالطِّفْلُ يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Horses are tied to the goodness in their foreheads until the Day of Resurrection, and their owners will be rewarded for them."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَأَهْلُهَا مُعَانُونَ عَلَيْهَا»  

[Machine] "I prayed next to the Prophet ﷺ and he noticed the smell of garlic coming from me. He said, 'What is this smell?' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I had a chest pain so I ate garlic and the Prophet ﷺ did not criticize me.'"  

صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَوَجَدَ مِنِّي رِيحَ الثُّومِ قَالَ «مَا هَذِه الرِّيحُ؟» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اشْتَكَيْتُ صَدْرِي فَأَكَلْتُ فَلَمْ يَعِبْهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ  

[Machine] My father appeared in front of me with long hair and one eye, so I approached him. When he returned to us, we asked him, "What did he say to you?" He replied, "When I praised and thanked Allah, I said, 'We used to be the farthest people from any settlement, the hungriest people, the most miserable people, and the farthest people from any goodness, until Allah sent us a messenger. He promised us victory in this world and Paradise in the Hereafter, and we knew no prosperity or victory from our Lord until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us.'"  

أَبِي فَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ طَوِيلَ الشَّعْرِ أَعْوَرَ فَأَتَاهُ فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ إِلَيْنَا سَأَلْنَاهُ مَا قَالَ لَهُ؟ فَقَالَ لَمَّا حَمِدْتُ اللهَ وَأَثْنَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَقُلْتُ «إِنْ كُنَّا لَأَبْعَدَ النَّاسِ دَارًا وَأَشَدَّ النَّاسِ جُوعًا وَأَعْظَمَ النَّاسِ شَقَاءً وَأَبْعَدَ النَّاسِ مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ حَتَّى بَعَثَ اللهُ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًا فَوَعَدَنَا النَّصْرَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْجَنَّةَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ فَلَمْ نَزَلْ نَعْرِفُ مِنْ رَبِّنَا مُنْذُ جَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْفَلَاحَ وَالنَّصْرَ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَاكُمْ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ moved aside, and I moved aside with him. I approached him and he said, "Do you have water?" I said, "Yes." So he washed his hands, face, and then he went to wash his hands again. He was wearing a cloak that seemed tight, so he took his hands out from under the cloak and washed them, then he wiped over his socks. Then he came to pray while Abdullah bin Awf was leading the people in prayer. When they saw the Prophet ﷺ , they stepped back, so he went to join them.  

تَنَحَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَتَنَحَّيْتُ مَعَهُ فَدَنَوْتُ مِنْهُ قَالَ «مَعَكَ مَاءٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ وَوَجْهَهُ وَذَهَبَ يَغْسِلُ يَدَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ فَضَاقَتْ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ أَسْفَلِ الْجُبَّةِ فَغَسَلَهُمَا ثُمَّ مَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ جَاءَ يُصَلِّي وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ تَنَحْنَحُوا فَذَهَبَ يَتَأَخَّرُ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ امْضِهْ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to relieve himself, and I went with him. He finished his task and I brought him water for purification. He performed ablution and washed his face. Then, he wanted to wash his hands, but he was wearing a tight Yemeni cloak. So, he pulled out his hands from under the cloak and washed his face, arms, wiped over his turban and shoes. We joined the people, and Abdur Rahman ibn Awf led them in the Fajr prayer. When the Prophet ﷺ saw him, he intended to step back, signaling to him to continue his prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led the prayer while I stood behind Abdur Rahman ibn Awf, praying an extra Rak'ah after he finished his prayer. When the Prophet ﷺ completed his prayer, he stood up and prayed another Rak'ah and did not add anything to it.  

تَخَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَتَخَلَّفْتُ مَعَهُ فَقَضَى حَاجَتَهُ وَأَتَيْتُهُ بِالْمِطْهَرَةِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَغْسِلَ يَدَيْهِ وَكَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ ضَيِّقَةُ الْكُمَّيْنِ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَذِرَاعَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْعِمَامَةِ وَالْخُفَّيْنِ فَأَتَيْنَا النَّاسَ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ يُصَلِّي بِهِمْ صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ فَلَمَّا رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَتَأَخَّرَ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يَمْضِي فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ خَلْفَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ رَكْعَةً فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَصَلَّى إِلَيْهَا رَكْعَةً أُخْرَى فَلَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَيْهَا شَيْئًا  

Mughirah bin Shubah said: “I came to the Prophet and told him of a woman to whom I had to propose marriage. He said: 'Go and look at her, for that is more likely to create love between you.' So I went to a woman among the Ansar and proposed marriage through her parents. I told them what the Prophet had said, and it was as if they did not like that. Then I heard that woman, behind her curtain, say: 'If the Messenger of Allah has told you to do that, then do it, otherwise I adjure you by Allah (not to do so)'. And it was as if she regarded that as a serious matter. So I looked at her and married her.” And he mentioned how well he got along with her. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1866)  

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ امْرَأَةً أَخْطُبُهَا فَقَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا» فَأَتَيْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَخَطَبْتُهَا إِلَى أَبَوَيْهَا وَأَخْبَرْتُهُمَا بِقَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَكَأَنَّهُمَا كَرِهَِا ذَلِكَ فَسَمِعَتْ ذَلِكَ الْمَرْأَةُ وَهِي فِيَ خِدْرِهَا فَقَالَتْ إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَكَ أَنْ تَنْظُرَ فَانْظُرْ وَإِلَّا فَإِنِّي أَنْشُدُكَ كَأَنَّهَا أَعْظَمَتْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهَا فَتَزَوَّجْتُهَا  

[Machine] I went to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned a woman that I wanted to marry. He said, "Go and look at her because it is more fitting for you to be pleased with her." So, I went to a woman from the Ansar, proposed to her, and informed her parents about the Prophet's ﷺ statement. It seemed as though they disapproved of it. The woman overheard this conversation while she was in her room and said, "If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has ordered you to look at me, then look, otherwise, I advise you to reconsider because it seems like this issue is causing problems." I looked at her and then married her.  

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ امْرَأَةً أَخْطُبُهَا فَقَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا» فَأَتَيْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَخَطَبْتُهَا إِلَى أَبَوَيْهَا وَأَخْبَرْتُهُمَا بِقَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَكَأَنَّهُمَا كَرِهَِا ذَلِكَ فَسَمِعَتْ ذَلِكَ الْمَرْأَةُ وَهِي فِيَ خِدْرِهَا فَقَالَتْ إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَكَ أَنْ تَنْظُرَ فَانْظُرْ وَإِلَّا فَإِنِّي أَنْشُدُكَ كَأَنَّهَا أَعْظَمَتْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهَا فَتَزَوَّجْتُهَا  

[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned a woman to him whom I intended to marry. He said, "Go and look at her, for it is more fitting that love and compatibility is established between you." So, I went to a woman from the Ansar and proposed to her through her parents, informing them of the Prophet's ﷺ advice. However, both her parents seemed displeased with this idea. The woman overheard their conversation while she was in her tent and said, "If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded you to look, then look. Otherwise, I implore you to witness that I consider this matter to be of the greatest importance." Upon hearing this, I turned and looked at her, and then I married her.  

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ امْرَأَةً أَخْطُبُهَا فَقَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا» فَأَتَيْتُ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَخَطَبْتُهَا إِلَى أَبَوَيْهَا وَأَخْبَرْتُهُمَا بِقَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَكَأَنَّهُمَا كَرِهَِا ذَلِكَ فَسَمِعَتْ ذَلِكَ الْمَرْأَةُ وَهِي فِيَ خِدْرِهَا فَقَالَتْ إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَكَ أَنْ تَنْظُرَ فَانْظُرْ وَإِلَّا فَإِنِّي أَنْشُدُكَ كَأَنَّهَا أَعْظَمَتْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهَا فَتَزَوَّجْتُهَا  

[Machine] I proposed to a girl from the Ansar and I mentioned it to the Prophet ﷺ. He asked, "Have you seen her?" I said, "No." He said, "Then look at her, for it is more appropriate that there be compatibility between you."  

خَطَبْتُ جَارِيَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «رَأَيْتَهَا؟» قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ «فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا»  

[Machine] I asked the Prophet ﷺ to appoint me as the leader of my people, and he said, "Perform the prayer that is the strongest among the people, and do not appoint a muezzin who takes a wage for his call to prayer."  

سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي إِمَامَ قَوْمِي فَقَالَ «صَلِّ صَلَاةَ أَضْعَفِ الْقَوْمِ وَلَا تَتَّخِذْ مُؤَذِّنًا يَأْخُذُ عَلَى أَذَانِهِ أَجْرًا»  

[Machine] I followed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he ordered a sheep to be cooked for me. He took my mustache hair with a blade attached to a siwak (tooth stick) and started to trim it with it. Then, Bilal came to inform him of the prayer, so he threw the blade and told him, "May your hands be blessed." He said, "And my mustache had done its duty." He then narrated the story to me.  

ضِفْتُ لِرَسُولِ الله ﷺ فَأَمَرَ لِي بِجَنْبٍ فَشُوِي وَأَخَذَ مِنْ شَارِبِي عَلَى سِوَاكٍ بِالشَّفْرَةِ فَجَعَلَ يَجُزُّ بِهَا مِنْهُ فَجَاءَ بِلَالٌ يُؤْذِنُهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَأَلْقَى الشَّفْرَةَ وَقَالَ لَهُ «تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكَ» قَالَ وَكَانَ شَارِبِي قَدْ وَفَي فَقَصَّهُ عَلَيَّ  

[Machine] I met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one night and he ordered a stick to be brought, which was then sharpened. He took the stick and started scraping his own teeth with it, and then Bilal came to call him for prayer. He threw away the stick and asked, "Why are his hands dirty?" I said, "It's because he had just fulfilled a promise and cleaned his teeth with a miswak (a teeth cleaning twig)."  

ضِفْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَأَمَرَ بِجَنْبٍ فَشُوِيَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ الشَّفْرَةَ فَجَعَلَ يَجُزُّ بِهَا مِنْهُ فَجَاءَ بِلَالٌ يُؤْذِنُهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَأَلْقَىَ الشَّفْرَةَ وَقَالَ «مَا لَهُ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاهُ؟» قَالَ وَكَانَ شَارِبِي قَدْ وَفَي فَقَصَّهُ عَلَى سِوَاكٍ  

[Machine] I had Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ consisting of grilled meat. He was using a toothstick (miswak) and said, "Your mustache has fulfilled its duty, O Mu'ghirah!" Then, he trimmed it with a blade (sharp edge).  

تَسَحَّرْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ الله ﷺ بِجَنْبٍ مَشْوِيٍّ وَكَانَ يَقْطَعُ بِالْمُدْيَةِ فَقَالَ «لَقَدْ وَفَي شَارِبُكَ يَا مُغِيرَةُ فَقَصَّهُ عَلَى سِوَاكٍ بِالشَّفْرَةِ»  

[Machine] I sat with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah cut for me from the side of a sheep with a knife. Bilal called the Adhan for Fajr prayer, so he threw the knife and said, "Why do his hands not have soil on them?" My mustache was long, and I had fulfilled my vow, so he said, "Shall I trim it for you?" So he trimmed it on a siwak stick.  

ضِفْت بِآلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَزَّ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ مِنْ جَنْبِ شَاةٍ بِالشَّفْرَةِ فَأَذَّنَ بِلَالٌ بِالْفَجْرِ فَأَلْقَى الشَّفْرَةَ وَقَالَ «مَا لَهُ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاهُ؟» وَكَانَ شَارِبِي طَوِيلًا قَدْ وَفَي فَقَالَ «أَقُصُّهُ لَكَ؟» فَقَصَّهُ عَلَى سِوَاكٍ  

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Abd al-Aziz ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Amr from Abu Salama from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform ablution whenever he went on some of his travels. And whenever he went further, he would command me to follow him with ablution. So he came, wearing a Shammi garment and took out his hand from under it, performed ablution, and wiped over his socks.  

ثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ وَكَانَ إِذَا ذَهَبَ أَبْعَدَ وَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ أَتَّبِعَهُ بِوَضُوءٍ فَجَاءَ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ, when he went to relieve himself, would go far away. Once, he went to relieve himself while he was on one of his journeys, and he said, "Bring me ablution." So, I brought him ablution. He then took out his hands from under his cloak and performed ablution, and wiped over his socks.  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا ذَهَبَ الْمَذْهَبَ أَبْعَدَ فَذَهَبَ لِحَاجَةٍ وَهُوَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ فَقَالَ «ائْتِنِي بِوَضُوءٍ» فَجِئْتُهُ بِوَضُوءٍ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ  

[Machine] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during some of his journeys, and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ needed to relieve himself, he would go a distance away from the camp and say, "Follow me with water." So I followed him with a container, and he was wearing a tight upper garment with narrow sleeves. He then took out his hands from under the garment, performed ablution, and wiped over his socks.  

كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا ذَهَبَ فِي حَاجَةٍ أَبْعَدَ الْمَذْهَبَ فَقَالَ «اتْبَعْنِي بِالْمَاءِ» فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ بِإِدَاوَةٍ وَكَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ ضَيِّقَةُ الْكُمَّيْنِ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَيْهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ  

[Machine] "I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on some of his journeys, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would often go further than the rest of us."  

«كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا ذَهَبَ أَبْعَدَ الْمَذْهَبَ»  

[Machine] Al-Mughira ibn Shu'ba said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "I have mentioned so-and-so, should I divorce her so that I can see her?" He (the Prophet) said, "Yes, if you would trick her by placing dates on the palm trees so that she passes by you."  

الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِنِّي ذَكَرْتُ فُلَانَةً أَتُطْلِقُ لِي أَنْ أَرَاهَا؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ» فَإِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَحْتَالُهَا فِي أُصُولِ النَّخْلِ لِتَمُرَّ بِي  

[Machine] "Abu Bakr, I do not find anything for you in the Book of Allah, and I have not heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruling in your favor. I will ask the people tonight. When he finished performing the Dhuhr prayer, he approached the people and said, 'Indeed, the grandmother came to me, asking about her inheritance from her grandson or granddaughter. I have not found anything for her in the Book, and I have not heard the Prophet ﷺ ruling in her favor. Has anyone among you heard anything from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding this matter?' Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba stood up and said, 'I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruling in her favor with one-sixth.' Abu Bakr then asked, 'Does anyone have the same testimony?' Muhammad bin Muslima stood up and said, 'I witnessed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruling in her favor with one-sixth.' Abu Bakr gave her one-sixth. When Umar assumed the caliphate, the grandmother who had a dispute with him came to him. Umar said, 'The ruling was only in your favor when you were apart. But when you both agreed, one-sixth is between you, and whichever one of you gives up the claim, it belongs to her.'"  

أَبُو بَكْرٍ مَا أَجِدُ لَكِ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ شَيْئًا وَمَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْضِي لَكِ بِشَيْءٍ وَسَأَسْأَلُ النَّاسَ الْعَشِيَّةَ فَلَمَّا صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْجَدَّةَ أَتَتْنِي تَسْأَلُنِي مِيرَاثَهَا مِنِ ابْنِ ابْنِهَا أَوِ ابْنِ ابْنَتِهَا وَإِنِّي لَمْ أَجِدْ لَهَا فِي الْكِتَابِ شَيْئًا وَلَمْ أَسْمَعِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى لَهَا بِشَيْءٍ فَهَلْ سَمِعَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِيهَا شَيْئًا؟ فَقَامَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ فَقَالَ «شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْضِي لَهَا بِالسُّدُسِ» فَقَالَ هَلْ سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ مَعَكَ أَحَدٌ؟ فَقَامَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ فَقَالَ «شَهِدْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْضِي لَهَا بِالسُّدُسِ» فَأَعْطَاهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ السُّدُسَ فَلَمَّا كَانَتْ خِلَافَةُ عُمَرَ جَاءَتْهُ الْجَدَّةُ الَّتِي تُخَالِفُهَا فَقَالَ عُمَرُ ؓ إِنَّمَا كَانَ الْقَضَاءُ فِي غَيْرِكِ وَلَكِنْ إِذَا اجْتَمَعْتُمَا فَالسُّدُسُ بَيْنَكُمَا وَأَيَّتُكُمَا خَلَتْ بِهِ فَهُوَ لَهَا  

