١٣۔ بَابُ السِّينِ ص ٣١
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling animals for animals on credit. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2270)
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْحَيَوَانِ بِالْحَيَوَانِ نَسِيئَةً»
[Machine] "Abu Muslim Al-Kashshi and Yusuf Al-Qadi narrated to us, they said: Muhammad bin Al-Minhāl narrated to us, he said: Yazid bin Zuray narrated to us, and Muhammad bin An-Nadr Al-Azdi narrated to us, Shihāb bin Abbād narrated to us, and Muhammad bin Bishr narrated to us, they said: Sa'eed bin Abi 'Aroobah narrated from Qatādah, from Al-Hasan, from Samurah, that the Prophet ﷺ prohibited selling an animal for another animal, as a form of misappropriation."
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ وَيُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ قَالَا ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا شِهَابُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ قَالَا ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْحَيَوَانِ بِالْحَيَوَانِ نَسِيئَةً»

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْحَيَوَانِ بِالْحَيَوَانِ نَسِيئَةً»
13.210 Section
١٣۔٢١٠ بَابٌ
The Prophet ﷺ forbade selling animals for animals when payment was to be made at a later date. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3356)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْحَيَوَانِ بِالْحَيَوَانِ نَسِيئَةً»
“Whoever becomes the master of a Mahram relative (with whom marriage is not lawful), he becomes free.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2524)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ مَلَكَ ذَا رَحِمٍ مَحْرَمٍ فَهُوَ حُرٌّ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said: "The Quran was revealed with three different letters."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «أُنْزِلَ الْقُرْآنُ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةِ أَحْرُفٍ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Attend the Friday (prayer) and come close to the Imam, for a person may have a rank in Paradise and then he will be delayed from attending the Friday (prayer), and as a result, he will be delayed from it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «احْضُرُوا الْجُمُعَةَ وَادْنُوا مِنَ الْإِمَامِ فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَكُونُ لَهُ الْمَنْزِلَةُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَيَتَأَخَّرُ عَنِ الْجُمُعَةِ فَيُؤَخَّرُ عَنْهَا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said, "Satan has kohl and a rope. When a person applies kohl, his eyes go to sleep and forget about remembering Allah. And when he ties the rope, his tongue is struck with evil."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لِلشَّيْطَانِ كُحْلًا وَلَعُوقًا فَإِذَا كَحَّلَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ كُحْلِهِ نَامَتْ عَيْنَاهُ عَنِ الذِّكْرِ وَإِذَا لَعَّقَهُ مِنْ لَعُوقِهِ ذَرَبَ لِسَانُهُ بِالشَّرِّ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A group of people will come to me and when they lift their heads towards me, I will shake noticeably. They will say, 'My Lord, my companions, my companions?' It will be said to them, 'You have no knowledge of what they have innovated after you.'"
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ قَوْمٌ مِمَّنْ كَانَ مَعِي فَإِذَا رَفَعُوا إِلَيَّ رَأْسَهُمُ اخْتُلِجُوا دُونِي فَأَقُولُ رَبِّي أَصْحَابِي أَصْحَابِي؟ فَيُقَالُ إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Hour will not come until the mountains move from their places, and you see great matters that you have never seen before."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَزُولَ الْجِبَالُ عَنْ أَمَاكِنِهَا وَتَرَوْنَ الْأُمُورَ الْعِظَامَ الَّتِي لَمْ تَكُونُوا تَرَوْنَهَا»
The Prophet ﷺ said: Do not invoke Allah's curse, Allah's anger, or Hell. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4906)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَلَاعَنُوا بِلَعْنَةِ اللهِ وَلَا بِغَضَبِ اللهِ وَلَا بِالنَّارِ»
The Prophet ﷺ said: Do not invoke Allah's curse, Allah's anger, or Hell. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4906)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تَلَاعَنُوا بِلَعْنَةِ اللهِ وَلَا بِغَضَبِ اللهِ وَلَا بِالنَّارِ»
The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone finds his very property with a man, he is more entitled to it (than anyone else), and the buyer should pursue the one who sold it. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3531)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ وَجَدَ عَيْنَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ وَيَتْبَعُ الْبَيْعَ مَنْ بَاعَهُ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever knows his property, let him take it and buy from where he is."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ عَرَفَ مَالَهُ فَلْيَأْخُذْهُ وَيَطْلُبُ الْبَيِّعُ بَيْعَهُ حَيْثُ كَانَ»
13.211 Section
١٣۔٢١١ بَابٌ
“The hand that takes is responsible for what it has taken until it returns it.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2400)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «عَلَى الْيَدِ مَا أَخَذَتْ حَتَّى تُؤَدِّيَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever surrounds something, then it belongs to him."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحَاطَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ لَهُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever surrounds a land with a wall, it belongs to him."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحَاطَ حَائِطًا عَلَى أَرْضٍ فَهِيَ لَهُ»
The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone surrounds a land with a wall, it belongs to him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3077)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحَاطَ حَائِطًا فَهِيَ لَهُ»

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ أَحَاطَ عَلَى أَرْضٍ حَائِطًا فَهِيَ لَهُ»
13.212 Section
١٣۔٢١٢ بَابٌ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever surrounds a land with a wall, it belongs to him."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَحَاطَ حَائِطًا عَلَى أَرْضٍ فَهِيَ لَهُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever conquers a water source, it belongs to him." And Wahb ibn Baqiyyah said, "He is more deserving of it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ غَلَبَ عَلَى مَاءٍ فَهُوَ لَهُ» وَقَالَ وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ «فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ prohibited the immigrant Muslim from selling to the Bedouin.
