[Machine] Abu Qatadah used to listen to the sound of the water for the cat. He would drink from it and then perform ablution with it. When asked about it, he said, "I only did what I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing."  

البيهقي:١١٦٣أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْحَجَبِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ثنا الْحَجَّاجُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

كَانَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ يُصْغِي الْإِنَاءَ لِلْهِرِّ فَيَشْرَبُ ثُمَّ يَتَوَضَّأُ بِهِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ مَا صَنَعْتُ إِلَّا مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ
