[Machine] Abu Qatada came to me and asked about ablution. A cat passed by and he signaled to it with the vessel to drink from it. I thought to myself that he disapproved of what he was doing. Then he said, "O daughter of my brother, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told us that cats are not impure. They are only from among those who roam around. And in the narration of Al-Hawdiyy, her aunt told her that she was with Abdullah ibn Abu Qatada when Abu Qatada came to her and called for ablution. The cat passed by and he signaled to it with the vessel to drink from it. She looked at it as if she disapproved of what he was doing. The rest of the story is the same. It has also been narrated from Hammam ibn Yahya ibn Abi Kathir from Ibn Abu Qatada from his father."
