1. Purification (23/28)
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the price of the dog, the dowry of the prostitute, and the fee of the soothsayer.
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "The angels do not enter a house in which there is a dog or a picture."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit the homes of the Ansar (the Helpers of Madinah) and there was a home that he did not visit, which made them feel sad. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, you visit the home of so-and-so but you do not visit our home?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "There is a dog in your home." They said, "But there is also a dog in their home." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "Their dog is a guard dog." Abu Saad al-Malini narrated that Abu Ahmad ibn Adi said that Hafiz Isa ibn Musa ibn Abi Bakr al-Faqih said that Ali ibn Umar al-Hafiz Isa ibn Musa ibn Abi Bakr said: [and the narration ends here].
1.271 [Machine] The news that has been mentioned in what its meat is eaten.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If his flesh has been eaten, there is no harm in using his urine." Abdullah bin Raja bin Mua'ab bin Sawwar changed his name, and he is actually Sawwar bin Mus'ab. Sawwar bin Mus'ab is considered unreliable. Abu Bakr bin Al-Harith Al-Faqih reported to us about it from Abu Al-Hasan Ad-Daraqutni, the Hafiz. The sheikh and with the weakness of Sawwar bin Mus'ab, there is a difference of opinion about his text. Abdullah bin Raja reported it from him in this way, and Yahya bin Abi Bukair reported it from him with his chain of narration, "There is no harm in the urine of what his flesh has been eaten." Amr bin Al-Husayn reported it from Yahya bin Al-Ala Al-Mutarrif, from Mu'arib bin Dithar, from Jabir bin Abdullah, as a Marfu' narration regarding urine. Amr bin Al-Husayn and Yahya bin Al-Ala are weak, and nothing from that is considered valid.
1.272 [Machine] The heading translates to: "What soul does not have a request when it dies in shallow water?
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If a fly falls into the drink of one of you, then immerse it completely and then remove it, for in one of its wings there is a disease and in the other wing there is a cure."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When a fly falls into the vessel of any one of you, let him dip it (in the vessel) completely and then remove it, for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure." And 'Amr bin 'Ali narrated it to Ibn 'Ajlan, on the authority of Al-Qa'qa' bin Hakim from Abu Salih, on the authority of Abu Hurairah in a similar manner.
“On one of the wings of a fly there is a poison and on the other is the cure. If it falls into the food, then dip it into it, for it puts the poison first and holds back the cure.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3504)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to Salman, "If an animal falls into any food or drink and it does not have blood, then it is permissible to eat and drink it, and perform ablution with it." Abu Saad informed us, "I am Abu Ahmad ibn Adi, the Hafiz, and Ibn Abi Dawud narrated to me from Yahya ibn Othman, who narrated from Baqiyyah in a similar way." Abu Ahmad said, "The ahadith narrated by Sa'id al-Zubaidi are mostly not preserved." Abu Bakr ibn al-Harith al-Faqih informed us, and Ali ibn Umar al-Hafiz said, "No one narrated it except a trustworthy person from Sa'id al-Zubaidi, who is weak."
[Machine] He used to say that every soul is accountable for itself, and it is not necessary to perform ablution from it. However, permission was granted for scorpions, fleas, locusts, and woodlice when they fall into containers of water, so there is no harm in using it. Shu'bah said, "I think he mentioned lizards as well." The Sheikh said, "And it was narrated to us that it also includes the wazaghah (a type of lizard) according to Al-Hasan al-Basri, Ata' and 'Ikrimah."
1.273 [Machine] The whale dies in the water and the locust.
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was asked about the water of the sea, to which he replied: "Its water is purifying and its dead creatures are permissible."
[Machine] He said, "We are allowed to consume two dead animals and two bloods: locusts, fish, liver, and spleen." This is a authentic hadith, and it is in the meaning of the mutawatir hadith, and it was narrated by the children of Zaid from their father.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that two things are permissible for us: dead meat and blood. As for the dead meat, it refers to locusts and fish, while the blood refers to spleen and liver. All of these are from the weak animals, which Yahya bin Ma'een had declared as such. However, Ahmad bin Hanbal and Ali bin Al-Madini considered Abdullah bin Zaid as reliable, except that the authentic narration from this hadith is the first one.
1.274 [Machine] The purification of human sweat from any source.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to enter the house of Umm Sulaim and sleep on her bed while she was not there. One day, he came and someone informed her that the Prophet ﷺ was on her bed. She hurried to him and found him sweating heavily due to the intense heat. She took a bottle and started collecting his sweat in it. The Prophet ﷺ woke up and asked her what she was doing. She replied, "I am collecting your sweat, O Messenger of Allah, to use it as a perfume." The Prophet ﷺ said, "You have done right."
[Machine] That Abdullah bin Umar used to perform ablution in extreme heat, and he would pass his hands over his armpits without invalidating his ablution.
1.275 [Machine] Human Saliva and Mucus
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spat on his garment while he was in prayer, meaning he recited the Hadith of Al-Firiyabi and in the Hadith of Qabisa it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spat on his garment.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ saw some spittle on the Qibla of the mosque, so he wiped it with his hand. It caused him distress and he said, "When a person prays, they are conversing privately with their Lord between themselves and the Qibla. So if any one of you spits, let them spit to their left or under their feet, or do this," and he showed them, "and then wipe it off their clothes or rub it against each other." Yazid said, "Humaid saw us doing this."
