⌜Present in the battles of⌝ Badr and Uḥud, had the teknonym of Abū ʿAmr, and was martyred on the Day of the Trench
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left the funeral of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh, and tears were streaming down his beard and onto his hands.
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived at Dhul-Hulayfah, the Ansar's young men would inform him about their families. It was said to Usayd ibn Hudayr, "Your wife has passed away." He cried and I was between him and the Prophet ﷺ so I said, "Are you crying while you are the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and you have preceded others in good deeds?" He said, "It is only right for me not to cry, for I have heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'The pillars of the throne shook for the death of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh.'"
Thos is the one at whose death the Throne shook, the gates of heaven were opened of him and seventy thousand angles attended his funeral. It squeezed him once then released him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2055)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, the Throne has trembled for the death of Saad."
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Throne of The Most Merciful trembled upon the death of Sa'd bin Mu'adh.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 158)
The Throne of the most Gracious shook at the death of Sa'd b. Mu'adh. (Using translation from Muslim 2466a)
The Throne of the most Gracious shook at the death of Sa'd b. Mu'adh. (Using translation from Muslim 2466a)
The Throne of the most Gracious shook at the death of Sa'd b. Mu'adh. (Using translation from Muslim 2466a)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say while the funeral of Saad was before him, "Indeed, the Throne of the Most Merciful has shaken for it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Sa'd ibn Mu'adh on the day he died and was being buried, "For this righteous slave, the Throne of the Most Merciful shook, and the gates of the heavens were opened for him, and Allah eased his situation."
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The Throne trembled for the death of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The funeral of Saad is placed, and the Throne shook for the death of Saad."
Jabir reported that the Throne of the most Compassionate shook because of the death of Sa'd b. Mu'adh. (Using translation from Muslim 2466b)
[Machine] When Sa'd's funeral procession was taking place, his mother shouted. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, "Shouldn't your tears dry and your grief go away? For your son was the first whom Allah made laugh, and the throne trembled for him."
"When the funeral of Sa'd bin Mu'adh was carried, the hypocrites said: 'How light his funeral is.' And this was due to his judgment concerning Banu Quraizah. So this reached the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: 'Indeed, the angels were carrying him.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3849)
[Machine] When Saad bin Muadh was buried, and we were with the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , he began to say "Subhan Allah" and the people said it along with him for a long time. Then he said "Allahu Akbar" and the people said it along with him. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, why did you say 'Subhan Allah'?" He said, "Indeed, the grave of this righteous man was constricted, so Allah relieved him with His mercy."
[Machine] "A robe made of istabraq was presented to the Prophet ﷺ . People started to touch and admire it with their hands. The Prophet ﷺ then said, 'You are amazed by this, but I swear by Allah, the handkerchiefs of Saad in paradise are better than it.'"
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ came with a silk garment, and they were amazed by its softness. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'There is a handkerchief or some handkerchiefs of Sa'd in Paradise that are softer than it or better than it.'"
[Machine] The ditch was in Shawwal in the fifth year, and in it, Saad ibn Muadh died.
13.3 [Machine] What Saad bin Muadh narrated from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ
[Machine] Umayyah said to Saad, "Wait until midday when people are distracted, then go and perform tawaf around the Kaaba safely." While Saad was performing tawaf, Abu Jahl approached him and asked, "Who is this person performing tawaf around the Kaaba safely?" Saad replied, "I am Saad." Abu Jahl said, "You perform tawaf around the house safely, even though you have given refuge to Muhammad and his companions?" They argued until Umayyah said to Saad, "Don't raise your voice against Abu Al-Hakam (referring to Abu Jahl), for he is the leader of the valley people." Saad replied, "By Allah, if you prevent me from performing tawaf around the house, I will cut off your trade route to Sham." Umayyah then said to Saad, "Don't raise your voice against Abu Al-Hakam, I will restrain him." This angered Saad, and he said, "Leave us alone, for I heard Muhammad claiming that he will fight you." Abu Jahl asked, "Is he referring to me?" Saad replied, "Yes." Abu Jahl said, "By Allah, Muhammad does not lie." When they left, Saad returned to his wife and informed her about what his brother from Yathrib (referring to the Prophet Muhammad) had said. Umayyah's wife said, "Muhammad never leaves us alone." When the battle of Badr approached and they went out to meet the enemy, Umayyah's wife said to him, "Don't you remember what your brother from Yathrib told you?" Umayyah intended not to go but Abu Jahl said to him, "You are from the noble elite of the valley people, so come with us for one day or two." Umayyah obeyed and Allah killed him.

