1. Purification (22/28)
[Machine] No one of you should urinate in flowing water, then cleanse from it. And similarly, it has been confirmed that Muhammad ibn Sireen narrated from Abu Hurayrah.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should urinate in stagnant water, then perform ablution and bathe from it."
[Machine] Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said, "None of you should urinate in standing water, then cleanse himself with it." Ayub al-Sakhtiyani contradicted Muhammad and reported it from him, attributed to Abu Hurairah.
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira with another chain of transmitters. (Using translation from Muslim 1716b)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "It does not matter if one performs ablution with stagnant water that does not flow, and then washes with it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should urinate in stagnant water, then perform ablution from it or drink it." Abu Zakariya bin Abi Ishaq informed us, from Abu al-Abbas Muhammad bin Ya'qub, from Bahrun bin Nasr, who said, "It was recited upon Ibn Wahb that Anas bin 'Iyad narrated from Harith bin 'Abdulrahman, from 'Ata' bin Mina, and he mentioned it."
[Machine] "He does not become impure, and Allah knows best."
[Machine] One of us would come to the Ghadeer while in a state of janabah and would perform ghusl in one of its corners.
1.261 [Machine] The evidence that the dog's drool is impure
When a dog licks a utensil belonging to any one of you, (the thing contained in it) should be thrown away and then (the utensil) should be washed seven times. (Using translation from Muslim 279a)
1.262 [Machine] Washing the vessel from dog saliva seven times.
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If a dog drinks from the utensil of any one of you, let him wash it seven times."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The purification of the vessel of one of you, if a dog licks it, is to wash it seven times."
1.263 [Machine] Introduction of Soil in One of Its Washes
[Machine] He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The purification of the vessel of one of you, if a dog licks in it, is to wash it seven times, the first of which is with soil." And Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz told us, narrating from Ahmad bin Ja'far Al-Qatti'i, narrating from Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Hanbal, who narrated from my father, narrating from Ismail, who narrated from Hisham bin Hassaan, who mentioned it with a similar narration.
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'If a dog licks the vessel of anyone of you, let him wash it seven times.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 366)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "When a dog licks a vessel, wash it seven times, with the seventh time being with soil." Sa'id ibn Bashir reported from Qatadah Al-Ula that it was with soil. Abu Bakr ibn Al-Harith narrated to us, that Ali ibn Umar Al-Hafiz narrated to us, that Abu Bakr Al-Naysaburi narrated to us, that Ibrahim ibn Hani' narrated to us, that Muhammad ibn Bakkar narrated to us, that Sa'id ibn Bashir reported from Qatadah with a similar chain of narration, except that he said "with soil" at the beginning.
[Machine] This is a Hadith (narration) of the Prophet ﷺ : "If a dog licks a vessel, wash it seven times, the first of them being with soil/dirt." This Hadith is considered peculiar, and if it was memorized by Mu'adh, then it is reliable, because in this Hadith, the narration has not been reported by any trustworthy person besides Ibn Sireen from Abu Huraira, and only (reported) through Ibn Sireen.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered the killing of dogs, then he said, "What is the matter with me and dogs?" He allowed the keeping of the dog for herding and hunting, and he said, "If a dog licks the utensil, wash it seven times, and the eighth time purify it with dirt."
1.264 [Machine] The impurity of what the dog's wet body touches
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up one day and said: "Maymuna, O Messenger of Allah, I have disliked your appearance since today." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Jibril had promised to meet me tonight but he did not meet me. By Allah, he did not deceive me." He kept himself on that for that day. Then he felt a tingling sensation in his body, like the sting of a dog under his blanket. He commanded that it be brought out and then he took water in his hand and sprinkled it in that place. When evening came, he met Jibril, may ﷺ , and he said to him: "You promised to meet me yesterday." He said: "Yes, indeed, but we do not enter a house with a dog or an image in it." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered the killing of the dogs until he even ordered the killing of the small dog of the wall but left the large dog of the wall.