[Machine] We were traveling with the Prophet ﷺ , and he mentioned a hadith about the auction of two idols. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for a vessel and poured into it the contents of the two idols' mouths or the two idols themselves. He then rinsed it with water and returned it to the mouths of the two idols or the two idols themselves. Then he struck them and proclaimed to the people, "Drink and quench your thirst. This hadith is narrated in the Sahihain from the narration of Awf."
[Machine] He used to instruct his family to perform ablution, preferring the use of siwak.
1.276 [Machine] Purification of Animal Sweat and Saliva
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , went out in the funeral procession of Abu Duhdah. When he returned, a saddled horse was brought to him. He rode it and we walked with him.
[Machine] And I used to be under the camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, his saliva would touch me and I would hear him saying the talbiyah for Hajj.
[Machine] I was holding the reins of the camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while it was stumbling with its hooves, and its saliva was dripping on my shoulder, and he mentioned the narration.
1.277 [Machine] Translation: "Classification of water sources as impure or pure
1.278 [Machine] The little amount of water is contaminated with impurity that occurs in it.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "If one of you is sleeping and then wakes up and wants to perform ablution, do not put his hand in the vessel until he pours water on his hand, for he does not know where his hand has spent the night."
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If a dog drinks from one of your containers, then wash it seven times, the first of which is with soil." This hadith is narrated in Sahihayn from the narration of Malik, as mentioned before. Ibn Uyaynah said that Abu Al-Zinad reported and he meant the place where it drank.
When a dog licks a utensil belonging to any one of you, (the thing contained in it) should be thrown away and then (the utensil) should be washed seven times. (Using translation from Muslim 279a)
[Machine] One of you should not urinate in the standing water and then wash from it. 1211 Abu Abdullah Al-Hafith informed us, who narrated from Abu Bakr bin Salman, who narrated from Al-Hasan bin Mukram and Ahmad bin Hayyan bin Mulaib, who said: Abdullah bin Bakr As-Sahmi narrated from Hisham bin Hassan, from Ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ, with the same meaning.
[Machine] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Cover the container, plug the water container, close the doors, and extinguish the lamp, for indeed, the devil does not untie a knot, uncover a container, or open a door."
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to cover our vessels, tie up our water skins and turn over our vessels.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3411)
1.279 [Machine] Excessive water does not become impure by impurities occurring in it unless it changes.
"It was said, 'O Messenger of Allah! Shall we use the water of Buda'ah well to perform ablution while it is a well in which menstruation rags, flesh of dogs and the putrid are dumped?" Messenger of Allah said: 'Indeed water is pure, nothing makes it impure.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 66)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ being called that you are being given water from the well of Buda'ah, in which the meat of dogs, hyenas, and people's excuses are thrown. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, water is pure. Nothing makes it impure." This was narrated by Muhammad bin Salamah from Ibn Ishaq. It was also said that it was narrated by Muhammad bin Salamah in this chain of narration from Abdul Rahman bin Rafi Al-Ansari. Yahya bin Wadhih also narrated from Ibn Ishaq from Saleet from Ubaidullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Rafi as Muhammad bin Ka'b said. Ibrahim bin Saad, Ahmad bin Khalid Al-Wahbi, and Yunus bin Bukair also narrated from Ibn Ishaq from Saleet from Abdul Rahman bin Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri from his father.
[Machine] I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was performing ablution from a container. So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, do you perform ablution from it when it has been touched by impurities?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Verily, nothing makes water impure, and likewise."
[Machine] He said: It was said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Indeed, you perform ablution from the well of Budaa'ah, and it contains that which is thrown into it by people, as well as the meat of dogs and menstruating women." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, nothing makes the water impure, and this statement has been narrated from another angle from Abu Sa'eed in a raised manner."
[Machine] "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and we came to a place called Ghadir, which had a pool. Some of the people performed ablution and some of them refrained from it until the Prophet ﷺ arrived. When the Prophet ﷺ arrived, he was among the last of the people. He said, 'Perform ablution and drink, for nothing makes the water impure.'"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: "Indeed, nothing makes water impure." He said: "So we drank and watered (the animals)." Abu Ja'far Ad-Dulani said, "It is a joke from Abu Sufyan." The Shaykh said, "And he is not strong, except that I mentioned him as a witness to what has happened before." It has been said about Sharik (another narrator) in this chain of narration from Jabir, and it has been said about him from Jabir or Abu Sa'id in doubt, and Abu Sa'id seems to be more correct. And it has been narrated about Abu Sa'id another story with a similar meaning if the narrator has memorized it.
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the impurity between Makkah and Madinah, and they said that it is the droppings of wolves, dogs, and donkeys. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whatever is in its stomach is for it, and whatever is remaining is pure for us, like this."
[Machine] If I were to provide you with merchandise, you would dislike that, even though I have indeed poured water for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with my own hand from it, and this is a good and connected chain of narrators.

