1. Purification (9/28)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to remember Allah at all times.
1.102 [Machine] The Excellence of Purification for Remembrance and Recitation
[Machine] He greeted the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was performing ablution, but he did not respond to him. So, when he finished his ablution, he said, "The only reason I did not respond to you was because I disliked remembering Allah except in a state of purity."
[Machine] "He said that a person does not prostrate unless they are pure, and they do not recite unless they are pure, and they do not pray over a funeral unless they are pure and in a state of ritual consecration."

1.104 [Machine] Prohibition of facing or turning away from the Qibla for defecation or urination
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, and he added to it, "But turn towards the east or the west." Abu Ayyub said, "We arrived in Syria and found toilets that had been built facing the qibla (direction of prayer). So we would avoid them and seek forgiveness from Allah the Exalted."
It was said to Salman: Your Prophet teaches you everything, even about excrement. He replied: Yes. He has forbidden us to face the qiblah at the time of easing or urinating, and cleansing with right hand, and cleansing with less than three stones, or cleansing with dung or bone. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 7)
The Apostle of Allaah ( sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam ) as saying: I am like father to you. When any of you goes to privy, he should not face or turn his back towards the qiblah. He should not cleanse with his right hand. He (the Prophet, sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) also commanded the Muslims to use three stones and forbade them to use dung or decayed bone. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 8)
[Machine] So when one of you goes to the toilet, do not face the Qibla nor turn your back towards it for urination or defecation. Instead, use three stones for cleansing and avoid using (unclean) straw or bones.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited facing both Qiblas (directions of prayers) while urinating or defecating. Abu Ali Al-Roudhbary informed us that I am Abu Bakr ibn Dasah, narrated to us Abu Dawood, narrated to us Musa ibn Isma'il, and he mentioned it with similar wording. Abu Dawood said that Abu Zaid was a freed slave of Banu Tha'labah.
1.105 [Machine] License in that in the buildings
[Machine] He used to say that some people say, "When you sit down to relieve yourself, do not face the Qibla (direction of prayer) or the Al-Masjid Al-Haram (the Sacred Mosque)." Abdullah bin Umar said, "I have climbed upon the roof of our house and saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on two stones facing the Al-Masjid Al-Haram for his needs." Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz informed us that Abu Bakr bin Ishaq informed us that Muhammad bin Ghaleb informed us that Abdullah bin Qa'nabi narrated it from Malik, and it was narrated by Al-Bukhari in his Sahih from Abdullah bin Yusuf from Malik.
[Machine] He informed him, saying, Abdullah bin Umar said, "I once climbed up on the top of a house of ours and saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sitting on two bricks, facing towards Sham (Syria) with his back towards the Qibla (Kaaba)."
[Machine] About this in space, if there is something between you and the qibla that is covering you, then there is no harm. Abu Ali Ar-Rudhabari informed us, Abu Bakr ibn Dasa informed us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Faris narrated to us, Safwan ibn Isa mentioned it in a similar manner.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from facing or turning away from the qibla with our private parts when urinating. However, I saw him before his death, in the same year, urine while facing the qibla. This is not mentioned in the hadith of Abu Abdullah, except in its meaning. And it has been transmitted.
[Machine] I did not face the qibla, nor did I turn away from it due to urine or feces since such and such time. Ar-Raakha narrated to me that Aisha, the Mother of the Believers, said: "When the Prophet ﷺ was alarmed by what people were saying, he ordered for his place of sitting to be brought, and he faced the qibla with it." It was reported by Hammad bin Salamah from Khalid al-Hadda' in the chain of narration of this hadith. Abdul-Wahhab ath-Thaqafi also narrated it from Khalid al-Hadda' from a man from ar-Raakha from Aisha. It was also reported by Abu 'Awanah and others from Khalid al-Hadda' from ar-Raakha from Aisha.
[Machine] I said to Shu'ayb ibn al-Harith, "I am amazed by the disagreement between Abu Hurayrah and Ibn Umar." He said, "Nafi' narrated from Ibn Umar that he entered the house of Hafsah and happened to face the direction of the qibla, and he saw the urine of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Abu Hurayrah said, 'When any one of you enters the toilet, he should not face or turn his back towards the qibla.'" Shu'ayb said, "They are both truthful. As for Abu Hurayrah's statement, he said it in the desert. Indeed, Allah has worshippers who are angels and jinn who pray. No one should face or turn his back towards them while urinating or defecating. As for the urine of the Messenger, it is just a house that is built and there is no qibla in it. And this is how it is."
1.106 [Machine] Relinquishment in times of need
[Machine] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on some of his journeys, and whenever he went far into the desert
[Machine] I went with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wanted to relieve himself, he would go far away so that no one could see him. We then descended to a place on the ground that had no sign or tree. He said to me, "O Jabir, take the container and follow us." So I filled the container with water and we journeyed until we could hardly see. Then, there were two trees with a distance of arms' length between them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Jabir, continue on and say to this tree: 'The Messenger of Allah is asking you to move so that he can sit behind you.'" So I did as instructed, and the tree trembled until it joined its companion. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat behind both trees until he finished his business. It has been narrated in the distance of the Mazaahib from Ibn Umar and Abdur Rahman bin Abi Qurad from the Prophet ﷺ.

