13. Chapter of Sīn (Male)
[Machine] Narrated Abu Hurairah: I heard Allah's Messenger ﷺ say, "Horses are kept for the sake of good deeds until the Day of Resurrection, and the riders of these horses will receive rewards for them. Whoever ties a horse in the way of Allah, its expenses will be like the person's charity, which will not be reduced from his wealth."
"When anyone of you prays toward a Sutra, let him get close to it and not allow the Shaitan to sever his prayer for him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 748)
[Machine] He heard Sahl ibn Abi Hathma saying that Abdullah ibn Sahl was found dead in a poor man, or impoverished district, or Khaybar region. So his brother, Abdullah ibn Sahl, went to the Prophet ﷺ , and his aunt, Huwaisah, and her two sons, Mahysah and Muhyysah, went with him. Then Abdullah ibn Sahl began to speak, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Al-kubra, al-kubra" (the greatest sin, the greatest sin). Then Muhyysah began to speak and mentioned the killing of Abdullah ibn Sahl. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, we found Abdullah ibn Sahl dead, and indeed the Jews are people of disbelief and treachery, and they are the ones who killed him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Then you all swear fifty oaths, and you will either deserve your companion or the blood of your companion." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, how can we swear oaths about something we did not witness and were not present for?" He said, "Then the Jews will swear fifty oaths to you." They said, "How can we accept oaths from a people who are polytheists?" So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ settled the matter, and Sahl said, "Indeed, it indeed happened to me one morning."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say to the harvesters, "Take and leave one-third, and if you cannot leave one-third or find it, then leave one-fourth."
[Machine] That Abdullah bin Sahl and Muḥayṣah bin Masʿūd came to Khaybar with a need, and they separated among its palm trees. Abdullah bin Sahl was killed, so his brother, the Prophet's ﷺ cousin, Abdullah bin Sahl, and the sons of his uncle, Muḥayṣah and Ḥuwayṣah bin Masʿūd, came to the Prophet ﷺ. Abdullah bin Sahl started to speak and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Start with the most important matters," meaning to make the major issue the first one. And Abdullah bin Sahl was older than his companions, so they spoke about the killing of their companion. The Prophet ﷺ said, "You deserve your killer or your companion by fifty oaths among them." They said, "They are a disbelieving people." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By Allah, I wish I had your killing." Sahl said, "I encountered a she-camel of theirs and it ran away with me in their marsh."
[Machine] A group of Ansar came out and one of them was killed. The matter was brought to the Messenger of Allah and he asked, "Do you have any evidence?" They replied, "We don't have any evidence." He asked, "Then what about their oaths?" They said, "When the Jews kill us, they swear oaths." He said, "Then what is your oath?" They said, "We did not witness it, by the oath of the Messenger of Allah."
"A man from among the Ansar who was called Sahl bin Abi Hathmah told him that some of his people went to Khaibar, where they went their separate ways. Then they found one of their numbers slain. They said to those in whose land they found him: 'You killed our companion!' They said: 'We did not kill him and we do not know who killed him.' They went to the prophet of Allah and said: 'O Prophet of Allah, we went to Khaibar and we found one of our number slain.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'Let the elders speak first.' And he said to them: 'Bring proof of the one whom you suspect killed him.' They said: 'We do not have any proof.' He said: "Then let them swear an oath to you.' They said" 'We will not accept the oath of the Jews.' The Messenger of Allah did not want his blood to have been shed with no Justice done, so he paid a Diyah of one hundred camels from the Sadaqah." 'Amr bin Shu'aib differed with them. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4719)
[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated on the authority of Malik that Bakr ibn Sahl al-Dimyati narrated to us, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Yusuf, who said: "I am Malik, on the authority of Abu Layla ibn Abdullah ibn Sahl, on the authority of Sahl ibn Abi Hathmah that he was informed by some of the elders of his people that Abdullah ibn Sahl and Muhaysah went out to Khaybar due to some difficulty that had befallen them. Muhaysah then came and informed them that Abdullah ibn Sahl had been killed and thrown into a well or a blind person's home. He then went to the Jews and said, 'By Allah, you killed him.' They replied, 'By Allah, we did not kill him.' He then continued until he reached his people and mentioned this to them. So he and his brother Huwayyisah, who was older than him, along with Abdur Rahman ibn Sahl, went to Khaybar. Huwayyisah went forth to speak, even though he was the one who had been present in Khaybar. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Huwayyisah, 'Recite the takbir, recite the takbir,' intending for him to mention the year (of the event). Huwayyisah then spoke, and after him, Muhaysah spoke. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Either they should hand over the killer or they should ready themselves for war.' So the Messenger of Allah sent them a letter regarding this matter and they wrote back, 'By Allah, we did not kill him.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Huwayyisah, Muhaysah, and Abdur Rahman ibn Sahl, 'You take an oath and you deserve the blood of your companion?' They replied, 'No.' He said, 'Then will the Jews take an oath for you?' They said, 'They are not Muslims.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was very displeased with this and sent them one hundred camels as compensation, until they were brought into their house. Sahl said, 'A red camel from among them ran ahead of me.'"

Then he should pray one rak'ah with them and they should pray another rak'ah by themselves, and prostrate twice where they are. Then they should go to where the others are and the others should come and he should lead them in bowing once and prostrating twice, so it will be two rak'ahs for him and one for them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the sale of fruits for dried dates, but gave license regarding the 'araya for its sale on the basis of a calculation of their amount. But those who buy them can eat them when fresh. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3363)
Sahl bin Abi Hathmah said “The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ divide Khaibar into two halves. One half was reserved for his emergency and needs, the other half was meant for the Muslims. He divided among them into eighteen portions.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3010)

Rafi bin Khadij and Sahl Bi Abi Hathamah narrated that the Messenger of Allah forbade Muzabanah, which means selling fresh dates still on the tree for dried dates, except in cases of 'Araya, for which he gave permission. (Sahih (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4543)

[Machine] I heard the Prophet ﷺ on the minbar saying, "Avoid the seven major sins." The people remained silent, and no one spoke. So the Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you not ask me about them? They are: associating partners with Allah, killing a person, fleeing from battle, consuming the property of orphans, consuming usury, slandering chaste women, and falsely accusing someone of adultery after migration."
