13. Chapter of Sīn (Male) (3/36)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Four deeds of the living reach the dead: a person who leaves behind a righteous child who prays for him, a person who gives charity that continues to benefit him after his death, a person who imparts knowledge that is acted upon after his death, and a person who leaves behind a copy of the Qur'an that is read from without diminishing the reward of those who read it."
[Machine] When death approached him, they noticed some distress in him. They said, "What saddens you, O Abu Abdullah, when you have a precedent in goodness? You witnessed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ great conquests." He said, "I am saddened by our beloved Muhammad ﷺ when he left us and entrusted us, saying, 'Let him who has journeyed take his provisions from you.' So, he is the one who saddens me." Then, Salman's wealth was collected and its value amounted to fifteen dirhams.
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Indeed, the hungriest people on the Day of Resurrection will be those who were the most satisfied in the world. O Salman, the world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever."
[Machine] And Salman said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took Ali's hand and said, "Indeed, this is the first person who believed in me and he is the first person who will shake hands with me on the Day of Resurrection. And this is the greatest Siddiq (truthful person), and this is the distinguisher between truth and falsehood, and this is the lion of the believers, and the wealth is the lion of the oppressor."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to visit a man from the Ansar, and when he entered upon him, he placed his hand on his forehead and said, "How do you find yourself?" He did not feel any pain, so it was said, "O Messenger of Allah, he is preoccupied with you." So he said, "Leave me alone with him." The women left him and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hand and the sick man indicated that he should move his hand where it was. Then he called out, "O so-and-so, how do you find yourself?" He said, "I find myself well and I have been visited by two, one of them is black and the other is white." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Which of them is closer to you?" He said, "The black." He said, "Indeed, good is only a little, and evil is abundant." He said, "So grant me something from your prayer, O Messenger of Allah." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, forgive the many sins and grant me the little good." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What do you see?" He said, "I see good, by my father and mother, good is growing and I see evil declining, and the blackness has been delayed from me." He said, "What work did you do when you were most devoted to it?" He said, "I used to water the water." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Listen, O Salman, do you deny anything from me?" He said, "Yes, by my father and mother, I have seen you in places where I did not see you in the same condition as you are today." He said, "I know what will meet every vein, except that it is death approaching rapidly."
[Machine] Abu Bakr and Umar entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "From the signs of a hypocrite is that when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted, he betrays." So, Abu Bakr and Umar left the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they were upset. I met them and said, "Why do I see you upset?" They said, "We heard a statement from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in which he said, 'From the signs of a hypocrite is that when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; and when he is entrusted, he betrays.'" I asked them, "Did you not ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it?" They replied, "We did inform him, but he did not place us in the position where they are placed, saying, 'I have met them and did not present them (with the question).' However, the hypocrite, when he speaks, he regards himself with these characteristics: that he lies when he speaks, that he intends to break his promises when he makes them, and that he considers himself a betrayer when entrusted."
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , forbade us from burdening ourselves with what we do not possess for the guest."
[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "A man does not bathe on the day of Friday and purify himself with whatever he can of his purification, anoint himself with his oil, or touch any perfume from his house, then go and not separate between two people, then pray what is prescribed for him, then remain still when the Imam speaks, except that what is between him and the next Friday will be forgiven."
[Machine] On the day of the Battle of Khaybar, my brother fought fiercely with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He turned back towards him with his sword and killed him. The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had doubts and questioned this matter. A man died by his weapon, so they doubted some of his affair. Salamah said, "So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ locked himself in Khaybar." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, permit me to retaliate against him?" So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave him permission. Then Umar ibn Al-Khattab said, "I know what you are going to say." So I said...
[Machine] About Jabir ibn Abdullah and Salama ibn Al-Akwa, a man who embraced Islam from the companions of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , that they both said: "We were in a battle when the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , came to us and said, 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , says: 'Enjoy yourselves.'"
[Machine] We returned with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ accompanying a man who was extremely pale. So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have never seen anyone more intense in their heat than him." He ﷺ said, "Shall I not inform you about the most intense heat on the Day of Resurrection? It will be those two men coming forward." At that time, there will be two men from his companions.

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ presented Abu Jahl with a camel during the year of Hudaybiyah, which Abu Jahl used to ride during the Battle of Badr, with a silver saddle on its head." Abdullah said, "My father told me this story a long time ago, and then he left it."
[Machine] "God forbid! In the permission of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, 'Spread out, O Muslims, so that you may smell the winds and settle in the valleys.' They said, 'We are afraid that this will change our migration.' The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'You are all immigrants wherever you are.'"
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to 'Amir Ibn Al-Akwa', "Come down, O 'Amir, and let us hear your poetry." So he descended while trembling.
[Machine] I was with the Prophet ﷺ when a man entered the mosque and said, "Apprehend him, for he is an eye." I apprehended him and I was light, so I killed him. The Prophet ﷺ rewarded me by taking his belongings.
[Machine] Aamir ibn al-Akwa was a prominent man. He struck someone and killed him, and the sword injured the foot of another man named Aamir. He started saying, "I killed myself," and he died. This incident was mentioned to the Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , who said, "He will receive the reward of two."

