[Machine] We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the expedition of Thaat ar-Riqa' from a date grove. A Muslim man accidentally struck the wife of a man from the polytheists. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his army's preparations and left, he went to her husband who was absent. When he heard the news, he swore not to stop until he shed the blood of the companions of Muhammad. He went out to follow the trace of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , who stopped in a place and said, "Who will protect us tonight?" One man from the Muhajireen and another from the Ansar responded, saying, "We will, O Messenger of Allah." He instructed them to stay near the mouth of the valley. When they reached the mouth of the valley, the Ansari asked the Muhajir, "Which part of the night do you prefer for me to protect you, the beginning or the end?" The Muhajir replied, "No, you should protect me first." So the Muhajir laid down to sleep, while the Ansari began praying. The husband of the woman came, and when he saw the man, he recognized him as the leader of his people, so he shot an arrow at him, which hit him. He pulled it out and put it back, remaining standing to continue his prayer. Then the man shot another arrow at him, which hit him. He pulled it out and put it back, remaining standing to continue his prayer. Then the man shot a third arrow at him, which hit him. He pulled it out and put it back, and then he bowed and prostrated. His companion said to him, "Sit down, you have been affirmed." He leaped up, and when the man saw him, he realized that they had made a solemn vow concerning him, so he fled. When the Muhajir saw the Ansari covered in blood, he said, "Glory be to Allah! Why didn't you wake me up when he shot at you the first time?" The Ansari replied, "I was reciting a surah that I did not want to cut off until I completed it. When he shot at me the second time, I bowed. I was following the orders of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to be cautious, otherwise I would have killed myself before he killed me or completed his task."
[Machine] Narrated by Jabir, he mentioned it briefly and towards the end of it, when Al-Muhajir saw the blood on Al-Ansari, he said, "Glory be to Allah! Did not you warn me from the very beginning when I threw you the first arrow?" He said, "I was reciting a surah and I did not want to interrupt it."
[Machine] He used to wash his face when he woke up. Al-Shafi'i narrated this from an unnamed man from Layth from Tawus from Ibn Abbas who said, "Wash the traces of sleep from your faces." It was also narrated from Anas bin Malik from the Prophet, except that there is weakness in its chain.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the prayer without ablution and did not exceed washing his private parts.
[Machine] And according to Qasim ibn Muhammad, the one who shaves his head does not need to perform ablution.
[Machine] He said, "Wudu (ablution) is not from nosebleeds, vomiting, touching the penis, or what the fire touches with obligation." So it was said to him, "Indeed, some people say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Perform ablution from what the fire touches.'" He said, "Indeed, a group heard but did not comprehend. We used to call washing the hands and mouth ablution, but it is not obligatory. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only commanded the believers to wash their hands and mouths from what the fire touches, and it is not obligatory. Mu'tarrif bin Mazen spoke about it, and Allah knows best."
[Machine] "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said: 'If any one of you yawns in his prayer or feels drowsy or belches, then he should perform ablution (wudu) and repeat what remains of his prayer, as long as he did not speak.' Abu Ahmad said: 'This is the hadith.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If one of you passes wind or emits urine or finds traces of semen while in prayer, let him withdraw, perform ablution, and return to his prayer without speaking." Abu Hassan narrated that Abu Bakr said, "I heard Muhammad ibn Yahya say that this is the correct narration from Ibn Juraij, who is a reliable narrator. However, the narration of Ibn Juraij from Ibn Abi Mulaykah from Aisha, which Isma'il ibn 'Ayyash narrates, is not valid." Imam Al-Shafi'i said about the narration of Ibn Juraij from his father, "This narration is not confirmed from the Prophet ﷺ , and he supports it with what has been narrated from Ibn 'Umar and others regarding washing some parts of the body." The Sheikh said that it is
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ vomited and broke his fast. I met Thawban in the mosque of Damascus and mentioned this incident to him. he said, "I poured water for him to perform ablution and the chain of narration for this hadith is disputed and they have strongly disagreed about it, and Allah knows best. It is mentioned along with other narrations in this chapter on the topic of disagreements."
