1. Purification
"It was said, 'O Messenger of Allah! Shall we use the water of Buda'ah well to perform ablution while it is a well in which menstruation rags, flesh of dogs and the putrid are dumped?" Messenger of Allah said: 'Indeed water is pure, nothing makes it impure.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 66)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ being called that you are being given water from the well of Buda'ah, in which the meat of dogs, hyenas, and people's excuses are thrown. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, water is pure. Nothing makes it impure." This was narrated by Muhammad bin Salamah from Ibn Ishaq. It was also said that it was narrated by Muhammad bin Salamah in this chain of narration from Abdul Rahman bin Rafi Al-Ansari. Yahya bin Wadhih also narrated from Ibn Ishaq from Saleet from Ubaidullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Rafi as Muhammad bin Ka'b said. Ibrahim bin Saad, Ahmad bin Khalid Al-Wahbi, and Yunus bin Bukair also narrated from Ibn Ishaq from Saleet from Abdul Rahman bin Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri from his father.
[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was performing ablution from a container. So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, do you perform ablution from it when it has been touched by impurities?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Verily, nothing makes water impure, and likewise."
[Machine] He said: It was said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Indeed, you perform ablution from the well of Budaa'ah, and it contains that which is thrown into it by people, as well as the meat of dogs and menstruating women." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, nothing makes the water impure, and this statement has been narrated from another angle from Abu Sa'eed in a raised manner."
[Machine] "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and we came to a place called Ghadir, which had a pool. Some of the people performed ablution and some of them refrained from it until the Prophet ﷺ arrived. When the Prophet ﷺ arrived, he was among the last of the people. He said, 'Perform ablution and drink, for nothing makes the water impure.'"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed, nothing makes water impure." He said: "So we drank and watered (the animals)." Abu Ja'far Ad-Dulani said, "It is a joke from Abu Sufyan." The Shaykh said, "And he is not strong, except that I mentioned him as a witness to what has happened before." It has been said about Sharik (another narrator) in this chain of narration from Jabir, and it has been said about him from Jabir or Abu Sa'id in doubt, and Abu Sa'id seems to be more correct. And it has been narrated about Abu Sa'id another story with a similar meaning if the narrator has memorized it.
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the impurity between Makkah and Madinah, and they said that it is the droppings of wolves, dogs, and donkeys. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whatever is in its stomach is for it, and whatever is remaining is pure for us, like this."
[Machine] If I were to provide you with merchandise, you would dislike that, even though I have indeed poured water for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with my own hand from it, and this is a good and connected chain of narrators.
[Machine] "O commander of the faithful, it is reported that Umar approached the pool of Mijannah, and it was said to him, 'Indeed, a dog has urinated in it.' Umar responded, 'Indeed, the dog has urinated with its tongue, so it drank from it and performed ablution.' It has been narrated from Ayub, from Ikrimah, in this story. He said, 'What has gone has gone concerning what the dogs have urinated in their stomachs.' This is a well-known story about Umar, even though it is not considered authentic. We have also narrated its meaning from Yahya ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Hattib, from Umar."
[Machine] We used to travel with Maymuna and pass by Al-Ghadir. There was a well and a small pond, from which she would drink or perform ablution. Sufyan said, "This is not doubtful, rather she intended to drink if she wanted to, or perform ablution if she wanted to."
[Machine] Water has been sent down pure, and nothing makes it impure.
[Machine] Water is pure as long as it has not been contaminated by the taste or smell of a dead animal.