We, during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, in one month of Ramadan (observed fast according to our liking). He who wished to fast lasted and he who wished to break broke it and fed a needy person as an expiation 1544 till this verse was revealed:" He who witnesses among you the month (of Ramadan) he should observe fast during it" (ii. 184). (Using translation from Muslim 1145b)
كُنَّا فِي رَمَضَانَ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ شَاءَ صَامَ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَفْطَرَ وَافْتَدَى بِطَعَامِ مِسْكِينٍ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {فَمَنْ شَهِدَ مِنْكُمُ الشَّهْرَ فَلْيَصُمْهُ}
[Machine] A young man came and stood in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said loudly, "O Messenger of Allah, do you think that someone who has not abandoned any evil deed except that he has done it, and has not committed any sin except that he has followed through with it, and there is no arrow higher than him except that he has been struck by it with his right hand, and if his sins were distributed among the people of Madinah, they would overwhelm them?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Have you embraced Islam?" He replied, "As for me, I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then go, for Allah has replaced your sins with good deeds." The young man said, "O Messenger of Allah, even my betrayals and sins?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Even your betrayals and sins." Then the young man turned away while continuously saying "Allahu Akbar" and I kept hearing him say it until he disappeared from my sight or I could no longer hear him.

[Machine] He and a group from his family and children went to visit the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so they sought his permission and entered. He asked, "Who are these?" It was said to him, "This is the delegation of Anzah." He said, "Welcome, welcome, welcome! Indeed, Anzah has the best of supporters. Welcome, O people of Shu'aib and the sisters of Musa. Ask, O Salamah, about what you need." He said, "I have come to ask you about what you have obligated upon me regarding camels, sheep, and goats." He informed him and then sat near him. Then he sought his permission to leave, and he said to him, "You may leave." The next morning, when he got up, he said, "O Allah, provide Anzah with enough, without extravagance."

[Machine] He is called Salim, the servant of Abu Hudhayfah, just as the Prophet ﷺ adopted Zaid and Abu Hudhayfah married Salim, considering him his son from the daughter of his sister Fatimah bint al-Walid ibn Uthbah, who was among the first emigrants and was one of the best days of the Quraysh. When Allah ﷻ revealed in that what He revealed {Invite them to their fathers}, each one of those who were adopted was called to his father, and if his father was not known, he returned to his guardians. Then Sahlah bint Suhayl, who was Abu Hudhayfah's wife and from the Banu 'Amir ibn Lu'ay, came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we used to consider Salim as our son, and he used to come to me and I am his favor, but we have only one house, so what do you think?" He said to her, "Breastfeed him and he becomes unlawful for you."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ came across a dead tree trunk and said, "What harm would it do to the people of this if they benefited from its fragrance?"

[Machine] We participated with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the battle of Al-Muraysi'ah, and our slogan was "O victorious one, support us, support us."
The story of Umm Mabad and her description of the Prophet ﷺ
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ set out on the migration, he was accompanied by Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), Amir ibn Fuhayrah, the servant of Abu Bakr, and 'Abdullah bin Uraiqit, who was guiding them on the way. When they passed by the tent of Umm Ma'bad al-Khuza'iyyah, she did not recognize him. He said to her, "O Umm Ma'bad, do you have any milk?" She replied, "No, by Allah, the sheep are too weak." He then said, "What about this sheep I see in the corner of the tent?" She replied, "It is a sheep that has been left behind by the flock because it is too weak." He asked, "Will you allow me to milk her?" She said, "By Allah, no male has touched her; still, go ahead and try." He then stroked her back and her udder, prayed, and asked for a large bowl. He milked it until it was full and then gave his companions a drink, all drinking until satisfied. Then he milked her again, filling another bowl, which he left with her, and set off.
When Umm Ma'bad's husband came home in the evening, he asked her, "O Umm Ma'bad, what is this milk? There is no milking sheep in the house, and the flock is too weak." She replied, "By Allah, a man who appeared to be blessed, with a handsome face, bright eyes, and a lovely voice passed by. His presence was calm when he spoke and dignified when silent. His words were well-arranged, and he was the best-looking and most handsome of his companions, surrounded by men who listened to his commands and followed his instructions promptly. When he forbade something, they adhered to his prohibition."
The husband said, "This is the description of the companion of Quraysh. If I saw him, I would follow him and strive to do so." They did not know in Mecca where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had headed until they heard someone calling out on Mount Abu Qubais.

[Machine] About Urwah: "Regarding the name of the man who was martyred on the day of Uhud alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the Ansar, then from the Banu Nabit, it is Salit bin Thabit bin Waqsh."

[Machine] The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a cloud, so they said, "O Messenger of Allah, we were hoping that this cloud will rain on us." He said, "It has been commanded to rain on Balil," meaning a valley called Balil.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The scale is in the hand of Allah, He lifts some people and lowers others, and the heart of the son of Adam is between two fingers of the fingers of the Most Merciful. He turns it as He wills. If He wills, He misguides it, and if He wills, He keeps it steadfast."
