1. Purification (15/28)
[Machine] I saw the Prophet, ﷺ , remove his lower garment and then cleanse his private parts.
The Prophet ﷺ urinated; then he performed ablution and sprinkled water on the private parts of his body. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 168)
[Machine] That the angel Gabriel descended upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the first revelation that was revealed to him and taught him how to perform ablution. So the Prophet ﷺ performed ablution. When he finished, the Prophet ﷺ took water with his hand and poured it onto his private parts.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for water and performed ablution repeatedly; he sprinkled himself with water. Imam Ahmad said: "And he sprinkled himself" is narrated solely by Qabeessa from Sufyan, and it is narrated by a group from Sufyan without this addition.
[Machine] He has gone away from what he used to find from that.
1.169 [Machine] Performing prayers with one ablution
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that on the day of the conquest of Mecca, he performed the prayers with only one ablution and wiped over his socks. Umar ibn Al-Khattab said, "I saw you doing something that you did not use to do before." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "I deliberately did it, O Umar."
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ performed ablution and wiped over his socks, and he prayed five prayers with one ablution. Then, he mentioned the rest of the passage by its meaning.
1.170 [Machine] Renewal of Wudu (ablution)
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to perform ablution before every prayer, and one of us would be satisfied with one ablution until he broke it.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "Whoever performs ablution with purity, Allah will write for him ten good deeds." Abu Dawood said, "This hadith is sound and complete. And I, regarding the hadith of Ibn Yahya, am more precise." Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Ziyad Al-Afriqi said, "It is not strong."
1.171 [Machine] The collective of the types of actions that require washing
1.172 [Machine] The necessity of washing through the meeting of the two circumcisions
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "If a man sits in the middle of her four limbs (referring to his wife during intercourse) and the circumcision touches the circumcision, then ghusl (ritual bathing) becomes obligatory." This hadith is narrated by Muslim ibn Ibrahim. In another narration by Wahb ibn Jarir, it is mentioned that if a man sits in the middle of her four limbs and then experiences intense pleasure, then ghusl becomes obligatory. And in a hadith narrated by Abu Nuaim, it is mentioned that he (the man) exerted himself (during intercourse)
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: When a person sits between the four parts of their body and then exerts effort, then it becomes obligatory to perform ghusl. And in the narration of Matar, even if it does not rain.
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet, ﷺ , he said: "When a person sits between the four limbs and then exerts himself, he must perform the ritual washing, whether he ejaculates or not."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the circumcised parts meet, Ghusl (ritual bathing) becomes obligatory, whether ejaculation occurs or not."
[Machine] Abu Musa narrated that they were sitting, and they mentioned what necessitates washing. Abu Musa added to his statement and said, "Whoever from the Mujahideen is touched by their circumcision, it is obligatory to wash. And whoever from the Ansar is touched by their circumcision, it is not obligatory to wash until flowing occurs." Then they agreed on the meaning. Abu Musa said, "I will bring the information," so he went to Aisha and greeted her, then he said, "I want to ask you about something, and I feel shy to ask you." She said, "Do not feel shy to ask me about something you used to ask your mother, who gave birth to you. Indeed, I am like your mother." He said, "I asked her, what necessitates washing?" She said, "You have fallen upon the well-informed one." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When he sits between her thighs with the four fingers and touches her circumcision, it is obligatory to wash." This is the wording of the Hadith of as-Sulami.
I and she (the Mother of the Faithful) do it and then take a bath. (Using translation from Muslim 350)
[Machine] I did it, me and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so we all washed from it.
[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, if a man has sexual intercourse with a woman but does not ejaculate, he said: he should wash what has been touched by the woman, then he should perform ablution and offer prayer."
[Machine] I heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, then I asked Ali ibn Abi Talib, Zubayr ibn al-Awwam, Talha ibn Ubayd Allah, and Ubayy ibn Ka'b. They all said the same as the Prophet ﷺ in the narration of Al-Bistami, and Abu Qilaba said in his narration that there is nothing in it except for purification, and he did not mention Ubayy or the narration of Urwah from Abu Ayyub.