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi reported from Malik that Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi reported from Abdullah bin Abdul-Hakam who reported from Bakr bin Sahl who reported from Abdullah bin Yusuf who reported from Yusuf al-Qadi who reported from Amr bin Marzouq who said: "I am Malik, from Ibn Shihab, from Uthman bin Ishaq bin Kharsha who reported that Qubaysah bin Dhu'ayb said: 'My grandmother came to Abu Bakr As-Siddiq asking about her inheritance according to the Book of Allah. Abu Bakr said to her: 'You have nothing in the Book of Allah, and I do not know of anything for you in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so go back until I ask the people.' So he asked the people and Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave her one-sixth.' Abu Bakr said: 'Do you have anyone else?' Muhammad bin Muslimah Al-Ansari stood and said the same thing as Al-Mughirah. So Abu Bakr approved that for her. Then another grandmother came to Umar bin Al-Khattab asking about her inheritance. He said: 'You have nothing in the Book of Allah and the judgment that has been decreed is not for other than you. And I will not increase anything in the shares, but it is that one-sixth. So if you both agree, it is between you two, and whoever is absent, it belongs to her.' And the wording is according to the narration of Ibn Abdul-Hakam.  

ثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ القَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ قَالُوا أَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خَرَشَةَ عَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ ذُؤَيْبٍ قَالَ جَاءَتِ الْجَدَّةُ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ ؓ تَسْأَلُهُ مِيرَاثَهَا فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ فَقَالَ لَهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مَا لَكِ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ شَيْءٌ وَمَا عَلِمْتُ لَكِ فِي سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ شَيْئًا فَارْجِعِي حَتَّى أَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ فَسَأَلَ النَّاسَ فَقَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ «حَضَرَتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَعْطَاهَا السُّدُسَ» فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ هَلْ مَعَكَ غَيْرُكَ؟ فَقَامَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ فَقَالَ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ فَأَنْفَذَهُ لَهَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ ثُمّ جَاءَتِ الْجَدَّةُ الْأُخْرَى إِلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ تَسْأَلُهُ مِيرَاثَهَا فَقَالَ مَا لَكِ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ وَمَا كَانَ الْقَضَاءُ الَّذِي قُضِيَ بِهِ إِلَّا لِغَيْرِكِ وَمَا أَنَا بِزَائِدٍ فِي الْفَرَائِضِ شَيْئًا وَلَكِنْ هُوَ ذَلِكَ السُّدُسُ فَإِنِ اجْتَمَعْتُمَا فَهُوَ بَيْنَكُمَا وَأَيَّتُكُمَا خَلَتْ بِهِ فَهُوَ لَهَا وَاللَّفْظُ لِحَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ  

[Machine] "Mughira reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pronounced judgment in favor of the plaintiff. 'Umar said: "If you speak the truth, bring forth someone who can bear witness to that." Muhammad ibn Maslamah testified that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pronounce judgment in favor of the plaintiff."  

الْمُغِيرَةُ «قَضَى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِغُرَّةٍ» فَقَالَ عُمَرُ إِنْ كُنْتَ صَادِقًا فَائْتِ بِأَحَدٍ يَعْلَمُ ذَلِكَ فَشَهِدَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَضَى فِيهِ بِغُرَّةٍ  

[Machine] "Al-Mughira, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled in favor of a slave or a servant." So, Umar said, "Who will testify to your statement?" So, Muhammad ibn Muslimah testified for him.  

الْمُغِيرَةُ «قَضَى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِغُرَّةِ عَبْدٍ أَوْ أَمَةٍ» فَقَالَ عُمَرُ مَنْ يُصَدِّقُكَ؟ فَشَهِدَ لَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ  

[Machine] Al-Mughira bin Shu'bah reported, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled in his favor on a certain matter." Muhammad bin Muslima Al-Ansari testified for him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had ruled in his favor.  

الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ «قَضَى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِغُرَّةٍ» فَشَهِدَ لَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِهِ  

[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ wanted something, he would distance himself.  

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ حَاجَةً أَبْعَدَ»  

[Machine] "He was with two disbelievers from his people, so he killed them and took their belongings. Then he went to the Prophet ﷺ , but the Prophet ﷺ disliked what he had done and did not accept the belongings he had taken from them."  

«أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ كُفَّارٍ فَقَتَلَهُمَا وَسَلَبَهُمَا فَجَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَكَرِهَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الَّذِي صَنَعَ وَأَهْدَى لَهُ سَلَبَهُمَا فَلَمْ يَقْبَلْهُ»
