I suffered from an illness. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to pay a visit to me. He put his hands between my nipples and I felt its coolness at my heart. He should take seven ajwah dates of Medina and grind them with their kernels, and then put them into your mouth. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3875)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said one day, "O Abu Bakr, come, and O Umar, come. I have been commanded to reconcile between you by a revelation that has been sent down to me from the heavens. And you two are brothers in this world, and brothers in Paradise. So let each one of you greet his companion and shake hands with him." So Abu Bakr took the hand of Umar and smiled. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He who greets his companion will die before him." Then he said, "O Zubair, O Talha, come. I have been commanded to reconcile between you. And you two are brothers in this world, and brothers in Paradise. So let each one of you greet his companion and shake hands with him." And they did so. Then he said, "O Ali, come, O Ammar, come. He said the same to Abu Ayyub and to Abdullah ibn Salam, and they did so. And he mentioned the hadith.

"Sa'd bin 'Ubadah went out with the Prophet on one of his campaigns, and death came to his mother in Al-Madinah. It was said to her (as she was dying): 'Make a will.' She said: 'To whom shall I make a will? The wealth belongs to Sa'd.' Then she died before Sa'd came. When Sa'd came, he was told about that and he said: 'O Messenger of Allah, will it benefit her if I give in charity on her behalf?' The Prophet said: 'Yes.' Sa'd said: 'Such and such a garden is given in charity on her behalf' -regarding a garden that he named." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3650)

[Machine] From Urwah about how to name someone who witnessed the Battle of Badr from the Ansar and then from the Banu Sawwad ibn Ka'b, and the name of Ka'b is Zufar. Sa'd ibn Ubayd ibn al-Nu'man.

[Machine] From Ibn Shihab: "Regarding the designation of those who witnessed the Battle of Badr from the Ansar, then from the Aws, then from the Banu Amr ibn Awf, then from the Banu Umayyah ibn Zaid, it was Saad ibn Ubayd ibn Nu'man."

[Machine] I heard Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Numayr saying, "Saad ibn Ubaid is Abu Zaid, and he is the one who collected the Quran. And his son is Umair ibn Saad, who was the governor of Umar, and he is Saad ibn Ubaid ibn Numaan."

[Machine] Sa'd ibn 'Ubaid was called upon during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a reciter.

[Machine] About Uruwah, he said, "Regarding the identification of the Ansari who witnessed the Battle of Badr, it is Saad bin Numan bin Qais bin Amr bin Zaid bin Umayyah."
[Machine] A man complained to the Prophet ﷺ about Safwan ibn al-Muattal, saying that he used to say this poetry. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Leave Safwan, for Safwan has a foul tongue but a pure heart."
[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I saw him say during a journey, "We stopped at a place and he said to me, 'O Sa'd, go to that female goat and milk it.'" It was my duty to look after that place and the goats there. So I went and found a goat that was full of milk, and I milked it. I do not know how many times I milked it, and then I entrusted it to a man and got busy with the journey. The goat went away, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed me and said, "O Sa'd!" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, the journey preoccupied us and the goat went away." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, the goat went away with its owner."
[Machine] Saad, we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and we had some dates with us. Safwan said to me, "Give me some of these dates to eat." I said, "They are few, and I am not sure if it is appropriate for him to ask for them." When they stopped, you ate with them, and he said, "Give me some, for hunger has overcome me." He mentioned what had happened to him. I refused to do so, and the person carrying the dates passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he said, "Tell Safwan to go away." He did not stay that night and did not join the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in their round. He then came to Ali and said, "Where are you going? Are you going towards disbelief?" Ali went and informed the Prophet ﷺ about this. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Tell Safwan to catch up."

13.23 [Machine] Saad bin Al-Midhas translation:
[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Whoever has knowledge should not hide it, and whoever sheds tears out of fear of Allah, it is not permissible for him to enter the Hellfire forever, except in the clothing of the All-Merciful. And whoever lies about me, let him occupy a residence in Hellfire."
[Machine] "About Uruwah, he said: 'Regarding the identification of someone who witnessed the Battle of Badr, Sa'ad, the servant of Hatib ibn Abi Balta'ah.'"
[Machine] Ibn Shihab reported about the naming of one who witnessed the Battle of Badr, Sa'd, the servant of Hatab ibn Abi Baltha.