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَبِيعَ الْمُهَاجِرُ الْأَعْرَابِيَّ»
the Prophet ﷺ forbade the deal involving earnest money . (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2192)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ السِّنِينَ»
that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Sam was the father of Arabs, Ham the father of the Ethiopians, and Yafith the father of the Romans." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3231)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «سَامٌ أَبُو الْعَرَبِ وَحَامٌ أَبُو الْحَبَشِ وَيَافِثُ أَبُو الرُّومِ»
[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "The son of Noah are Shem, Japheth, and Ham."
أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «وَلَدُ نُوحٍ سَامٌ وَيَافِثُ وَحَامٌ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sons of Noah are three: Shem, Japheth, and Ham."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَلَدُ نُوحٍ ثَلَاثَةٌ سَامٌ وَيَافِثُ وَحَامٌ»
"The contractual obligation regarding a slave lasts for three days." (1) (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2244)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «عُهْدَةُ الرَّقِيقِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ»
[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , there was a pause when he would make takbeer (say "Allahu Akbar") and a pause when he finished reciting the Surah. Imran bin Husain was disturbed by this, so they wrote to Ubay bin Ka'b about it. Ubay wrote back, confirming that Samurah had indeed memorized the narration from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ سَكْتَةً إِذَا كَبَّرَ وَسَكْتَةً إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ قِرَاءَةِ السُّورَةِ» فَعَابَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْهِ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ فَكَتَبُوا إِلَى أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ فِي ذَلِكَ فَكَتَبَ أُبَيٌّ صَدَقَ سَمُرَةُ وَيَقُولُ إِنَّ سَمُرَةَ حَفِظَ الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ
[Machine] The passage translates to: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had significant silence."
«كَانَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ سَكْتَتَانِ»
The Prophet ﷺ said: When one of you comes to the cattle, he should seek permission of their master if he is there; if he permits, he should milk (the animals) and drink. If he is not there, he should call three times. If he responds, he should seek his permission; otherwise, he may milk (the animals) and drink, but should not carry (with him). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2619)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَتَى أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى مَاشِيَةٍ فَإِنْ رَأَى فِيهَا صَاحِبَهُ فَلْيَسْتَأْذِنْهُ فَإِنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ فَلْيَحْلِبْ وَلْيَشْرَبْ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهَا فَلْيُصَوِّتْ ثَلَاثًا فَإِنْ جَاءَ فَلْيَسْتَأْذِنْهُ وَإِلَّا فَلْيَحْلِبْ وَلْيَشْرَبْ وَلَا يَحْمِلْ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If one of you passes by a grazing animal, let him call out three times. If someone answers him, then he can milk and drink from it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا مَرَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِمَاشِيَةٍ فَلْيُنَادِ ثَلَاثًا فَإِنْ أَجَابَهُ أَحَدٌ وَإِلَّا حَلَبَ وَشَرِبَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The most regrettable of what the sons of Adam face is on three occasions: a man who had a beautiful and attractive wife who gave birth to a son and then died, and he has no one to breastfeed his child; a man who was on a horse during a battle and saw the spoils, so he raced his companions towards them, but when he got closer, his horse fell and died, and his companions divided the spoils among themselves; and a man who had a flourishing crop, but when it was ready for harvest, the crop died, and he had no money to buy a camel.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَشَدُّ حَسَرَاتِ بَنِي آدَمَ عَلَى ثَلَاثٍ رَجُلٌ كَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ امْرَأَةٌ حَسْنَاءُ جَمِيلَةٌ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ غُلَامًا فَمَاتَتْ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَهُ مَا يَسْتَرْضِعُ لِابْنِهِ وَرَجُلٍ كَانَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فِي غَزْوَةٍ فَرَأَى الْغَنِيمَةَ فَسَابَقَ أَصْحَابَهُ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى إِذَا قَرُبَ مِنْهَا وَقَعَ الْفَرَسُ فَمَاتَ وَوَاقَعَ أَصْحَابُهُ الْغَنِيمَةَ فَاقْتَسَمُوهَا وَرَجُلٌ كَانَ لَهُ زَرْعٌ وَنَاضِحٌ فَلَمَّا اسْتَوَى زَرْعُهُ وَاسْتَحْصَدَ مَاتَ نَاضِحُهُ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَهُ مَا يَشْتَرِي بَعِيرًا
[Machine] The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The one who migrates to Friday is like the one who migrates with a camel, then like the one who migrates with a cow, then like the one who migrates with a sheep, then like the one who migrates with a chicken."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُهَجِّرُ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ كَالْمُهْدِي بَدَنَةً ثُمَّ كَالْمُهْدِي بَقَرَةً ثُمَّ كَالْمُهْدِي شَاةً ثُمَّ كَالْمُهْدِي دَجَاجَةً»
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Surely, every Prophet has a pool to which they take pride in, and indeed I hope to have the most visitors to it."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوْضًا يَتَبَاهَوْنَ بِهِ أَيُّهُمْ أَكْثَرُ وَارِدَةً وَإِنِّي أَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَكْثَرَهُمْ وَارِدَةً»
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ liked the Muhajirun and Ansar to stand closest to him, so that they could learn from him.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 977)
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُعْجِبُهُ أَنْ يَلِيَهُ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ وَالْأَنْصَارُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ لِيَأْخُذُوا عَنْهُ»
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to maintain moderation in prostration and not to rush."
