[Machine] Amir ibn Al-Tufayl came to the Prophet ﷺ in Medina. He visited the Prophet ﷺ and raised his voice. Thabit ibn Qays stood up with his sword against the Prophet ﷺ . The Prophet ﷺ said, "O Amir, lower your voice in the presence of the Prophet ﷺ ." Amir asked, "Who are you to say that?" Thabit replied, "By the One who honored him, if the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not dislike it, I would strike you with this sword." Amir looked at him while he was sitting, and Thabit was standing. Amir said to him, "By Allah, O Thabit, if I had the opportunity, I would respond to you." Thabit said, "By Allah, O Amir, if I had the opportunity, I would make you regret your words." Then the nephew of Amir sneezed and praised Allah. The Prophet ﷺ thanked Allah and ignored Amir's sneeze. Amir said, "You praised this boy and ignored me?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "Surely, Allah will suffice for me against you and the son of Qilah." Then Amir left and gathered people for the Prophet ﷺ . Among the people was Amr ibn Umayyah Ad-Damri and the rest were from the Ansar, including their leader Munthir ibn Amr. They set out and stopped at the well of Ma'una. Amir aggressively approached them and killed all of them except for Amr ibn Umayyah, who was sitting in the saddle. Allah inspired His Prophet ﷺ about the news of their death, so he said to his companions, "Your companions have been killed, so what is your opinion?" The Prophet ﷺ invoked curse upon Amir, saying, "O Allah, suffice me against Amir." Allah sufficed him against Amir and he made his way until he arrived at his home, where Allah caused him to stumble and he fell with a severe wound on his neck in the house of a woman from the tribe of Salul. Amir continued to say, "O Amir, like the beggar of a camel in the house of a Saluliya, he desires to die in her house." He remained in that condition until he died in her house, while Arbad ibn Qays was struck by lightning and died. The rest of the people who were with them returned.
