[Machine] A man complained to the Prophet ﷺ about Safwan ibn al-Muattal, saying that he used to say this poetry. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Leave Safwan, for Safwan has a foul tongue but a pure heart."  

الطبراني:٥٤٩٥حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الرِّيَاحِيُّ ثنا عَامِرُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ رُسْتُمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَعْدٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ قَالَ

شَكَا رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ صَفْوَانَ بْنَ الْمُعَطَّلِ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ هَذَا الشِّعْرَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ صَفْوَانَ هَجَانِي فَقَالَ «دَعُوا صَفْوَانَ فَإِنَّ صَفْوَانَ خَبِيثُ اللِّسَانِ طَيِّبُ الْقَلْبِ»