[Machine] He informed him that Maimuna, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned the Hadith until he said, "And Jibril promised me that he would meet me." Maimuna said, "There was a pitcher of water in my house, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took it out, then poured the water in its place. This incident, along with what preceded it regarding the beginning of puberty, indicates the abrogation of what (was previously practiced)."
[Machine] I used to stay overnight in the mosque during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . I was a young, unmarried youth. The dogs would urinate, lick, and roam around in the mosque, but they were not sprayed with anything to prevent that.
1.265 [Machine] The evidence that the pig is worse than the dog. Al-Shafi'i said: Because Allah, may He be exalted, referred to it as impure.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, soon the son of Mary will descend and rule with justice. He will break the cross, kill the swine, abolish the jizyah, and wealth will overflow to the point that no one will accept it." This is a narration from Qutaybah, and Ibn Abdan is not mentioned in his narration regarding the jizyah.
1.266 [Machine] The Sunnah in washing from all types of impurities.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you wakes up, he should not put his hand into his vessel or his water container, or he said, into his purification water, until he washes it three times. Verily, he does not know where his hand spent the night."
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When any one of you gets up after (sleeping) at night, let him not put his hand into the vessel until he has poured water on it two or three times, for none of you knows where his hand spent the night.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 441)
1.267 [Machine] Washing it once is sufficient
[Machine] That the messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked by a woman about menstrual blood staining the garment. He said, "Rub it off with water, then sprinkle it with water, then pray in it."
There were fifty prayers (obligatory in the beginning); and (in the beginning of Islam) washing seven times because of sexual defilement (was obligatory); and washing the urine from the cloth seven times (was obligatory). The Apostle of Allah ﷺ kept on praying to Allah until the number of prayers was reduced to five and washing because of sexual defilement was allowed only once and washing the urine from the clothe was also permitted only once. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 247)
1.268 [Machine] Whiskers of the cat
[Machine] "And it was under the supervision of the son of Abu Qatadah that Abu Qatadah entered upon her, and she poured water for him to perform ablution. Then a cat came and drank from it, so Abu Qatadah extended the container for her until she finished drinking. She said, 'O nephew of my brother, do you find it strange that I look at it?' He said, 'Yes.' She said, 'I heard that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Verily, it is not impure; it is one of those who frequently move around you, the cats.'
[Machine] Abu Qatada came to us and sat close to us. A cat approached him and he poured some water for it. Then he drank from it and performed ablution with its virtue. I looked at him and he turned to me and said, "Do you seem surprised?" I said, "Yes". He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'There is no impurity or anything else, it is only from the cats and their urine. Upon you are Umm Yahya, she is Humeida and the daughter of Ka'b, she is Kabsha bint Ka'b, and likewise."
[Machine] Abu Qatada came to me and asked about ablution. A cat passed by and he signaled to it with the vessel to drink from it. I thought to myself that he disapproved of what he was doing. Then he said, "O daughter of my brother, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told us that cats are not impure. They are only from among those who roam around. And in the narration of Al-Hawdiyy, her aunt told her that she was with Abdullah ibn Abu Qatada when Abu Qatada came to her and called for ablution. The cat passed by and he signaled to it with the vessel to drink from it. She looked at it as if she disapproved of what he was doing. The rest of the story is the same. It has also been narrated from Hammam ibn Yahya ibn Abi Kathir from Ibn Abu Qatada from his father."
[Machine] And he (the Prophet) said, "Indeed, it is not impure, even though it is touched by impurity."
[Machine] Abu Qatadah used to listen to the sound of the water for the cat. He would drink from it and then perform ablution with it. When asked about it, he said, "I only did what I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing."
[Machine] Indeed, I saw Abu Qatada bringing his purification water close to the cat, and then it drank from it, and he would perform ablution with the water remaining on its fur, and all of that is a witness to the reliability of the narration of Malik. And from its evidences is
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said regarding the cat, 'Indeed it is not impure, it is from the creatures of the household.'"
