1. Purification
A hadith having the same meaning has been transmitted on the authority of 'Abdullah b. 'Umar. (Using translation from Muslim 1829e)
[Machine] "It does not become impure or criticized. I don't know, Abu Qudamah told me that Abu 'Ubayd and Abu al-Walid, the jurist, narrated that al-Zuhrfani said that al-Shafi'i addressed his opponents, saying, 'You narrated from Simak ibn Harb, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, from the Prophet ﷺ that he said, 'Nothing makes water impure.' Do you really think that Ibn 'Abbas would narrate a hadith from the Prophet ﷺ and then leave it? If this narration is truly his, then it indicates that he did not refute the impurity of Zamzam water, but rather its need for purification, if he indeed used it for performing ablution. And if Zamzam is for drinking purposes, it is possible that the blood may have appeared on the water until it could be seen in it."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution with water, so it was said to him, "So-and-so woman now took a bath with it." He said, "Verily, nothing makes the water impure."
One of the wives of the Prophet ﷺ took a bath from a large bowl. The Prophet ﷺ wanted to perform ablution or take from the water left over. She said to him: O Prophet of Allah, verily I was sexually defiled. The Prophet said: Water not defiled. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 68)

[Machine] From 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him: as for the effect that
[Machine] If a mouse falls into a well and dies in it, a bucket or two buckets are taken out of it. If it decomposes, then five or seven are taken out of it, and this is also uncertain. The Hafiz Abu Abdullah narrated to us, and Abu al-Abbas informed us that Rabee narrated to us, and Al-Shafi'i mentioned in his argument that Ali and Ibn Abbas argued that contradicted what was reported from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding the saying of someone else. I said, "So you oppose what came from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to the words of others?" He said, "No." I said, "You have indeed done so and opposed Ali and Ibn Abbas, claiming that Ali said: 'If a mouse falls into a well, five or seven bailouts are taken out of it,' and claimed that it does not become pure except with twenty or thirty, and claimed that Ibn Abbas took out water from Zamzam from a jug that a black person fell into it, and you say that forty or sixty buckets are enough, and this is from Ali and Ibn Abbas, which is not proven."
