[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ in his house, and I followed him. He asked, "Where did you leave the people?" I said, "I left them in such and such a place." Then, he mounted his ride and went off, disappearing from my sight. He stayed away for as long as it takes a person to fulfill his needs, then he came back and asked, "Do you have any water?" I said, "Yes," and I poured water onto his hands. He washed his face and hands, wiped his head, and there was a Shammiyah cloak on him that was tight on his hands. He then put his hand underneath the cloak and lifted it from his hands. After that, he washed his hands, face, wiped over his head and his feet. Then, he asked me, "Do you need something?" I said, "No." He said, "Then, let us ride until we catch up with the people."  

كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ فَاتَّبَعْتُهُ فَقَالَ «أَيْنَ تَرَكْتَ النَّاسَ؟» فَقُلْتُ تَرَكْتُهُمْ بِمَكَانِ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَأَنَاخَ رَاحِلَتَهُ فَنَزَلَ ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ فَتَوَارَى عَنِّي فَاحْتَبَسَ بِقَدْرِ مَا يَقْضِي الرَّجُلُ حَاجَتَهُ ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَقَالَ «أَمَعَكَ مَاءٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَصَبَبْتُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ شَامِيَّةٌ قَدْ ضَاقَتْ يَدَاهَا فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِ الْجُبَّةِ فَرَفَعَهَا عَنْ يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ وَوَجْهَهُ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَخُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «أَلَكَ حَاجَةٌ؟» قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ فَرَكِبْنَا حَتَّى أَدْرَكْنَا النَّاسَ
