[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate the shoulder of a sheep, then he prayed without performing ablution.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate meat or a shoulder, then he prayed without rinsing his mouth or touching water.
[Machine] I was with Ibn Abbas in the house of Maymuna, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, in the mosque. He began to admire those who claim that ablution can be performed with something that has been touched by fire, and he cited examples, saying, "We bathe with hot water, perform ablution with it, and apply cooked fat on our bodies. He mentioned things that afflict people due to contact with fire. Then he said, 'I saw myself in this house with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He performed ablution and then put on his clothes. The call to prayer came and he went out to pray. When he was in the chamber, outside the house, he received a gift of a piece of a sheep, from which he ate a morsel or two, then he prayed, without touching any water.'"
that he saw the Prophet ﷺ holding a shoulder piece of mutton in his hand and cutting part of it with a knife. Then he was called for the prayer whereupon he put down the shoulder piece and the knife with which he was cutting it, and then stood for prayer without performing ablution again. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5408)
[Machine] I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taking a piece of lamb from the shoulder and eating from it. Then he was called to prayer, so he got up, put down the knife, and prayed without performing ablution. Ibn Shihab said, "Ali ibn Abdullah ibn Abbas narrated to me from his father, who narrated from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about that incident. Omar narrated to me from Bukayr ibn al-Ashajj, who narrated from Kurayb, the freed slave of Ibn Abbas, who narrated from Maymunah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate some shoulder meat at her house, then prayed without performing ablution. Amr also narrated to me from Jafar ibn Rabeeah, who narrated from Ya'qub ibn al-Ashajj, who narrated from Kurayb, who narrated from Ibn Abbas, who narrated from Maymunah, that the Prophet ﷺ did the same. Amr also narrated to me from Sa'id ibn Abu Hilal, who narrated from Abdullah ibn Ubaydullah ibn Abu Rafi, who narrated from Abu Ghatfan, who narrated from Abu Rafi, who said, "I bear witness that I used to roast lamb for the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ stomach, then he would pray without performing ablution."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pass by a pot and take some of its sweat to eat from it, then he would go to prayer without performing ablution or rinsing his mouth.
[Machine] He was informed that Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , told him that she brought him a grilled side (of meat) and he ate it, then he got up to pray without performing ablution and (he did) this.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ ate meat and prayed without performing ablution. It is narrated about Uthman ibn Affan, Abdullah ibn Masud, Suwaid ibn Nu'man, Muhammad ibn Muslima, Abu Huraira, Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As, Mugheerah ibn Shu'bah, Abdullah ibn al-Harith ibn Jaz', Rafa'ah ibn Khadij, and others from the Prophet ﷺ who said: Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn As-Sabbaah Az-Za'farani said: Abu Abdullah Ash-Shafi'i was narrated that ablution is only required for what touches fire. And what he meant is...
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Wudu' is from what the Fire has touched." Ibn Shihab said: 'Abdur-Rahman bin Ibrahim bin Qarizh informed me that 'Abdullah bin Hurairah found him performing Wudu' on the mosque, so he said: "I am performing Wudu' because I ate something from the flesh of an animal that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Perform Wudu' from what the Fire has touched." Ibn Shihab said: Sa'id bin Khalid bin 'Amr bin 'Uthman informed me while I was narrating this Hadith that Safwan bin 'Amr bin Basel asked 'Urwah bin Az-Zubair about Wudu' from what the Fire has touched. 'Urwah said: "I heard 'Aishah saying: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Perform Wudu' from what the Fire has touched.'"
The last practice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was that he did not perform ablution after taking anything that was cooked with the help of fire. Abu Dawud said: This is the abridgment of the former tradition. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 192)
[Machine] And he said, the last two things commanded by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were that he ate bread and meat, then he prayed without performing ablution.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , performed a prayer without performing ablution (wudu) after being affected by fire. This was among his last actions. Yunus narrated from Abu Khalidah, who narrated from Muhammad ibn Muslimah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , ate.