[Machine] He heard it from the Messenger of Allah, so I asked Ali ibn Abi Talib, Zubair ibn Al-Awam, and Talha ibn Ubaidullah about it, and they instructed him to do so.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by a man from the Ansar. He sent someone to him, and he came out with his head dripping with water. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Perhaps we have hastened you?" He replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you have hastened or broken your wudu, there is no need for ghusl (ritual bath), and wudu is sufficient for you."
[Machine] That men from the Ansar, among them were Abu Ayyub and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, used to judge regarding water from water, and that whoever had sexual intercourse with his wife but did not ejaculate, there is no obligation for him to perform ablution. When this was mentioned to Umar, Ibn Umar, and Aisha, they denied it and said that if the circumcision passed the circumcision, then the obligation of performing ablution arises. So Sahl bin Saad, who had met the Prophet ﷺ during his time when he was fifteen years old, said, Ubayy ibn Ka'b informed me that the fatwa that water from water is permissible is the most lenient fatwa that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had issued at the beginning of Islam, and then he commanded to perform ablution.
[Machine] The passage means: "The permissibility of performing fitya in water was only allowed at the beginning of Islam, then it was prohibited. Al-Zuhri did not hear this hadith directly from Sahl, he only heard it from some of his companions who heard it from Sahl."
The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) made a concession in the early days of Islam on account of the paucity of clothes that one should not take a bath if one has sexual intercourse (and has no seminal emission). But later on her commanded to take a bath in such a case and prohibited its omission. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 214)
[Machine] It was narrated that water was considered permissible at the beginning of Islam, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made it easy. Then he ordered us to perform ablution. And in the narration of Musa bin Harun, he ordered us to perform ablution afterwards.
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, after he abrogated it, and likewise Uthman ibn Affan and Ali ibn Abi Talib, and others.
[Machine] "Umar ibn Al-Khattab, Uthman ibn Affan, and Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, used to say, when circumcision is touched, washing becomes obligatory."
[Machine] Ali used to say that what makes something obligatory is what makes it necessary to perform a full ablution.
I asked Aisha, the mother of the believers, "What necessitates performing the ritual bath (ghusl)?" She replied, "Do you not know? Your likeness is like that of a young rooster, you hear the hen coo and you respond by crowing along with her. If the circumcision has surpassed the circumcision (i.e., sexual intercourse has taken place), then the ritual bath becomes obligatory."
[Machine] He used to say: "If the uncircumcised part differs, washing becomes mandatory."
[Machine] If circumcision exceeds the area of circumcision, then ghusl is required. 786. And this is narrated from Al-Sha'abi from Al-Harith Al-Awar from Ali, similar to it.
1.173 [Machine] The obligation of washing after ejaculation
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Water is from water.'"
I was a man who emitted a great deal of madhi, so I asked the Prophet ﷺ and he said: “If you see madhi then do wudoo’ and wash your private part, and if you see water gushing then do ghusl.ʿ I [the narrator] mentioned that to Sufyan and he said: I heard that from Rukain. Muʿawiyah and ibn Abi Bukair told us: Zaʿidah told us: ar-Rukain bin ar-Rabee bin ‘Ameelah al-Fazari told us... And he mentioned a similar report, and they said: water gushing. And Ibn Abu Bukair told us: Zaʿidah told us, and he also said, gushing. (Using translation from Aḥmad 1028)
[Machine] I was a man who enjoyed mischief, but when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw that water had splashed on me, he said, "Indeed, the proper way of performing ablution is with flowing water."
1.174 [Machine] The man falls in his sleep.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a person who sees semen in his dream but does not remember having a wet dream. He replied, "He should perform ghusl (ritual bath) even if he thinks he had a wet dream but did not see any semen."
1.175 [Machine] A woman sees in her dreams what a man sees.
[Machine] Um Salama, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, narrated that she said: "Umm Sulaim, the wife of Abu Talha Al-Ansari, came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, is it necessary for a woman to perform ghusl (ritual bath) if she has a wet dream?' He replied, 'Yes, if she sees water, it is obligatory for her to perform ghusl.'"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ placed his right hand on her, so what can her son resemble her with? Muslim narrated it from Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, saying that Hisham said this, and Al-Zuhri disagreed and said it was narrated from Urwah from Aisha.