[Machine] That a woman gifted Aisha a parchment of camel meat. Aisha came while she was standing in prayer and she signaled to Aisha to put it down. So she put it down. Aisha had some women with her, and a cat came and ate from it, whether it was a big bite or a small one. When it left, Aisha said to the women, "Eat, for they began to guard the place where the cat's mouth had been. So Aisha took it, turned it around, and ate it. She said, 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , said, "It is not impure, as it is from the tawafin and tawafat, and I have seen the Messenger of Allah, may ﷺ , do ablution with it."' It is also narrated from other ways from Aisha in its meaning, and what we have mentioned is sufficient.

[Machine] Regarding the wall of the cat, no harm was seen in it.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that the purification of a container that a dog has licked is to wash it seven times, the first time with soil and the remaining times with water.
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: "The purification of a vessel owned by one of you, if a dog licks it, is to wash it seven times, the first of which should be with dirt." Then, Abu Hurairah mentioned the cat, saying, "I do not know if he said it once or twice." Nasr ibn Ali said, "I found it in a different place in my father's book, on the authority of Qurrah, on the authority of Ibn Seereen, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, regarding the dog, in a musnad narration, and regarding the cat, in a mawqoof narration." The sheikh said, "Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated it from Qurrah in a mawqoof narration regarding the cat."
[Machine] About Abu Hurayrah concerning the cat, he licks the vessel, it is washed once or twice. And Ayyub As-Sakhtiyani narrated it from Muhammad, thus it is recorded.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If a dog licks the vessel of one of you, then let him wash it seven times, the first of them with soil." It was also narrated by Ja'far ibn Waqid, from Ibn 'Awn, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah, as a raised and graded hadith. The narration of the majority is more authoritative. Hisham ibn Hassan also narrated from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah, concerning the washing of a dish that a lizard has touched, which should be rinsed once or twice.
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira with another chain of transmitters. (Using translation from Muslim 1716b)
[Machine] About the Prophet, ﷺ , there is no evidence against him in his case of the cat, if that is true. Otherwise, it is fabricated based on what was previously mentioned in the narration of Abu Qatada and Aisha from the Prophet, ﷺ .
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to visit the dwellings of the Ansar people and there was a neighboring house that he did not visit. This saddened them, so they said, "O Messenger of Allah, you visit the house of so-and-so but not our house." The Prophet ﷺ responded, "Indeed, you have a dog in your house." They replied, "But they also have a dog in their house." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "Their dog is a guardian, whereas yours is mere pet."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The cat is a part of the family's belongings."
1.269 [Machine] The Sur of All Animals Except the Dog and Pig
[Machine] It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, do you perform ablution with what the animals have left behind?" He said, "Yes, and with what the birds have left behind, all of them." In a different narration, Ash-Shafi'i said, and we were informed by Ibn Abi Dhi'b from Dawud ibn Al-Husayn with a similar statement.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked if he performed ablution with what is superior to the red (water from a well or a river). He said, "Yes, and with what is superior to the waters of animals, and by this he meant what is clear and pure."
[Machine] It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, do you perform ablution with what the camels have left as the best water?" He said, "And with what has been preferred by the cats."
[Machine] Umar Ibn Al-Khattab, O companion of the pond, do not inform us, for we shall respond to the beasts and they will respond to us.
[Machine] He did not consider the walls of the donkey and the mule to be a problem.

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever keeps a dog, except for a dog used for herding, hunting, or farming, will have a portion of his reward deducted each day by a qirat." Al-Zuhri mentioned this to Ibn Umar and he said, "May Allah have mercy on Abu Hurairah, he had a farm."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever acquires a dog, that is not a hunting dog, a herding dog, or a guard dog, then he loses two qirats from his rewards every day."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered the killing of dogs, then he said, "What is the matter with you and them?" He exempted the hunting dog and the sheepdog, and he said, "When a dog licks a utensil, wash it seven times, and the eighth time wash it with soil."