[Machine] I heard Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numair saying, "Saad bin Ubada is called Abu Thabit."
[Machine] About Urwa Ibn Mas'ud Al-Thaqafi, he said, "Regarding the naming of those who witnessed the Battle of Al-Aqaba, they were from the Ansar and then from the Banu Sa'idah bin Ka'b bin Al-Khazraj. Sa'd bin 'Ubadah bin Dulaym bin Harithah bin Khuzaymah, who was a captain and also witnessed the Battle of Badr."
[Machine] About Ibn Shihab, "In the naming of those who witnessed the pledge of allegiance at al-'Aqabah from the Ansar, then from the Banu Sa'ida ibn Ka'b, Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah was one of them and he was the leader."
[Machine] "We went out to the Hajj in which we pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Al-Aqaba, and the leader of the Banu Sa'dah was Sa'd bin 'Ubada and Al-Mundhir bin 'Amr."
[Machine] The battalion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of Badr consisted of Ali ibn Abi Talib, and the battalion of the Ansar was led by Saad ibn Ubada.
[Machine] The banner of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in all the locations, the banner of the Muhajireen with Ali ibn Abi Talib, and the banner of the Ansar with Saad ibn Ubada.
[Machine] Saad ibn Ubada died in Hawran in the land of Damascus in the year sixteen.
[Machine] "Saad bin Ubada passed away after two and a half years of the caliphate of Umar, in Hawran of the land of Sham, and he is known as Abu Thabit."
[Machine] Saad was urinating while standing when he leaned and died. The jinn killed him, so they said.
13.4 [Machine] Saad ibn Ubadah Al-Ansari, then Al-Khazraji, a follower from Badr and Uhud, a captain, known as Abu Thabit, he stayed in Sham and passed away there.
[Machine] "I find something on my back." Then, he did not last long before he died, and the jinn wailed for him, saying, "
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed judgment on the basis of an oath (from the claimant) along with a (single) witness. [This is in the absence of two witnesses.] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2368)
[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us and Ali ibn al-Mubarak al-Sana'ani narrated to us and Isma'il ibn Abi Uwais narrated to us and Sulaiman ibn Bilal narrated from Rabi'ah ibn Abi 'Abd al-Rahman who narrated from Isma'il ibn 'Amr ibn Qais ibn Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah from his father that they found in the book of Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled by swearing an oath with a single witness. The wording is from the hadith of Ibn Abi Uwais.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Give in charity on behalf of the children of so-and-so, and be careful not to come on the Day of Resurrection with a young camel burdening your neck or your back. He said, "O Messenger of Allah, relieve me of it." So he relieved him of it.
[Machine] Sa'd bin 'Ubada asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a vow that his mother had made, so the Prophet commanded him to fulfill it.
[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik, from Ibn Shihab, from 'Ubaydullah ibn 'Abdullah, from Ibn 'Abbas, that Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah asked the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , saying, "O Messenger of Allah, my mother has passed away and she had made a vow but did not fulfill it." The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Fulfill it on her behalf."
"Fulfill it on her behalf." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3817)
[Machine] Sa'd ibn 'Ubadah al-Ansari sought the advice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding a vow that his mother had made but passed away before fulfilling it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told him, "Fulfill it on her behalf." Therefore, Muslims should consult in every matter that a person has made a commitment to, but passed away before fulfilling it.
"My mother has died and she had a vow to fulfill. Will it suffice if I free a slave on her behalf?" He said: "Free a slave on behalf of your mother." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3656)