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ narrated a hadiths and wrote to Abu Musa asking him about them. Abu Musa wrote back to him saying, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was walking when he felt the urge to urinate, so he sat by a wall and urinated. He said, 'When the Children of Israel felt the urge to urinate, one of them would get the urine all over their body and clothes. So if one of you needs to urinate, let them divert their urine away from themselves.'"
1.108 [Machine] Privacy when fulfilling needs
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day made me mount behind him and he confided to me something secret which I would not disclose to anybody; and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ liked the concealment provided by a lofty place or cluster of dates (while answering the call of nature), Ibn Asma' said in his narration: It implied an enclosure of the date-trees. (Using translation from Muslim 342)
[Machine] Jabir, I followed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he went to relieve himself. I brought him water to wash with. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked and did not see anything to cover himself with. Then he saw two trees by the edge of the valley. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to one of them and took a branch from its branches. He said, "Come to me by the permission of Allah, O tree." The branch came down with him as if it were an obedient camel with its rider. He then went to the other tree and took a branch from its branches. He said, "Come to me by the permission of Allah, O tree." The branch came down with him in the same manner. When he was in the center between the two trees, he said, "Come together by the permission of Allah, O trees." They came together. Jabir said, "I sat down, pondering to myself, when a noise came from the direction of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . I turned and saw him approaching, and the two trees had separated. Each one of them stood on its own. He mentioned the rest of the narration."

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Whoever enters the lavatory should cover himself, and if he cannot find anything except a handful of sand, let him use it and then cleanse himself with water. Verily, the devils play with the utensils of the children of Adam. Whoever acts accordingly has done well, and whoever does not, there is no blame upon him."

1.109 [Machine] Placing the ring while entering the bathroom
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when he entered the bathroom, would remove his ring. The saying is in the narration of Hujjaj. And in the narration of Hudbah Ibn Khalid, he said, "I only know it from Az-Zuhri from Anas." 450 reported to us Abu Ali Ar-Rudhbary, from Abu Bakr Ibn Dasa, who said, Abu Dawud said, "This is a rejected narration, and it is only known from Ibn Juraij from Ziyad Ibn Saad from Az-Zuhri from Anas, that the Prophet ﷺ took a ring made of paper and then threw it." The sheikh said, "This is the famous narration from Ibn Juraij, excluding the narration of Hammam."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wear a ring that had the engraving "Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah" on it. Whenever he entered the restroom, he would remove it. This witness is considered weak, and Allah knows best.
1.110 [Machine] What to say when you want to enter the bathroom
[Machine] The Prophet, ﷺ , used to say when he entered the bathroom, "Oh Allah, I seek refuge in You from male and female devils." Al-Bukhari said that Musa mentioned it from Hammad, and Muslim narrated it from Yahya bin Yahya. Al-Bukhari also said that Ghundar mentioned it from Shu'bah from Abdul Aziz. And Saeed bin Zaid mentioned it from Abdul Aziz, when he intended to enter the bathroom.
Whenever the Prophet ﷺ went to the lavatory, he used to say: "Allahumma inni aʿudhu bika min al-khubuthi wal khaba'ith." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6322)
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Verily, these privy parts are dying, so when one of you goes to the toilet, let him say: I seek refuge in Allah from male and female evil spirits.'"