[Machine] Narrated Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ : Umm Salamah, the wife of Abu Talhah, went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, Allah is not ashamed of the truth. What do you think about a woman who experiences what a man experiences in a dream? Does she need to perform ghusl (ritual bath)?" He replied, "Yes." Aisha exclaimed, "May your hands be rubbed with dust! Do you think that a woman experiences that?" The Prophet ﷺ turned to Umm Salamah and said, "May your hands be rubbed with dust! Where would the resemblance come from?"
Should a woman wash herself when she sees a sexual dream and sees (the marks) of liquid? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes. 'A'isha said to her: May your hand be covered with dust and injured. She narrated: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Leave her alone. In what way does the child resemble her but for the fact that when the genes contributed by woman prevail upon those of man, the child resembles the maternal family, and when the genes of man prevail upon those of woman the child resembles the paternal family. (Using translation from Muslim 314b)
A woman asked the Messenger of Allah (way peace be upon him) about a woman who sees in her dream what a man sees in his dream (sexual dream). He (the Holy Prophet) said: If she experiences what a man experiences, she should take a bath. (Using translation from Muslim 312)
The Prophet ﷺ was asked about a person who found moisture (on his body or clothes) but did not remember the sexual dream. He replied: He should take a bath. He was asked about a person who remembered that he had a sexual dream but did not find moisture. He replied: Bath is not necessary for him. Umm Salamah then asked: Is washing necessary for a woman if she sees that (in her dream)? He replied: Yes. Woman are counterpart of men. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 236)

In case a woman sees that, she must take a bath. Umm Sulaim said: I was bashful on account of that and said: Does it happen? Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Yes (it does happen), otherwise how can (a child) resemble her? Man's discharge (i. e. sperm) is thick and white and the discharge of woman is thin and yellow; so the resemblance comes from the one whose genes prevail or dominate. (Using translation from Muslim 311)

While I was standing beside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one of the rabbis of the Jews came and said: Peace be upon you, O Muhammad. I pushed him backwith a push that he was going to fall. Upon this he said: Why do you push me? I said: Why don't you say: O Messenger of Allah? The Jew said: We call him by the name by which he was named by his family. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: My name is Muhammad with which I was named by my family. The Jew said: I have come to ask you (something). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Should that thing be of any benefit to you, if I tell you that? He (the Jew) said: I will lend my ears to it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew a line with the help of the stick that he had with him and then said: Ask (whatever you like). Thereupon the Jew said: Where would the human beings be on the Daywhen the earth would change into another earth and the heavens too (would change into other heavens)? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: They would be in darkness beside the Bridge. He (the Jew) again said: Who amongst people would be the first to cross (this bridge).? He said: They would be the poor amongst the refugees. The Jew said: What would constitute their breakfast when they would enter Paradise? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: A caul of the fish-liver. He (the Jew) said. What would be their food alter this? He (the Holy Prophet) said: A bullockwhich was fed in the different quarters of Paradise would be slaughtered for them. He (the Jew) said: What would be their drink? He (the Holy Prophet) said: They would be given drink from the fountain which is named" Salsabil". He (the Jew) said: I have come to ask you about a thing which no one amongst the people on the earth knows except an apostle or one or two men besides him. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Would it benefit you if I tell you that? He (the Jew) said: I would lend ears to that. He then said: I have come to ask you about the child. He (the Holy Prophet) said: The reproductive substance of man is white and that of woman (i. e. ovum central portion) yellow, and when they have sexual intercourse and the male's substance (chromosomes and genes) prevails upon the female's substance (chromosomes and genes), it is the male child that is created by Allah's Decree, and when the substance of the female prevails upon the substance contributed by the male, a female child is formed by the Decree of Allah. The Jew said: What you have said is true; verily you are an Apostle. He then returned and went away. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He asked me about such and such things of which I have had no knowledge till Allah gave me that. (Using translation from Muslim 315a)

The companions of the Prophet ﷺ loved to redeem captives, and they would say, "What shall we do with the killing of this man?" Then one day, the Prophet ﷺ passed by him and he embraced Islam, so the Prophet ﷺ set him free and sent him to the garden of Abu Talhah and ordered him to take a bath.