[Machine] "O commander of the faithful, it is reported that Umar approached the pool of Mijannah, and it was said to him, 'Indeed, a dog has urinated in it.' Umar responded, 'Indeed, the dog has urinated with its tongue, so it drank from it and performed ablution.' It has been narrated from Ayub, from Ikrimah, in this story. He said, 'What has gone has gone concerning what the dogs have urinated in their stomachs.' This is a well-known story about Umar, even though it is not considered authentic. We have also narrated its meaning from Yahya ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Hattib, from Umar."
[Machine] We used to travel with Maymuna and pass by Al-Ghadir. There was a well and a small pond, from which she would drink or perform ablution. Sufyan said, "This is not doubtful, rather she intended to drink if she wanted to, or perform ablution if she wanted to."

[Machine] Water is pure as long as it has not been contaminated by the taste or smell of a dead animal.

1.280 [Machine] The impurity of water when it is contaminated by impurity
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Water is not made impure by anything except that which changes its smell, taste and color.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 521)
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "If water is two qullah, nothing will impure it except what overpowers its smell or taste. This is how I have found it, and the word 'two qullah' in it is strange."
[Machine] "Regarding the Prophet ﷺ , he said that water is pure except if its smell, taste, or color changes due to impurity occurring in it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Water does not become impure except what changes its smell or taste." It was narrated by 'Isa ibn Yunus from Al-Ahwas ibn Hakim from Rashid ibn Sa'd from the Prophet ﷺ as a marfu' hadith. It was also narrated by Abu Usama from Al-Ahwas from Ibn 'Awn, and Rashid ibn Sa'd said the same. However, the hadith is not strong, except that we do not know about the impurity of water when it changes due to impurity, and Allah knows best.
[Machine] "When the taste, color, and odor of water change, it is considered impure. It is narrated from the Prophet ﷺ in a manner that the people of hadith do not consider as reliable as this narration. This is the view of the majority, and I am not aware of any disagreement among them in this matter."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about water and what it carries from impurities and animals. He said, "If water is two qullas (a unit of measurement) or less, it does not carry impurities, and likewise..."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about water and what can carry impurities, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If water is two Qullah, it does not carry impurities." Abu Abdur-Rahman and Abu Bakr narrated to us, they said: "Ali son of Sa'dan narrated to me, Shu'ayb bin Ayyub narrated to me, Abu Usamah narrated to me from Al-Walid bin Kathir from Muhammad bin Abbad bin Ja'far from Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Umar from his father from the Prophet ﷺ a similar narration." Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz narrated to us, Abu Ali Muhammad bin Ali Al-Isfara'ini from the origin of his book, and I asked him about Ali bin Abdullah bin Mubashir Al-Wasiti. Shu'ayb bin Ayyub narrated to me, Abu Usamah narrated to me, and Al-Walid bin Kathir narrated to me from Muhammad bin Ja'far bin Zubair and Muhammad bin Abbad bin Ja'far from Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Umar from his father, he said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about water and he mentioned it in a similar manner. It was also narrated in one of the two narrations from Uthman bin Abi Shaybah from Abu Usamah as such."

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ being asked about the water that is found in the valleys and the animals that drink from it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "If the water is equal to two qullats (a unit of measure), it does not carry any impurities." This is the wording of the Hadith narrated by Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz. And likewise...

He replied, 'If the water is two Qullahs (a measurement) and does not carry impurities, then the same is said by dogs and wild animals.' This narration is considered strange and was also reported by Musa ibn Ismail from Hammad ibn Salamah. Ismail ibn Ayyash also reported it from Muhammad ibn Ishaq. Dogs and wild animals are exempted from this rule, except that there is a difference of opinion regarding the chain of narration. This hadith was reported by Hammad ibn Salamah from Asim ibn Mundhir ibn Zubair ibn Al-Awam from Ubaidullah ibn Abdullah ibn Umar from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ . In this narration, the narration of Ibn Ishaq is considered strong."