[Machine] About Urwah, he said: "Regarding the identification of those who participated in the Battle of Badr, Sa'd, a servant of Khawliyy from the Banu 'Amir ibn Lu'ayy tribe."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying about the poor Muslims that they enter Paradise ahead of everyone else by seventy years. They are brought forth just as pigeons are brought forth, and it is said to them, 'Stop for the reckoning,' and they say, 'By Allah, we did not leave anything behind for which we are to be reckoned.' Then Allah says, 'My servants have spoken the truth,' and they enter Paradise ahead of the people by seventy years.
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The poor of the Muslims will come on the Day of Resurrection with their destitution evident on their faces. It will be said to them, 'Stand for the reckoning.' They will say, 'We have not been given anything to be held accountable for.' So they will be judged and they will enter Paradise forty years before the people."
[Machine] He does not save anything in his house out of need, so he sent to him ten thousand. He took it and began to distribute it piece by piece. His wife said to him, "Where are you taking this?" He said, "I am taking it to someone who will weigh it for us, and only leave us with a small amount." When what they had was nearly gone, his wife said to him, "Go to some of your friends who you have given to, and take some of their profits." He began to delay and procrastinate, and kept making excuses until this took a long time. He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'If the Hoors (of Paradise) were to take out a finger from their fingers, its fragrance would be smelled by everyone with a soul." So I leave them for you, but by Allah, I am more entitled to leave you for them, but...
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "If a woman from the people of Paradise were to come to the people of the Earth, she would fill the Earth with a pleasant fragrance, and the light of the sun and the moon would disappear." By Allah, I would not choose her over them, and he placed his hand on his chest, meaning his wife.

[Machine] He is called Dakwan or Tahman, and he had a slave. He freed half of him and mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, who said: "You will be freed as you freed and you will be sprouted as you sprouted."
[Machine] That Abu Uhayhah's grandfather was sick when the Prophet ﷺ was sent, so he said during his illness, "Do not lift me from my bed, for the son of Abu Kabshah from Makkah is not worthy of coming to him." His son said while he was at his head, "O Allah, do not lift him."
[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, grant me permission for seclusion." He said to him, "O Uthman, indeed Allah has replaced us with the tolerant Hanafi monks and the proclamation of 'Allahu Akbar' on every honor. So if you are with us, then act as we act."

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Bring them to me.' Abu Bakr went to them and asked, 'Who are you?' They replied, 'We are the Bani Duhl ibn Tha'laba.' He said, 'I don't mean you, I mean the slaves.' Daghfal approached him and asked, 'Who are you?' He replied, 'I am a man from the Quraysh tribe.' Daghfal asked, 'Are you from the Banu Hashim?' He replied, 'No.' Daghfal asked again, 'Are you from the Banu Umayyah?' He replied, 'No.' Daghfal asked, 'Then you are one of the slaves?' Abu Bakr then returned to them a second time and asked, 'Who are you?' They replied, 'We are the Bani Duhl ibn Shayban.' He said, 'I mean the slaves.' They said, 'Wait until our elder, Fulan, comes.' Khalad said, 'I hope he is the one.' When their elder arrived, Abu Bakr asked them, 'If we defeat them, will you follow us?' They replied, 'We do not stipulate this, but when we finish with them, we will consider what you say.' When they met at the battle of Dhi Qar, their elder asked, 'What is the name of the man who invited you to what he invited you to?' They replied, 'Muhammad.' He said, 'He is your rallying cry, so be victorious over the people.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'With me, be victorious.'"

[Machine] Amongst us was a weak, sick, and leprous man who would contaminate the water supply with his impurities. Sa'd mentioned this to the Prophet ﷺ , who said, "Punish him according to his crime." Sa'd replied, "O Messenger of Allah, if we punish him according to his crime, we will kill him, for he is weak." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "Take a hundred twigs and strike him with them only once."

[Machine] There was a weak and deceptive man among us who would only harass women from the household of the people of the home. Saad raised his status to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and said, "Give him a hundred lashes." The man said, "O Messenger of Allah, he is weaker than that. If he is struck a hundred times, he will die." He (the Messenger of Allah) said, "So take a handful of palm fibers containing a hundred splinters and strike him with a single blow."
