13. Chapter of Sīn (Male)
[Machine] Adi ibn Hatim came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, my father used to maintain kinship, carry loads, and feed the hungry." He said, "Did he embrace Islam?" He said, "No." He said, "Your father used to love to be mentioned, so he is mentioned."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "I was sent and the Hour (Day of Judgment) are like these two." And he pointed with his two fingers.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was presented with a drink, and there were elders on his left and a young boy on his right, who was the youngest among the people. He said to the boy, "May I give the elders some of this drink?" The boy replied, "I would not prefer anyone over myself." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave it to him.
[Machine] There were seven dinars with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he gave them to Aisha. When he fell ill, he said, "O Aisha, take the gold to Ali." Then he fainted, and Aisha was preoccupied with him until he repeated this several times. Each time, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fainted, and Aisha was preoccupied with him. So, she sent it to Ali. He gave it in charity and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spent the night of Monday in the throes of death. Aisha sent her lamp with a woman from her household and said, "Give us from your lamp some clarified butter." For the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spent the night of Monday in the throes of death.
I would certainly give this standard to a person at whose hand Allah would grant victory and who loves Allah and His Messenger and Allah and His Messenger love him also. The people spent the night thinking as to whom it would be given. When it was morning the people hastened to Messenger of Allah ﷺ all of them hoping that that would be given to him. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Where is 'Ali b. Abu Talib? They said: Messenger of Allah, his eyes are sore. He then sent for him and he was brought and Messenger of Allah ﷺ applied saliva to his eyes and invoked blessings and he was all right, as if he had no ailment at all, and conferred upon him the standard. 'Ali said: Messenger of Allah, I will fight them until they are like us. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Advance cautiously until you reach their open places, thereafter invite them to Islam and inform them what is obligatory for them from the rights of Allah, for, by Allah, if Allah guides aright even one person through you that is better for you than to possess the most valuable of the camels. (Using translation from Muslim 2406)
People came to Sahl b. Sa'd al-Sa'idi, when they were doubtful about the kind of wood of the pulpit (in the mosque of the Prophet). They asked him about it. He said: By Allah, I know (the wood) of which it was made; I saw it the first day when it was placed there, and the first day when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for a woman whom Sahl named and asked her: Order your boy, the carpenter, to construct for me a wooden pulpit so that I sit on it when I deliver a speech to the people. So she ordered him and he made a pulpit of a wood called tarfa taken from al-Ghabah (a place at a distance of nine miles from Medina). He brought it to her. She sent it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ordered and that was placed here. I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying on it: he said: "Allah is most great"; he then bowed while he was on it; then he returned and prostrated in the root of the pulpit; he then returned (to the pulpit). When he finished (the prayer), he addressed himself to the people and said: O people, I did this so that you may follow me and know my prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1080)
[Machine] A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have come to offer myself to you." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at her, raised his gaze to her and straightened himself, then lowered his head. When the woman saw this, she realized that he did not have any interest in her, so she sat down. A man from his companions then stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, if you have no need for her, then marry her to me." He asked, "Do you have anything to offer as a dowry?" He replied, "No." The Prophet asked, "What do you have from the Quran?" He said, "I have knowledge of this Surah and that Surah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then I have married her to you in exchange for what you have from the Quran."

[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, I have woven this with my own hands to clothe you." So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , took it, needing it. He came out to us, and it was indeed his lower garment. A man from the people touched it and said, "O Messenger of Allah, clothe me with it." He said, "Yes." He sat as much as Allah willed in the gathering, then he returned it to him. The people said to him, "You have done well, you asked him for it even though you knew he does not refuse a requester." The man said, "By Allah, I only asked for it to be my shroud when I die." Sahla said, "And it became his shroud." Qutaybah said, "Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas was."
