[Machine] Her mother, 'Amirah bint Sahl, the wife of Sa'd the owner of the Sa'ayn (twin) date palm trees which hypocrites had mocked, told her that he had gone out with his charity of a sa' (a measure of capacity) of dates and his daughter 'Amirah until they reached the Prophet ﷺ . Then he poured it out and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have a need from you." He asked, "What is it?" He replied, "That you pray to Allah for me and her with blessing, and that you wipe her head with your hand, for I have no child other than her." (The narrator) said, "Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ put his hand on me, and by Allah, it was as if the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was cold on my liver."  

أَنَّ أُمَّهَا عَمِيرَةَ بِنْتَ سَهْلٍ صَاحِبِ الصَّاعَيْنِ الَّذِي لَمَزَهُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ حَدَّثَتْهَا أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ بِزَكَاتِهِ بِصَاعٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ وبَابْنَتِهِ عَمِيرَةَ حَتَّى أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَصَبَّ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ لِي إِلَيْكَ حَاجَةً قَالَ «وَمَا هِيَ؟» قَالَ تَدْعُو اللهَ لِي وَلَهَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ وَتَمْسَحُ رَأْسَهَا فَإِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِي وَلَدٌ غَيْرَهَا قَالَتْ فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدَهُ عَلَيَّ فَأُقْسِمُ بِاللهِ لَكَأَنَّ بَرْدَ يَدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى كَبِدِي  

[Machine] Sahl bin Saad, also known as Abu Al-Abbas, died in Madinah in the year ninety-one and he was ninety-six years old.  

«تُوُفِّيَ سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ وَيُكْنَى أَبَا الْعَبَّاسِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ سَنَةَ إِحْدَى وَتِسْعِينَ وَسِنُّهُ سِتٌّ وَتِسْعُونَ سَنَةً»  

[Machine] Sahl ibn Saad As-Saadi died in the year 91.  

«مَاتَ سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ سَنَةَ إِحْدَى وَتِسْعِينَ»  

[Machine] Sahl ibn Saad had seen the Prophet ﷺ , heard from him, and mentioned that he was fifteen years old when the Prophet ﷺ passed away.  

سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ «وَكَانَ قَدْ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَسَمِعَ مِنْهُ وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ»  

[Machine] Sahl ibn Saad had seen and heard from the Prophet ﷺ when he was fifteen years old on the day the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed away.  

سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ «وَكَانَ قَدْ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَسَمِعَ مِنْهُ وَأَنَّهُ ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ»  

[Machine] Sahl ibn Saad al-Ansari: "The Prophet ﷺ had been reached by him when he was fifteen years old during his time."  

سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ «وَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً فِي زَمَانِهِ»  

[Machine] He was in a gathering with his people, narrating to them about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and some of them were engaging in conversation with each other. He became angry and said, "Look at them, I am informing them about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, what my eyes have seen and my ears have heard, and some of them are engaged with each other. I swear by Allah, I will depart from among you, and I will never return to you again." I said to him, "Where will you go?" He said, "I will go and strive in the way of Allah." I said, "What fighting ability do you have? What can you hold onto from the horses? What can you strike with the sword? What can you stab with the spear?" He said, "O Abu Hazim, I will go and be in the frontlines, until someone among them comes to me, either an assailant or a stone, and may Allah grant me martyrdom." He said, "So he left and did not return except as a martyr."  

أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي مَجْلِسِ قَوْمِهِ وَهُوَ يُحَدِّثُهُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَبَعْضُهُمْ مُقْبِلٌ عَلَى بَعْضٍ يَتَحَدَّثُونَ فَغَضِبَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «انْظُرْ إِلَيْهِمْ أُحَدِّثُهُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَمَّا رَأَتْ عَيْنَايَ وَسَمِعَتْ أُذُنَايَ وَبَعْضُهُمْ مُقْبِلٌ عَلَى بَعْضٍ أَمَا وَاللهِ لَأَخْرُجَنَّ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَظْهُرِكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا أَرْجِعُ إِلَيْكُمْ أَبَدًا» قُلْتُ لَهُ أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُ؟ قَالَ «أَذْهَبُ فَأُجَاهِدُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ» قُلْتُ مَا بِكَ جِهَادٌ وَمَا تَسْتَمْسِكُ عَلَى الْفَرَسِ وَمَا تَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تَضْرِبَ بِالسَّيْفِ وَمَا تَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ تَطْعَنَ بِالرُّمْحِ فَقَالَ «يَا أَبَا حَازِمٍ أَذْهَبُ فَأَكُونُ فِي الصَّفِّ فَيَأْتِينِي بَيْنَهُمْ عَابِرٌ أَوْ حَجَرٌ فَيَرْزُقُنِي اللهُ الشَّهَادَةَ» قَالَ فَذَهَبَ لَعَمْرِي فَمَا رَجَعَ إِلَّا مَطْعُونًا
