1. Purification
"When AlIah's Messenger wanted to perform Ghusl for Janabah, he would begin by washing his hands before putting them into the vessel. Then he would wash his private area, and perform the Wudu (as one does) for Salat. Then he would wet his hair with the water, then he would pour water over his head with his hands three times." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 104)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pour water over his head three times when he performed the ritual purification after sexual impurity. A man said, "I have a lot of hair." Jabir replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had more hair and it was more beautiful than yours."
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pour water over his head three times while in a state of janabah.
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a bath because of sexual intercourse, he poured three handfuls of water upon his head. Hasan b. Muhammad said to him (the narrator): My hair is thick. Upon this Jabir observed. I said to him: O son of my brother, the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was thicker than your hair and these were more fine (than yours). (Using translation from Muslim 329)
The people contended amongst themselves in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with regard to bathing. Some of them said: We wash our heads like this and this. Upon this the Messenger ﷺ said: As for me I pour three handfuls of water upon my head. (Using translation from Muslim 327a)
[Machine] It was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about performing ghusl from janabah (major impurity). So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "As for me, I pour water on my head three times like this." Zuhair described it by saying, "He cupped the palms of his hands and poured water from what is higher than the sky onto them, and poured it from what is lower than the earth onto his back."
