[Machine] "He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performing ablution, and he took water for his ears separately from the water he took for his head. This is a valid chain of narration, and it is also narrated from Abdul Aziz ibn Imran ibn Miqlass and Harmalah ibn Yahya, from Ibn Wahb, Hadith 309. Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj also narrated it in Sahih from Harun ibn Ma'roof and Harun ibn Saeed al-Aili and Abu Tahir, from Ibn Wahb with a valid chain of narration. He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performing ablution and mentioned his ablution. He said, 'He wiped his head with water other than the leftover water in his hands, but he did not mention the ears.' Abu Ali al-Rudhbary informed us, Abu Bakr ibn Dasa narrated to me, Abu Dawood narrated to me, and Ahmad ibn Amr ibn al-Sarh, meaning Abu Tahir, narrated to me from Ibn Wahb, from Amr ibn al-Harith, and he mentioned it. This narration is more authentic than the one before it."
[Machine] That Abdullah ibn Umar used to dip his fingers in water and then wipe his ears with them.
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ who said, "Indeed, the ears are part of the head." This was narrated with weak chains of transmission, and we have mentioned them in the discussions.
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution, then he washed his face three times, and his hands three times, and wiped his head. He said, "The ears are from the head." It is narrated in this Hadith that there is disagreement among the narrators regarding whether it is from both sides of the face. One view is weaker because of some of the narrators, and the other view is that doubt is cast on its authenticity. Abu Abdullah Al-Hafith informed us, that Abu Al-Abbas Muhammad bin Ya'qub informed us, that Abbas Ad-Duri said, "I heard Yahya bin Ma'in saying, 'Sinan bin Rabee'ah reported from Hammad bin Zaid, and he is not strong.'" Abu Abdullah Ar-Rahman As-Salami informed us, that Abu Saeed Al-Khallal informed us, that Abu Al-Qasim Al-Baghawi informed us, that Mahmoud bin Ghaylan informed us, that Al-Nadr bin Shumayl informed us, that Ibn Awn was mentioned to him, and he said, "The people criticized him." Then the tongues of the people started slandering him. And with this chain of narrators, Mahmoud bin Ghaylan informed us, that Shu'bah said, "Shahr bin Hawshab accompanied a man from the people of Sham, and he stole his clothing." Abu Abdullah Al-Hafith informed us, that I am Abu Al-Abbas Muhammad bin Ya'qub, Shahr bin Hawshab sold his religion for clothing. So who will trust the reciters after you, O Shahr?" Abu Bakr Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Faqih informed us, that Ali bin Umar Al-Hafith informed us, that Da'lj bin Ahmad said, "I asked Musa bin Harun about this Hadith, and he said, 'There is nothing in it from Shahr bin Hawshab, and the Hadith regarding its authenticity is doubtful.'" Al-Bayhaqi said, "And there is doubt regarding the authenticity of the Hadith."

[Machine] He described the Prophet's ﷺ ablution, saying that when he performed ablution, he would wipe his ears with water. Abu Umamah said, "The ears are part of the head." Sulaiman ibn Harb said, "The ears are part of the head. This statement is from Abu Umamah. Whoever says otherwise has changed or altered a word that Sulaiman said, in other words, made a mistake."
[Machine] Abu Umamah narrated that the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was mentioned, and it was said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would wipe the backs of his hands." He also said, "He would wipe his ears from the sides of his head." Sulaiman bin Harb said, "Abu Umamah used to narrate this." Qutaybah said, "Hammad said, 'I do not know if this is from the statement of the Prophet ﷺ or from Abu Umamah,' meaning the narration of the two ears." Qutaybah also said, "Sinan bin Rabeeah mentioned this in my book of Mawaqeen, which is in the narration of Abu Sulaiman Al-Khattabi, from Ibn Dasa Al-Mawaqeen." Abu Sulaiman explained it as the edge of the eye that is next to the nose and it is the exit of tears. And what was narrated from his wiping of his head and ears in some of the previous narrations, the general description of how it is done is present in it.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution and then took some water and wiped his head with it. He said, "I wiped the insides of my ears with the middle fingers of my hands and the thumbs from behind my ears." Our companions said, "It is as if he were isolating two fingers from each hand and when he finished wiping his head, he wiped his ears with them." It has been narrated in this hadith that he wiped the insides of his ears with his index fingers and contrary to that, he wiped the inner and outer parts of his ears with his thumbs. Abu Abdullah al-Haafiz informed us, Abu al-Walid al-Faqih narrated from Al-Hassan ibn Sufyan, who narrated from Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, who narrated from Ibn Ajlan and he mentioned it in his chain.