[Machine] He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performing ablution with the water from a camel's saddle, then he saw him eating from the shoulder of a sheep, then he prayed without performing ablution. This was narrated by Abd al-Aziz ibn Muslim from Suhayl, who said in the hadith: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ate meat from a camel, then performed ablution and ate from the shoulder without performing ablution. It was narrated to us by Abu Abdullah al-Hafiz, narrated to us by Abu al-Abbas, narrated to us by al-Saghani, narrated to us by Abu al-Nu'man, narrated to us by Abd al-Aziz ibn Muslim, and he mentioned it. Some of the scholars followed the second opinion and claimed that the hadith of Abu Hurairah is false and that his fatwa about it, after the Prophet's ﷺ death, is about performing ablution with it, and that the narration of Shuayb ibn Abi Hamzah from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir is a shortened version of the hadith that was narrated to us by Abu Zakariya ibn Abi Ishaq and Abu Bakr ibn al-Hasan said: Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub informed us that I am Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Abd al-Hakam who narrated to us Ibn Wahb said: And Bahru ibn Nasr told me: Usamah ibn Zaid and Ibn Jurayj narrated to me from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir from Jabir ibn Abdullah that the Messenger of Allahﷺ went to a woman of the Ansar, and his companions were with him, so a roasted sheep was brought to him, and he said: So he ate and we ate, then the time for Dhuhr prayer came, so he performed ablution and then prayed, then he returned to the remainder of his food, and he ate, then the time for Asr prayer came, so he prayed without performing ablution. Like this...
[Machine] Salama ibn Salama ibn Waqsh reported that Anas ibn Malik, who was one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , said: "Salama and I attended a meal when we were in a state of ritual purity (wudu). We ate and then left. Salama then performed ablution (wudu), and Jubayrah asked him, 'Were you not already in a state of ritual purity?' Salama replied, 'Yes, but I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and we left a gathering that we were invited to while he was in a state of ritual purity. He ate and then performed ablution.' I asked him, 'Were you not already in a state of ritual purity, O Messenger of Allah?' He replied, 'Yes, but sometimes circumstances change, and this is one of those situations.' This is also what Al-Zuhri narrated and he was reliable in his narrations."
[Machine] He informed him that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taking a sheep by its shoulder in his hand, then he was called to prayer, so he left it and the knife he was holding, then he stood up and prayed without performing ablution. Al-Zuhri said: "That spread among the people, then men from the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and women from his wives informed us that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Perform ablution from what has touched fire.' Abu Ali al-Rudhbari said: 'I am Abu al-Nadr al-Faqih.' Abu Sa'id, meaning Uthman bin Sa'id al-Darimi, said: 'These hadiths have been differed upon, and they have been differed upon in terms of their abrogating and abrogated parts. So we have not found the abrogator and the abrogated in them with a clear explanation that we can judge by, other than what the righteous caliphs and the eminent companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ agreed upon. They took their consensus as a license in this matter based on the hadith that narrates the permission from the Prophet ﷺ ."
[Machine] He heard Jabir ibn Abdullah saying, "I saw Abu Bakr As-Siddiq eating meat, then he prayed without performing ablution."
[Machine] Abu Bakr and Umar Ibn Al-Khattab ate bread and meat, then they prayed without performing ablution.
[Machine] That Uthman bin Affan ate bread and meat, then rinsed his mouth, washed his hands, wiped his face with them, then prayed without performing ablution.
[Machine] Indeed, ablution is from what has exited, not from what has entered.
[Machine] Ibn Abbas: I do not care about what you have performed ablution for, by Allah, I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ eat bread and meat, then he stood up for prayer without performing ablution.
[Machine] Ibn Abbas said, "No ablution is needed from what is touched by fire. Fire is only a blessing and it does not make anything permissible or forbidden."
[Machine] Anas said, "I wish I hadn't done that." Then, Abu Talhah and Ubayy ibn Ka'b got up and prayed without performing ablution.
[Machine] About the man who performs ablution for prayer and then touches food that has been touched by fire, does he need to perform ablution again? Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Rabiah said, "I saw my father do that and then he did not perform ablution again."
[Machine] About Alqamah and Al-Aswad, they ate bread and meat with Ibn Mas'ud, and they did not perform ablution.
