I don't know, Abu Qudamah told me that Abu 'Ubayd and Abu al-Walid, the jurist, narrated that al-Zuhrfani said that al-Shafi'i addressed his opponents, saying, 'You narrated from Simak ibn Harb, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, from the Prophet ﷺ that he said, 'Nothing makes water impure.' Do you really think that Ibn 'Abbas would narrate a hadith from the Prophet ﷺ and then leave it? If this narration is truly his, then it indicates that he did not refute the impurity of Zamzam water, but rather its need for purification, if he indeed used it for performing ablution. And if Zamzam is for drinking purposes, it is possible that the blood may have appeared on the water until it could be seen in it."
أَنَّهَا لَا تُنْزَحُ وَلَا تُذَمُّ لَا أَدْرِي أَبُو قُدَامَةَ حَكَاهُ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ وَأَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الْفَقِيهُ قَالَ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ لِمُخَالِفِيهِ قَدْ رَوَيْتُمْ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْمَاءُ لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ أَفَتَرَى أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَرْوِي عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ خَبَرًا وَيَتْرُكُهُ إِنْ كَانَتْ هَذِهِ رِوَايَتُهُ وَتَرْوُونَ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ تَوَضَّأَ مِنْ غَدِيرٍ يُدَافِعُ جِيفَةً وَتَرْوُونَ عَنْهُ الْمَاءُ لَا يَنْجُسُ فَإِنْ كَانَ شَيْءٌ مِنْ هَذَا صَحِيحًا فَهُوَ يَدُلُّ عَلَى أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَنْزَحْ زَمْزَمَ لِلنَّجَاسَةِ وَلَكِنْ لِلتَّنْظِيفِ إِنْ كَانَ فَعَلَ وَزَمْزَمُ لِلشُّرْبِ وَقَدْ يَكُونُ الدَّمُ ظَهَرَ عَلَى الْمَاءِ حَتَّى رُئِيَ فِيهِ