«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَعْتَدِلَ فِي السُّجُودِ وَلَا نَسْتَوْفِزَ»
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to be moderate in our prostrations and not to exaggerate."
«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَعْتَدِلَ فِي السُّجُودِ وَلَا نَسْتَوْفِزَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Jannat al-Firdaws is the highest and best part of Paradise, located in the middle."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «جَنَّةُ الْفِرْدَوْسِ هِيَ رَبْوَةُ الْجَنَّةِ الْعُلْيَا الَّتِي هِيَ أَوْسَطُهَا وَأَحْسَنُهَا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Al-Firdaus is the highest, the greatest, and the most central part of paradise, and from it the rivers of paradise flow."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْفِرْدَوْسُ رَبْوَةُ الْجَنَّةِ وَأَعْلَاهَا وَأَوْسَطُهَا وَمِنْهَا تَفَجَّرُ أَنْهَارُ الْجَنَّةِ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Let the Bedouins stand behind the emigrants and the Ansar, so they may learn from them in prayer."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لِيَقُمِ الْأَعْرَابُ خَلْفَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ لِيَقْتَدُوا بِهِمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ»
“The son of Adam grows old but two things remain young in him: His craving for wealth and his craving for a long life.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4234)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَهْرَمُ ابْنُ آدَمَ وَيَشِبُّ مِنْهُ اثْنَانِ الْحِرْصُ عَلَى الْمَالِ وَطُولُ الْعُمُرِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, among the inhabitants of Hell there are those whom the fire reaches up to their ankles, up to their knees, up to their waists, and up to their throats."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ مَنْ تَأْخُذُهُ النَّارُ إِلَى كَعْبَيْهِ وَإِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَإِلَى حِقْوَيْهِ وَإِلَى تَرْقُوَتِهِ»
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to respond when the Imam says the salutation (saying of peace)."
«أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَلَّمَ الْإِمَامُ أَنْ نَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the Imam says, 'not those who have evoked [Your] anger or those who are astray,' then say, 'Ameen' as Allah will respond to you."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا قَالَ الْإِمَامُ {غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ} فَقُولُوا آمِينَ يُجِبْكُمُ اللهُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) said: "Every question is a hook and a poke on the face of a man, except when the man asks his father or the ruler who is responsible."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمَسْأَلَةُ كُدُوحٌ وَخُدُوجٌ فِي وَجْهِ الرَّجُلِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْأَلَ الرَّجُلُ أَبَاهُ أَوِ الْأَمِيرَ الَّذِي عَلَيْهِ»
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade celibacy. Zaid bin Akhzam added: “And Qatadah recited: 'And indeed We sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad ﷺ), and made for them wives and offspring.'” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1849)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ التَّبَتُّلِ» ثُمَّ قَرَأَ قَتَادَةُ {وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلًا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَذُرِّيَّةً}
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The greatest day of Hajj is the day when Abu Bakr performed Hajj with the people."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَوْمُ الْحَجِّ الْأَكْبَرِ يَوْمَ حَجَّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ؓ بِالنَّاسِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, Eve did not have a child to live for her, so Satan suggested to her to name him 'Abdul-Harith,' for he will live. So she named him as suggested, and this was from the inspiration of Satan and his command. Then she conceived a light pregnancy that did not make her susceptible to fatigue. She passed by him when her pregnancy became evident."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ حَوَّاءَ كَانَ لَا يَعِيشُ لَهَا وَلَدٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا الشَّيْطَانُ سَمِّيهِ عَبْدَ الْحَارِثِ فَإِنَّهُ يَعِيشُ فَسَمَّوْهُ وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ وَحْيِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَأَمْرِهِ فَحَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًا لَمْ يَسْتَبِنْ فَمَرَّتْ بِهِ لَمَّا اسْتَبَانَ حَمْلُهَا
[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The deceased is punished by the weeping of the living."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ الْحَيِّ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Establish prayer, give zakat, perform Hajj and Umrah, and strive to maintain steadfastness."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَحُجُّوا واعْتَمِرُوا واسْتَقِيمُوا يُسْتَقَمْ بِكُمْ»
