bayhaqi:713Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ And ʾAbū Saʿīd b. Abū ʿAmr > Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb > Aḥmad b. ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd al-Ḥārithī > Abū Usāmah > al-Walīd b. Kathīr > Muḥammad b. ʿAmr b. ʿAṭāʾ

[Machine] I was with Ibn Abbas in the house of Maymuna, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, in the mosque. He began to admire those who claim that ablution can be performed with something that has been touched by fire, and he cited examples, saying, "We bathe with hot water, perform ablution with it, and apply cooked fat on our bodies. He mentioned things that afflict people due to contact with fire. Then he said, 'I saw myself in this house with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He performed ablution and then put on his clothes. The call to prayer came and he went out to pray. When he was in the chamber, outside the house, he received a gift of a piece of a sheep, from which he ate a morsel or two, then he prayed, without touching any water.'"