[Machine] The prophet ﷺ used to cover his head when he entered the restroom, and when he came to his family, he would also cover his head. The sheikh said that this hadith is one of the things that were denied by Muhammad ibn Yunus al-Kudaymi. Abu Saad al-Malini informed us, I am Abu Ahmad bin Adi al-Hafiz in this hadith, I do not know it.
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to wear his shoes and cover his head when entering the bathroom.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us that when one of us enters the toilet, they should rely on their left and support themselves with their right.
1.112 [Machine] How to Detect in Need
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ used to, when he wanted to fulfill a need, not lift his garment until he came close to the ground. Abu Dawud said.
When the Prophet ﷺ wanted to relieve himself, he would not raise his garment, until he lowered himself near the ground. Abu DAwud said: This tradition has been transmitted by 'Abd al-Salam b. Harb on the authority of al-A'mash from Anas b. Malik. This chain of narrators is weak (because A'mash's hearing tradition from Anas b. Malik is not established). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 14)
1.113 [Machine] What does he say when he comes out of the restroom?
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , when he came out of the toilet, would say, "I seek your forgiveness." And Abi Abdullah al-Hafiz informed us that Abu al-Abbas, who was deaf, narrated to us from Al-Hassan ibn Mukram, who narrated from Abu al-Nadr, who narrated from Isra'il ibn Yunus, who mentioned it in the same way. And Abi Abdullah al-Hafiz narrated to us from Abu al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Mahbubi from Marw, who narrated from Saeed ibn Masood, who narrated from Ubaidullah ibn Musa, who narrated from Isra'il ibn Yunus, who mentioned it in the same way. And Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq narrated to us from Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn al-Nadr, who narrated from Muawiya ibn Amro, who narrated from Yahya ibn Abi Bakir, who narrated from Isra'il, who mentioned it in the same way. And Abu Bakr Ahmed ibn Ali al-Hafiz informed us that I, Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Abdullah al-Asbahani, narrated from Muhammad ibn Ishaq ibn Khuzaymah, who narrated from Abu Musa Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna, who narrated from Yahya ibn Abi Bakir, who mentioned it with this chain of narration. Ibn Khuzaymah said, "And Muhammad ibn Aslam narrated to us from Ubaidullah ibn Musa, who narrated from Isra'il with this chain of narration, mentioning it in the same way. The Shaykh said, "And this addition in this hadith I did not find except in the narration of Ibn Khuzaymah, who is an Imam, and I saw it in an old copy of Ibn Khuzaymah's book that does not have this addition, then it was added in another handwriting in its margin. It is most likely that it was added to his book without his knowledge. Allah knows best. And Imam Abu Uthman al-Saabuni informed us that I, Abu Tahir Muhammad ibn al-Fadl ibn Muhammad ibn Ishaq ibn Khuzaymah, narrated from my grandfather, who mentioned it without this addition in the hadith. And the authenticity of this addition in the hadith is invalidated.

[Machine] It is narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he forbade urinating in stagnant water.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It does not matter if one uses stagnant water that does not flow for ablution, and then washes with it."
1.115 [Machine] Prohibition of abandoning people and their shadows
The Prophet (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam ) as saying : Be on your guard against two things which provoke cursing. They (the hearers) said : Prophet of Allaah ( sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam), what are these things which provoke cursing: easing in the watering places and on the thoroughfares, and in the shade (of the tree)(where they take shelter and rest). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 25)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Be on your guard against three things which provoke cursing: easing in the watering places and on the thoroughfares, and in the shade (of the tree). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 26)
[Machine] A man said to Abu Huraira, "You have given us fatwas on everything until you almost give us a fatwa on defecation." Abu Huraira replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever exposes their impurity on a road commonly used by Muslims, upon them is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people.'"

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked urinating in the open air. Abu Saad informed us that Abu Ahmad ibn Addi narrated to us, from Ibn Sa'id, from Abdullah ibn Imran, from Yusuf, who mentioned it with his chain of narration. Abu Ahmed said, "It is fabricated."

Humayd al-Himyari said: I met a man (Companion of the Prophet) who remained in the company of the Prophet ﷺ just as AbuHurayrah remained in his company. He then added: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade that anyone amongst us should comb (his hair) every day or urinate in the place where he takes a bath. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 28)

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said: 'None of you should urinate in a hole, and when you sleep, extinguish the lamp, for the mouse may take the wick and burn the residents of the house. And lean the water vessels and cover the drinks, and close the doors.' Qatadah was asked: 'What is disliked about urinating in a hole?' He said: 'Because it is the dwelling of the jinn creatures.'"

[Machine] "To Aisha, they say that the Prophet ﷺ advised Ali. So she said: 'With what did he advise Ali? I saw him calling for a container to urinate in while I was leaning against his chest, then he became impotent or she said that he became impotent, and he died.' So she wondered, why do these people say that he advised Ali?"

The Prophet ﷺ had a wooden vessel under his bed in which he would urinate at night. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 24)

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Two men should not go out to relieve themselves uncovering their private parts and speaking, for Allah dislikes that." And Abu Abdullah Al-Hafiz informed us that Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Ahmad Al-Humaidi narrated to us, who narrated to us from Al-Hasan ibn Al-Fadl Al-Bajali, who narrated to us from Muslim ibn Ibrahim Al-Warraq, that Ikrimah ibn Ammar narrated to us from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Iyad ibn Hilal, who mentioned him with similar wording. Abu Bakr Ahmad ibn Ali Al-Hafiz informed us, and Ibrahim ibn Abdullah Al-Asbahani said, Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ishaq ibn Khuzayma followed these two narrations, stating that this is authentic and this scholar is Iyad ibn Hilal, who narrated from him Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, without mentioning a specific narration. I consider the doubt in it from Ikrimah ibn Ammar when he said from Hilal ibn Iyad.
