13. Chapter of Sīn (Male)
[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik, from Thawr ibn Zaid al-Dili, from Ibn AbduAllah ibn Sufyan, from his grandfather Sufyan ibn AbduAllah, that Umar ibn al-Khattab sent him as an official verifier. He would count the provisions for the people, and they said to him, "You count the provisions for us but do not take anything from it?" When he came to Umar ibn al-Khattab, he mentioned this to him, and Umar ibn al-Khattab said to him, "Yes, you count the provisions for them while the shepherd carries them, and you do not take the fruit or the milk or the weaned young one or the lamb's livestock, but you take the logs and the branches. This is fairness between the sustenance and its best."
[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated that 'Umar ibn Hafs as-Sadusi narrated that 'Asim ibn 'Ali narrated that Yahya ibn 'Uthman ibn Salih narrated that Nuaim ibn Hammad narrated that Abu Khalifa al-Fadl ibn al-Hubab narrated that Abu al-Walid at-Tayalisi said: They narrated that Ibrahim ibn Saad narrated from az-Zuhri from Muhammad ibn Abdur Rahman ibn Maaz from Sufyan ibn Abdullah ath-Thaqafi who said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, inform me of a matter I can adhere to." He said, "Say: 'My Lord is Allah' and then remain steadfast." I said, "What do you fear most for me?" So he took hold of his tongue and said, "This."
“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, tell me of something that I can adhere to.’ He said: ‘Say: “Allah is my Lord,” then stand straight (adhere steadfastly to Islam).’ He said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is the thing that you fear most for me?’ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of his own tongue, then he said: ‘This.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3972)
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, give me a saying in Islam that I do not need to ask anyone after you." He said, "Say, 'I believe in Allah' and then remain upright." I asked, "What should I fear, O Messenger of Allah?" he motioned towards his tongue.
[Machine] I said to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, "O Prophet of Allah, tell me a saying that I can benefit from and understand easily." So, the Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not get angry." He repeated this multiple times when asked about it, saying, "Do not get angry."
