13. Chapter of Sīn (Male) (14/36)
The Prophet ﷺ said: "The tasbih is for men and clapping is for women." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1210)
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The people will remain on the right path as long as they hasten the breaking of the fast." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1957)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The station of one of you in the cause of Allah is better than the world and everything in it."
[Machine] "There was a conflict among the Ansar, and the Prophet ﷺ came to them to reconcile between them. The Prophet ﷺ came, and Abu Bakr was leading the people in prayer, so he prayed behind Abu Bakr."
[Machine] While we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he was describing Paradise until he reached its end. Then he said, "In it is what no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no human heart has ever imagined." Then he recited this verse: "On beds (of Paradise) raised high, they will invoke their Lord (Allah) with fear and hope, and from what We have provided them, they will spend." Until he reached the statement in the verse: "A reward for what they used to do."
بَيْنَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَصِفُ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَيْهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ «فِيهَا مَا لَا عَيْنٌ رَأَتْ وَلَا أُذُنٌ سَمِعَتْ وَلَا عَلَى قَلْبِ بَشَرٍ خَطَرَ» ثُمَّ اقْتَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {تَتَجَافَى جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ الْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ} إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ}
“Going out in the morning in the cause of Allah, or in the evening, is more virtuous than the world and what is in it.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2755)
[Machine] And he said, "There was an old woman who used to cook salted meat on Fridays and sprinkle barley grains on it. So whenever we finished Friday prayer, we would enter and eat."
[Machine] Shall I not tell you a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? So I said, "Yes." He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Whoever is waiting in the mosque for prayer, he is in prayer.'"
We had a siesta or lunch after the Friday prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1086)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us while we were reciting the Qur'an to each other. He said, "Praise be to Allah, there is one book among you, which is the red and the black. Recite the Qur'an, recite the Qur'an, recite it before there come people who establish it like an arrow, and they do not go beyond their limits, seeking its reward hastily and not delaying it."

[Machine] There was a disagreement between two men from the Ansar, so the Prophet ﷺ went to reconcile between them during prayer time. When it was time for prayer, Bilal came to Abu Bakr and said, "O Abu Bakr, the prayer has begun, and the Prophet ﷺ is not here. Should I call the adhan and lead the prayer?" Abu Bakr replied, "Do as you wish." So Bilal called the adhan and led the prayer, and Abu Bakr started the prayer. Then the Prophet ﷺ came and joined the congregation. After finishing the prayer, the Prophet ﷺ greeted the people, and Abu Bakr went to move away. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ motioned to him to stay in his place, and when Abu Bakr moved, the Prophet ﷺ moved forward and led the prayer. After completing the prayer, the Prophet ﷺ asked Abu Bakr, "O Abu Bakr, what prevented you from staying where I instructed you?" Abu Bakr replied, "It was not fitting for the son of Abu Quhafa to lead the prayer in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to stand on a wooden platform. When the number of people increased, they said, "O Messenger of Allah, the people have increased, so should we not make a pulpit for you to stand on? For surely, sometimes the person who comes late does not hear anything from you and leaves." So, he commanded a young boy from the Ansar and took pieces of wood from the outskirts of the forest and made this pulpit. When he sat on it, the wooden platform he used to stand on became soft and quiet.

[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, there has been an argument between the Banu Amr ibn Awf until they threw stones at each other." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This used to happen among them in the past. Come with us to them." So, Ubayy ibn Ka'b and Suhail ibn Bayda'a stood up and went with him to reconcile between them. Then, the prayer time came and Bilal called the prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gestured to him to go slowly, so the people said to Abu Bakr, "Move forward." He said, "Do you see that?" They said, "Yes." So, he moved forward, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and started shaking hands with the people. Abu Bakr would not turn around during the prayer, but when he heard the people shaking hands, he turned around and saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . He then stepped back, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ moved forward and led the prayer. After finishing, he said, "O Abu Bakr, what prevented you from staying in your place when I gestured to you?" He said, "It was not appropriate for Ibn Abi Quhafa to go ahead of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Why did I see you shaking hands? Clapping is for men, and tasbih (saying subhan Allah) is for women in prayer."

[Machine] A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have dedicated myself to you and have observed fasting." The Prophet remained silent. Then, a man from the Ansar said, "O Messenger of Allah, if you have no need for her, then marry her to me." The Prophet asked him, "Do you have anything to offer in return?" The man replied, "No, by Allah." The Prophet then asked, "Have you memorized any portion of the Quran?" The man answered, "Yes." The Prophet said, "Then I have married her to you in exchange for what you know of the Quran."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abdullah bin Amr, "How will you be if you remain among the people's scum, and their promises and trusts are mixed up, and they have become like this, and you are tangled in their affairs?" Allah and His Messenger know better, he said, "Do what you know and leave what you disapprove of. Be cautious of involving yourself in the religion of Allah and take care of your own self, and leave the common people."

[Machine] Adi ibn Hatim came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, my father used to maintain kinship, carry loads, and feed the hungry." He said, "Did he embrace Islam?" He said, "No." He said, "Your father used to love to be mentioned, so he is mentioned."

[Machine] There were seven dinars with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he gave them to Aisha. When he fell ill, he said, "O Aisha, take the gold to Ali." Then he fainted, and Aisha was preoccupied with him until he repeated this several times. Each time, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fainted, and Aisha was preoccupied with him. So, she sent it to Ali. He gave it in charity and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spent the night of Monday in the throes of death. Aisha sent her lamp with a woman from her household and said, "Give us from your lamp some clarified butter." For the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spent the night of Monday in the throes of death.

I would certainly give this standard to a person at whose hand Allah would grant victory and who loves Allah and His Messenger and Allah and His Messenger love him also. The people spent the night thinking as to whom it would be given. When it was morning the people hastened to Messenger of Allah ﷺ all of them hoping that that would be given to him. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Where is 'Ali b. Abu Talib? They said: Messenger of Allah, his eyes are sore. He then sent for him and he was brought and Messenger of Allah ﷺ applied saliva to his eyes and invoked blessings and he was all right, as if he had no ailment at all, and conferred upon him the standard. 'Ali said: Messenger of Allah, I will fight them until they are like us. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Advance cautiously until you reach their open places, thereafter invite them to Islam and inform them what is obligatory for them from the rights of Allah, for, by Allah, if Allah guides aright even one person through you that is better for you than to possess the most valuable of the camels. (Using translation from Muslim 2406)
People came to Sahl b. Sa'd al-Sa'idi, when they were doubtful about the kind of wood of the pulpit (in the mosque of the Prophet). They asked him about it. He said: By Allah, I know (the wood) of which it was made; I saw it the first day when it was placed there, and the first day when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat on it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for a woman whom Sahl named and asked her: Order your boy, the carpenter, to construct for me a wooden pulpit so that I sit on it when I deliver a speech to the people. So she ordered him and he made a pulpit of a wood called tarfa taken from al-Ghabah (a place at a distance of nine miles from Medina). He brought it to her. She sent it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He ordered and that was placed here. I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying on it: he said: "Allah is most great"; he then bowed while he was on it; then he returned and prostrated in the root of the pulpit; he then returned (to the pulpit). When he finished (the prayer), he addressed himself to the people and said: O people, I did this so that you may follow me and know my prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1080)

[Machine] A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have come to offer myself to you." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at her, raised his gaze to her and straightened himself, then lowered his head. When the woman saw this, she realized that he did not have any interest in her, so she sat down. A man from his companions then stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, if you have no need for her, then marry her to me." He asked, "Do you have anything to offer as a dowry?"
